[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you recently removed maintenance templates from Draft:Bear's Paw Galaxy. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please see Help:Maintenance template removal for further information on when maintenance templates should or should not be removed. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. The record of the review of a draft says not to remove it. That means not to remove it. Robert McClenon (talk) 02:10, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Draft:Bear's Paw Galaxy, you may be blocked from editing. Theroadislong (talk) 19:05, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
This is your only warning; if you make personal attacks on others again, as you did at User talk:Nolan Ryfa, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Theroadislong (talk) 20:28, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Question re your draft
[edit]Hey there. I noticed the draft you've been working on, and was wondering what the need is for a separately named article to NGC 2537, which already exists? You appear to have replicated the entirety of that article and then added some 'fun facts' below - it might be a better approach to just edit the existing, longstanding article rather than create a duplicate. Tony Fox (arf!) 04:45, 15 May 2022 (UTC)
- sry about that i rephrased it and added in more information at the bottom. Nolan Ryfa (talk) 07:57, 15 May 2022 (UTC)

Draft submissions
[edit]Hello, Nolan Ryfa,
You are not paying attention to what the draft AFC reviewers are telling you and keep resubmitting the draft over and over again. If you persist, the draft will be rejected and will no longer be eligible to be submitted. Please review their comments and follow their advice, they are very experienced editors and have evaluated hundreds of draft articles.
If you have questions about article creation or Wikipedia policies, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 02:39, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Bear's Paw Galaxy
[edit]A tag has been placed on Draft:Bear's Paw Galaxy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Recreation of page that has been deleted via PROD via cut and paste.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Bear's Paw Galaxy
[edit]Why do you insist on creating multiple drafts when there is an existing article - NGC 2537 - to which you could just add the additional information? Nthep (talk) 14:14, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- I wanted to have my own page Nolan Ryfa (talk) 14:59, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- Wikipedia isn't a collection of "my pages", it's a collaborative effort, so editors are expected to co-operate and expand on each others work. Nthep (talk) 15:14, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- I created for my science teacher, not for a "collaborative effort" Nolan Ryfa (talk) 15:25, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
- If that's the case, you should not be editing Wikipedia - collaboration is one of the most important aspects of this encyclopedia. Nobody should own a page. In addition, your most recent efforts include a long copy-and-paste from a book, which is copyright infringing, and also against the rules. (Both here and, I suspect, for your science teacher.) Please take some time to learn how to edit within the guidelines before moving forward with further page creation. Tony Fox (arf!) 15:39, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Nolan Ryfa! While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 17:49, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
