[edit]Hello, I'm Waxworker. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, GunForce, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Waxworker (talk) 15:37, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
- You can literally google it and find multiple sites which state 11 November 1992 release date for Japan, 27 November 1992 for NA. It's common knowledge, I don't need to cite it. Olopoton (talk) 15:40, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
- Please see WP:BURDEN, which states that "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution". The SNES game list Nintendo ref used as a source for the date only specifies month and year, and doesn't list a day. A reliable source verifying the date is necessary for verification. - You're gatekeeping a 33-year-old video game article because you can't be bothered to search it? Go look at any other game like Contra 3. No citations on the date, because a release date is a matter of fact. Olopoton (talk) 15:49, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
- In the case of Contra 3, the dates are sourced within the body of the article. Saying that claims need sources to verify them isn't gatekeeping. Waxworker (talk) 15:54, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
