You might want to add quotations from notable people on to Wikiquote instead of Wikipedia. (aeropagitica) 17:30, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated List of palindromic phrases in English, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of palindromic phrases in English and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. AfD nomination of List of English Kangaroo Words

[edit]

I have nominated List of English Kangaroo Words, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of English Kangaroo Words. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. McGeddon (talk) 07:53, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I completely disagree. Please see the article discussion page for my reasons Powerslide
You should post your full disagreements at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of English Kangaroo Words rather than my and the article's talk pages, if you want them to affect the deletion decision. The deletion process is a communal decision.
You're absolutely right that there's a place on the Internet to build an ongoing archive of kangaroo words - Wikipedia just isn't that place. You're more than welcome to take the list and host it indefinitely somewhere else, I'm not trying to expunge anyone's hard work from the Internet. --McGeddon (talk) 07:17, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Compaq LTE

[edit]

Hi Powerslide! I just saw your note about the Compaq 286 LTE. I still have the computer... it still sorta works (though the backlight is shot!), but I suspect I may still have the diagnostics disk. It's somewhere in the garage though, so it may take some time for me to dig up. I'll let you know if/when I'm able to dig it up, and we can go from there. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Stereographic projection, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Conformal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
