Fair use Images in List articles

[edit]

Hi,

Please dont insert fair use images of Gulzari lal nanda, vp singh etc in List of Prime Ministers of India. In Wikipedia we cannot use fair use non free images in list articles. Using them in list articles is copyright violation. This is clearly mentioned in several places in the article and also in the edit summary of my edit. But you have undone my reversal of your inclusion. Please do not indulge in such activities. Repeated copyright violation might lead you being blocked from editing wikipedia.--Sodabottle (talk) 11:13, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry if i sounded rude, i had to use a bit over the top language since you reinstated the images without comment. I apologise again. Coming to the "use of NFCC images". This is a highly contentious topic which has seen huge amounts of debate over the years (and which is still going on). But it is accepted practice in wikipedia not to use NFCC images in list articles. Unless the consensus changes specifically we cannot change the practice. Since i have specifically disagreed with your edit, please do not reinsert them. The way to go is change the consensus by opening a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content.--Sodabottle (talk) 13:47, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
