Speedy deletion of Janamejaya I
Hi,
I don't think this article should be deleted. As I mentioned in the talk page of the article, there are two Janamejayas and this is about the one who preceded the other. To help people understand better, I have even created a disambiguation page. I am not sure what the process is to de-nominate this article now for not getting deleted. I can provide links to the proof of the existence of two kings. The original article "Janamejaya" had confusing write-up as it tends to treat both the kings as one and is not correct.
Hnaluru (talk) 13:12, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hnaluru - Sorry, I disagree, the newly created article basically has the same facts as the original article. Not two distinct individuals. Same father, same stuff with the snakes. Onel5969 TT me 13:15, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
No, There are no snakes involved with the first Janamejaya. He performed an Ashvamedha Sacrifice, whereas the second had performed the snake sacrifice. snake sacrifice is because Parikshit II died from a snake bite and his son is infuriated. The former one is not said to have performed this.
Regarding the names, yes - the tradition in India is the name of the first born will have the name of the grandfather normally if the grandfather died by the time the grandson is born. Check other dynasties that have repetitive father-son names.
Also, you can refer to the below book for more information which talks about the differences between the two. https://books.google.co.in/books?id=z3ksBrWoZm0C&printsec=frontcover&dq=vedic+civilization&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj-no_O54TZAhXGT7wKHcCuAlsQ6AEIKDAA Hnaluru (talk) 13:24, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
- You're right about the snakes, I misspoke... but the new article refers to him as the starter of the Ashvamedha tradition, where the Ashvamedha article doesn't mention him at all. In its current state, the newer article does not show the difference, with citations, between the two. My suggestion is to have it moved to draft, and work on it until it is much more fleshed out, with stuff like dates, etc. Onel5969 TT me 13:31, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

FYI
Hello O. I hope you are well. I saw Dawson City: Frozen Time last night. It is a fascinating film. The balance between straight documentary and art film is like nothing I've seen. While I don't expect anyone to like it as much as I do it is worth seeing for anyone with an interest in film history - and several other histories for that matter :-) Best regards. MarnetteD|Talk 20:16, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi MarnetteD, thanks for the heads-up. I am not a huge documentary fan, but will check this one out. It's a small world. One of the ventures I've been involved in over the years were mining operations in Canada. My partner in that venture (and we're still partners in several mining things), was actually in Dawson during that period doing placer mining from 1976-1979 (before moving onto South America in 1980). When we were re-opening a platinum mine near the Bering Straight in 2007, we found a stash of old films from the 1940s-1960s, and he related to me the story about the discovery of those films back in the 60s. We only found about 60 or so, and most were newsreels, but there were a few films. Unfortunately, the container they had been stored in had cracked over the years, letting in water, and only the labels were still vaguely legible. The films themselves were lost. Onel5969 TT me 20:42, 7 February 2018 (UTC)
- Yowza that is an extraordinary coincidence O. Thanks for sharing that. There is so much more to this film than my (or anyone else's that I've read) words can express. I hope you find it interesting. MarnetteD|Talk 20:50, 7 February 2018 (UTC)

jaiswal
how can u revert the changes... I had given true reference... that book which I give as a reference is published by Indian government anthropological department which they conducted as survey.. now Wikipedia had become more reliable than government survey.. jaiswal kalwar r not in reservation till 2003 and we r in general still in some states like West bangal Assam etc and kalchuri r not included in 36 rajput clan and no rajput have any knowledge about kalchuri... there r still family which have rajput link like Aditya vikram jaiswal grandson of rai bahadur jaiswal..go wiki page of prithviraj raso it itself says surprisingly kalchuri abhira r also added to 36 rajputs clan. by the way there r judgements of British Era which confirm our kshtriya status but I cannot disclose as that will dent our reservation status... kalchuri had been different from rajputs as they had some jain history and some anti brahmin history too... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Highsky6252 (talk • contribs) 13:59, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
- In a word, no. Simply linking to a google books link is not a valid reference. In addition, your edit was part of a larger addition of unsourced material. Onel5969 TT me 14:08, 12 February 2018 (UTC)
thanks
Thank you for all the work you've done.
Steinwerder
Hi, I see you deleted my article on Steinwerder. In my innocence I had assumed that, as a quarter of Hamburg-Mitte it would automatically be a notable place. Indeed it is the only quarter of Hamburg-Mittel without an article of its own on the English Wikipedia and of course it does have an article on the German Wikipedia. Its history is dominated by the Blohm+Voss shipbuilders, so this was necessarily reflected in my article. What kinds of additional sources would be needed - as a minimum - to allow say tagging it with a {{refimprove}}
rather than summarily deleting it? — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 18:57, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
You might also like to respond constructively at Talk:Hamburg-Mitte#Steinwerder, where others can see your opinions for themselves. That might include why well over 2,000,000 Google hits on "Steinwerder" do not at least suggest notability. I look forward to a reply as prompt as your deletion was. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 19:33, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
BTW, you can find my current draft at User:Steelpillow/test2. — Cheers, Steelpillow (Talk) 19:44, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Steelpillow - First, I did not delete the article. Merely redirected it. Presence on other wikis is irrelevant, has most have much lower standards than English Wikipedia regarding notability. Google hits is even less relevant. What you need are in-depth citations from independent, reliable sources to show notability. Regarding other info on the page (like the shipbuilder), can be from non-independent sources, as long as it's not promotional. For example, you could cite the history page on the shipbuilder's website if you wanted to include some history of the shipbuilder as it relates to the quarter. The article, Ahwatukee, Phoenix, is a pretty good example of city neighborhood article. Hope this helps. Onel5969 TT me 19:49, 21 February 2018 (UTC)
14:50:22, 22 February 2018 review of submission by Complexityfelicity
Dear reviewer,
Thank you for the feedback on the article that I have been trying to submit. I have now tried everything I could to fix the issues that have been pointed out but still not sure if it's ready for another submission. Is there anything else you could think of that needs to be improved? Many, many thanks!

Input
How's it going?
As someone who's contributed to discography pages, I was wondering if you'd care to put some input in this discussion. --Blastmaster11 (talk) 21:01, 24 February 2018 (UTC)
a suspicion
It is a random suspicion, but I think the anonymous editor (2405:204:210B:9DB1:C5F7:DF4D:9023:607B) who added Gandhi and Amit Shah to List of Jains might actually be Amit Shah. What is more amusing is the book that he cites to prove Amit Shah is Jain seems to be a three page pamphlet/self-published $1 ebook about...the life of Amit Shah. Wouldn't surprise me if it was ghost written by Amit Shah. Amatyaugrasen might be the same guy. Thanks for beating me to the revert on the Gandhi edit. Happy St. David's Day
The leek is one of the national emblems of Wales, worn along with the daffodil (in Welsh, the daffodil is known as "Peter's leek", Cenhinen Bedr) on St. David's Day. According to one legend, King Cadwaladr of Gwynedd ordered his soldiers to identify themselves by wearing the vegetable on their helmets in an ancient battle against the Saxons that took place in a leek field.[1] Cheers!‑ ‑ Gareth Griffith‑Jones The Welsh Buzzard ‑ ‑ 15:55, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
- Brilliant! Thanks for the brief history legend on my heritage Gareth Griffith-Jones. Hope you are doing well. Oh, btw, the name of the foundation I started is "Duw Yn Wych". Cheers! Onel5969 TT me 18:47, 28 February 2018 (UTC)
