Information icon Hello, I'm Utcursch. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Sham Singh Atariwala, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. utcursch | talk 13:56, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or a topic ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Sandhawalia, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. utcursch | talk 22:39, 13 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Sham Singh Atariwala. Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Shellwood (talk) 13:38, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Notice that you are now subject to a community enforced topic ban

[edit]

For continued addition of unsourced information regarding castes despite multiple requests and warnings not to do so., I have decided, in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the terms of this community discussion, to impose the following sanction on you:

indefinitely Topic banned from anything related to social groups of South Asia including but not limited to castes and clans such as Jat etc across all name spaces of the English Wikipedia

This sanction has been logged at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction to the community at the administrators' noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me on my talk page, before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. —SpacemanSpiff 03:58, 15 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for persistently adding unsourced or poorly sourced caste-related content to biographies. Please use this time to read Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  utcursch | talk 17:03, 17 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Please read Wikipedia:Tutorial/Citing sources and Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources, if you haven't already. Websites like royalfamilyofindia.com are not acceptable sources. When in doubt, you can consult other editors at Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Noticeboard. utcursch | talk 20:50, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia is not a platform to glorify your caste / clan. If you are not here to build an encyclopedia, you will end up getting blocked. Please stop making unsourced additions like 'X was from Y caste/clan' without citing a reliable source. The next time you do this, you'll be blocked indefinitely. utcursch | talk 15:23, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
