Bombay Dost

[edit]

I have moved your article back to Draft:Bombay Dost because it was far from ready for publication in main article space. Please work on it there and submit it for review — especially if you have any association with Bombay Dost. I've done some cleanup (mostly removing citations to Wikipedia, please use Wikilinks instead). Also see the notice below. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:37, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your concern. I will make necessary changes before submitting it for review again. Rakshita Agarwal (talk) 17:24, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Mandatory paid editing disclosure

[edit]
Information icon

Hello Rakshita Agarwal. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to Black hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Rakshita Agarwal. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Rakshita Agarwal|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. ~Anachronist (talk) 22:37, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am not a paid editor and is not paid by anyone for writing this article. I am not connected to the subject in any way. I am a student and was driven with the concept of the magazine and thought it is relevant enough to be up on wikipedia. Rakshita Agarwal (talk) 17:22, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello, I'm QueerEcofeminist. I noticed that a page you started Draft:Bombay Dost and you inserted few self-published links as references. Please go through WP:RS this policy before you edit further.
  • Additionally don't revert anyone's changes without discussing it with them on talkpage.
  • So, hope you will understand the policy soon and remove all the self published references from this draft.
  • You can use more reliable references from books like gay bombay by Parmesh Sahani and few other books which talks about Bombay Dost in detail. You can ping me if you need any help .... QueerEcofeminist "cite! even if you fight"!!! [they/them/their] 18:18, 29 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
