Welcome!
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect intellectual property rights - do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view when editing articles - this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, doing so will result your account being blocked from editing.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! ---CliffC (talk) 15:08, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Howard Beach, Queens appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. --CliffC (talk) 15:18, 13 October 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm I dream of horses. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, Phil Bryant, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. I dream of horses If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message (talk to me) (My edits) @ 22:23, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Ozone Park Residents Block Association Cityline Ozone Park Civilian Patrol Facebook Group
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Ozone Park Residents Block Association Cityline Ozone Park Civilian Patrol Facebook Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Rgse90. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. This is an encyclopaedia, not a platform for your organisation Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:57, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Epicgenius. I wanted to let you know that one or more external links you added to Ozone Park, Queens have been removed because they seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Per the policy Wikipedia:External links#Links normally to be avoided, which says "Except for a link to an official page of the article's subject, one should generally avoid providing external links to: networking sites (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram), chat or discussion forums/groups (such as Facebook Groups), Usenet newsgroups or email lists." I have removed the Facebook link from the Ozone Park article. Such links are almost never allowed without good reason, and they are definitely not allowed in the lead section of an article, so please do not add it again without discussion.
Please also note that an editor's place of residence is irrelevant to the validity of an edit, as you may have suggested in this edit. While this is not a personal attack per se, it is discussed in the Wikipedia policy Wikipedia:No personal attacks#What is considered to be a personal attack?, which says "Using someone's affiliations as an ad hominem means of dismissing or discrediting their views". For example, you may not dismiss someone's views based on the fact that they do not live in a certain area. Epicgenius (talk) 22:45, 23 September 2021 (UTC)
Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Ozone Park, Queens. While objective prose about beliefs, organisations, people, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. [edit]Hello, I'm Largoplazo. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Tea dance (gay event) have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Largoplazo (talk) 18:57, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
