Shigeomi Hasumi moved to draftspace
[edit]Unfortunately, an article you recently created Shigeomi Hasumi, is not ready as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage with citations from reliable and independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. I've moved your article to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's WP:GNG guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!
" button at the top of the page. M.Ashraf333 (talk) 16:15, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
- @M.Ashraf333 TBH I thought 7 sources were enough for this deceased Mainichi Film Award for Best Music nominee and winner to qualify for GNG. Notice that the subject also has an article at Japanese Wikipedia. In fact I translated this article from that one. I added seven more sources and submitted the draft for review. Notice of Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is User:Siggfried persistently adding unsourced population figures to Arabs in Belgium. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 15:24, 25 March 2023 (UTC)
- Siggfried, this discussion has gone on all day and I see no one supporting your argument and defense. You are truly digging yourself in a hole when you start making personal attacks against other editors. Try to hear what message other editors are trying to tell you about Wikipedia policies and back away before you find yourself blocked. It's you, a new editor, arguing about policy with very experienced editors, I think you should stop taking this personally and walk away with their reminders about V in mind. This is a no-win dispute. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Liz (talk • contribs) 01:49, 26 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Liz There is a lot of misunderstanding on that admin section. I don't claim and never claimed that WP:V isn't paramount, or that I can publish stuff without sources. Quite the opposite of that: just look at my translations and compare them with the original articles. Larry had already pointed out there were some few unsourced stuff at Arabs in Belgium, and I acknowledged that I had forgotten to paste the source from wp:nl, and that I didn't check, even apologizing. Further, on the same admin section I declared I would follow WP:V (which they suggest me to do) even though I was already doing it and never stopped. My problem, what I am arguing about there, is another. First, Larry shouldn't have resorted to the admins so quickly; and second, I earnestly believe the approach of Larry and the other user is not advisable for that or any article. Why deleting stuff without giving other editors (especially the op) a chance to provide sources? And as an example of this: Larry had already removed a bunch of stuff from the article Arabs in Belgium, I had it in my watchlist fortunately, and was able to restore the content and quickly provided sources for it. It was easy, because the (quite plausible) content I translated was based on reliable sources. But suppose I hadn't had that page on my watchlist... that content would be now lost, even though it was verifiable, and quite easily so as well. Siggfried (talk) 08:54, 26 March 2023 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
