[edit]

Information icon Hello. Your recent edit to List of LIMS software packages appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. Userpage content

[edit]

Hello. I removed most of the content from your userpage except for your paid editing disclosure (thanks for that, by the way) because it contained material copied from https://www.genesislims.com/Welcome/Welcome.htm. You cannot post copyrighted material on Wikipedia even if you are the copyright holder, unless special licensing permissions are in place. In short, a copyright owner cannot offer Wikipedia a one-time license for use. Rather, the copyright to the material has to be released – permanently and irrevocably – into the public domain or under a free copyright license that is compatible with Wikipedia's licenses. This is because Wikipedia aims to be freely distributable and copyable by anyone, so all content must be licensed for that purpose. You can learn more about this policy at Wikipedia:Copyrights.

A userpage is meant for you to tell people a bit about you, the editor. Userpage content is defined by Wikipedia's userpage guidelines. Userpages are not encyclopedia articles, workspaces for articles in progress, or pages for promotional content. Even if your content was not copyrighted, it wouldn't be allowed because it appears to advertise or promote your company.

Wikipedia articles are about notable topics - those that have gained sufficiently significant attention by the world at large and over a period of time, and are not outside the scope of Wikipedia. There are more refined criteria for what makes a company notable. We consider evidence from reliable and independent sources to gauge this attention. Primary sources like a company's website cannot establish notability; as well, company-authored materials such as press-releases, blogs, social media or other self-published sources will not be considered reliable. We only care about significant coverage the company has received from unaffiliated third parties.

You appear to be aware of Wikipedia's conflict of interest (COI) and paid editing rules, so please continue to abide by them. Even though it's not prohibited, we generally discourage editors with a COI from writing about their own organizations, due to the inherent difficulty in adhering to the required neutral point of view. If you still want to write about your company, use the WP:Article wizard to create a draft article that can be submitted for review by uninvolved editors.

Thank you for your cooperation and good luck. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:07, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
