Hello, I have no idea who this AndInFirstPlace person is. I've seen them comment on this article and I just happen to agree with them but otherwise I have no relation to them whatsoever. There are a lot of passionate political observers out there (just check out Reddit and Twitter) and Yang has a lot of people who genuinely believe he is a serious candidate and can win. After 2016 and the victory of AOC over Crowley, I could see it and think the distinction between major and other declared is probably specious. It doesn;t matter one white if there are "passionate people" who believe that Yang can win. The only thing that matters is whether a reliable source refers to Yang as a "major declared candidate". Having an article declare you as a "major declared candidate"was never part of the criteria listed and discussed and debated by people. It was holding political office or having 5 major polls list you. We were debating the veracity of those criteria and also mentioning Yang had held political office. Then the entire thing needs to be scrapped, because we should never be the ones determining who is and who isn;t a "major candidate". There's no special dispensation for the requirement for verifiability by way of citations from reliable sources. Beyond My Ken (talk) 08:35, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
