Welcome

[edit]

Hello, Radio Tactics, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been reverted for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of deletion, you might like to draft your article before submission, then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. It is also worth noting that Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which specifically link them to one company or corporation. If your username does have such a name, it would be advisable for you to request a change of username.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Borkificator (talk) 11:19, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Radio Tactics, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you.  Chzz  ►  11:47, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Username

[edit]

Hiya. Just a heads up that our username policy bans usernames that represents a company or group - accounts are for individuals only. See WP:CORPNAME. You can request to change your username here: Wikipedia:Changing username.

By the way; I work on articles in the digital forensics field. Unfortunately at this stage not enough reliable third party sources exist to validate the notability of your company or products (even Guidance Software have no article). It is a problem I am slowly addressing :) Feel free to drop me a note if you want to know more. --Errant (chat!) 12:57, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, one or more of the external links you added to the page Mobile forensics do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a collection of links; nor should it be used as a platform for advertising or promotion, and doing so is contrary to the goals of this project. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. TeapotgeorgeTalk 13:09, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Radio Tactics has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Company is significant in the field of mobile device forensics but no sourcing is available that satisfies WP:CORP. I have tried in the past to source this company & their products but sadly no joy.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for spamming or advertising. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. cut and paste of my email reply to this editor who requested to know by email why the page was deleted:

"I'd be happy to. I deleted it because:

(1) The article did not assert the notability of the company. We have articles on many companies, but they must not only be notable but explain their notability and support it with reliable sources.

(2) The article had little content, other than stating that the company exists and a gallery of various devices without explanation of what they were or why they were significant.

(3) The article was created by you, who clearly have an association with the subject...and your other activities of adding links to your company on other articles gave me a reasonable suspicion that you were not contributing to the encyclopedia in good faith but instead were trying to promote your company. This is also why you are blocked from editing the encyclopedia.

I stated in my deletion note that the article can be re-created with assertion of notability and expanded content, so hopefully ErrantX or someone may do just that. Syrthiss (talk) 13:48, 3 February 2011 (UTC)"[reply]
