I reverted your additions to Ottawa-Glandorf Local School District, Putnam County, Ohio, since they are parochial schools and a private preschool and the article is about the schools of the school district only. Thanks, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 16:10, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Titans og mascot.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Titans og mascot.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Titans og mascot.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Titans og mascot.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:17, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WBL Map

[edit]

Thanks for pointing out the typo, I will fix it very soon. It's funny that you mentioned a map to include former members, I was about to create one for the Northern Lakes League and the Suburban Lakes League to show the same thing. I will have those done for you asap. Frank12 (talk) 20:56, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is what I've got. If you'd like it to be different, I can modify it without any trouble. Frank12 (talk) 01:04, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

High School Athletics conferences

[edit]

Question...was there some sort of consensus regarding the change of all high school athletics conferences to include "(OHSAA)" in the title? If yes, then I don't really have that much of a problem with it (not THAT big a deal), but if not, your concern of multiple conferences with the same name would be the only time you need (OHSAA) in the title, much like with high schools of the same name. High schools that have a unique name do not need to have a state or city listed with their name and the same should go with the conferences. I would only add "(OHSAA)" to conferences that actually do have a duplicate name somewhere else. Ones like Portage Trail and Northeast Ohio aren't likely to have a duplicate name since they are representative of the region they come from. --JonRidinger (talk) 02:45, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was about to make the same comment, actually. In the case of a couple duplicates, sure, it's no problem to disambiguate that way, but it seems excessive to use it for the Ohio Cardinal Conference. matt91486 (talk) 18:10, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's understandable, but the titles don't really need to have uniformity as far as parenthesis go since they are used to differentiate titles of the same name. I remember going through this with what to name each school district about three years ago. People wanted them to be uniform, so they had "district title, county, state" (example: Kent City School District, Portage County, Ohio) even if the district had a unique name. Finally, it was decided to use the district's actual name since many did not have a duplicate name (again, Kent City School District), not to mention adding the extra stuff made it that much longer to type. When they did have a duplicate name, then they added the city in parenthesis (Southeast Local School District (Ravenna, Ohio)). While I don't know if there is an actual guideline or rule, my guess is that generally, avoid using parenthesis in a title whenever possible and only use them when needed. --JonRidinger (talk) 22:00, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It's just an unnecessary tier of information for article titling. OSHAA is an appropriate level of disambiguation should there be the need, but with the ability to type article links without needing to show the full article heading, there's no need to have uniformity at the expense of the simplest possible title. matt91486 (talk) 23:47, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

unnecessary disambigutation

[edit]

I don't know if you are still editing, but if you come back, you should not be making page moves like this [1]. The disambiguation by parens is completely unnecessary as there is no other Olentangy_High_School. Please see WP:DAB. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 14:52, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
