Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:08, 9 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Causes of autism are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. - 2/0 (cont.) 21:40, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to delete or edit legitimate talk page comments, as you did at Talk:Causes of autism, you may be blocked from editing. Dbrodbeck (talk) 22:37, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Its simple really

[edit]

Talkpages are for discussing how to improve the articles, not for publishing new ideas or new interpretations of other peoples research. It is a bad idea to make identical posts to multiple talkpages, because that way it makes it difficult for editors to have a single discussion on the issue. In this case you have received a lot of feedback telling you that the material you suggest to include cannot be included within current wikipedia policies. This makes it even less reasonable to post it to multiple talkpages. If you want to avoid similar inconveniences in the future you should familiarize yourself with our policies: WP:V, WP:OR, WP:SYNTH, and WP:TALK.·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 15:30, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why do that when I can learn them from friendly folk such as yourself? Slartibartfastibast (talk) 15:33, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
That is of course correct, I am here to be of help to you and other editors. I would still maintain that it is a good idea to read the policies and strive to follow them as well as possible. Also in the future please refrain from referring to other editors as bitch[1] since most people find this to be rude. ·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 15:55, 29 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar

[edit]
The Original Barnstar
This barnstar is awarded to everyone who - whatever their opinion - contributed to the discussion about Wikipedia and SOPA. Thank you for being a part of the discussion. Presented by the Wikimedia Foundation.

A tag has been placed on File:Beliefs.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a file licensed as "for non-commercial use only", "no derivative use", "for Wikipedia use only", or "used with permission"; and it has not been shown to comply with the limited standards for the use of non-free content. If you agree with the deletion, there is no need to do anything. If, however, you believe that this image may be retained on Wikipedia under one of the permitted conditions then:

  • state clearly the source of the image. If it has been copied from elsewhere on the web you should provide links to: the image itself, the page which uses it and the page which contains the license conditions.
  • add the relevant copyright tag and if necessary, a complete fair use rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
