Hi, RyanXzavier. Thanks for your message. I just wanted to share some tips with you in order to keep that page running if you really want to see it grow. Whether it's me, or someone else, inevitably a speedy deletion tag would have been put on the article if it remains the same. I can see that on your talkpage that a tag has been placed on it on more than one occasion. The best advice I can give you is to expand the article, and include sources that would prove her credibility and her significance. WP:MOS, WP:V, and WP:NEW would all be three great places to turn to if you need help. It's also better to follow the directions to the speedy deletion tag, rather than removing it. Placing the hangon tag gives you time and a chance to explain the significance of the article to people looking at it. Deleting the tag (I believe) actually re-adds the page back to the list of new pages and will generate the attention of another user that is looking for articles to tag. If you have any questions or need help, don't be afraid to message me. If I don't have an answer, I will find someone that does. Beano (talk) 06:13, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. One thing that would help a lot is to add a reliable source. Is there an online article that credits her for the song you mentioned? That would be a good start. I made a small edit to the sentence structure on the first sentence of the page. Check it out and let me know what you think. Keep in mind that sentences like "The soundtrack is said to be one of the most dynamic, yet creative releases on the LOGO music networks" would be something that would be conflicting with WP:NPOV. Make sure anything that is uniquely edited or put on that article is supported by a source. That will help retain credibility. Beano (talk) 06:33, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
When you find a source, you will want to add it either as a reference section in the article, or add a footnote reference in a sentence that needs it. Adding Citations will help you with this. The link provided teaches you how to cite sources, add footnotes, everything. You can also check pages that are edited often here in Wikipedia to see what citations and cited sentences look like. Pages like Myspace, Microsoft, or Wikipeida (yeah, they have their own article LOL). I do that sometimes when I run into difficult situations. I googled the name and album for you, but nothing credible that could be used here popped up. Just stores wanting to sell the album. Let me know if you have any more questions. Beano (talk) 06:48, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sources from myspace are discouraged on wikipedia because it doesn't hold true significance (i.e. anyone can make a myspace). A credible source would be from a website that is trusted, or whose author is trusted (i.e. an imdb.com article is a credible site to cite significance to a movie star). Generally, how I think of it as is this: If you wouldn't put it in a school report or a term paper, it's not a reliable source. Beano (talk) 07:08, 12 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The amazon reference provided isn't the best in my opinion. Although it does credit Nikki Jane as a contributor to the album, the source's main purpose is to advertise and sell the album. That wouldn't be credible to an admin here. The second one is better. It provides information and pictures of Nikki Jane, but it is a blog site. That isn't bad, but blogs generally are changed or removed as time goes by. You are getting off to a very well start. Update my talk page if you have any questions. Speedy deletion of Nikki Jane

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Nikki Jane requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
