Trainsandotherthings (talk) 03:16, 31 October 2022 (UTC)Archive?
[edit]Hello! I just wanted to request that you archive your user talk page. While it may not be bothersome to you, many editors have slow connections, and having a very large talk page can hamper communication. If you need help, just check out the guide over at Help:Archiving a talk page. Thanks! ~~~~

Hi. I'm a big fan
[edit]I've made a draft that I am working on right now and I was thinking can you help work on it (Only if you have found any sources for it)
Once you have got everything on that article ready, I will submit the draft myself.
Draft in question: Iowa Interstate 6988 LB&SCR E2 (talk) 08:26, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
- I can’t take care of that draft at the moment, since I have to work today, and there are other pages I still have to take care of. However, I can list a few references for you to look into buying and using for No. 6988.
- [1] - A book about all things Chinese QJ’s.
- [2] [3] - Some magazines with articles about Nos. 6988 and 7081’s arrival in the states.
- [4] - A magazine with an article about Train Festival 2011, in which 6988 participated in. Someone who likes train writing (talk) 15:40, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
- I'll give you some time to do it once you've got back from work, so I won't be hassling you or anything like that, I'll let you take your time. LB&SCR E2 (talk) 21:04, 5 May 2024 (UTC)
- I've recently made another draft which is Southern Pacific 2252. Is there any sources that you can provide me. If there's any books or newspapers or even magazines about the locomotive that you've found can you provide me the page numbers and I'll add them. Because the last thing I want this article is for it to meet GNG. LB&SCR E2 (talk) 10:56, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
- I can’t find any sources in Trains.com or Newspapers.com about No. 2522 whatsoever. It’s probably so obscure that I can’t imagine any major sources that cover it. You can probably buy one of these books here [5] [6] [7], but I can’t think of anything else related to No. 2522’s class. Someone who likes train writing (talk) 19:21, 27 May 2024 (UTC)

Great Western 90
[edit]Just to give you a heads up, there were these two users that were vandalizing the Great Western 90 article with joke information etc. The article is back to its original self, but the users haven’t been warned for their vandalism edits. I know your not an admin, I just wanted to give you heads up about these two users. Because you always do a great job keeping an eye on these articles. 31.210.50.129 (talk) 21:30, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- I already looked at No. 90’s edit history, but thank you for letting me know. If you want to let an admin know about this situation, I’d recommend talking to Trainsandotherthings or PRRfan. Someone who likes train writing (talk) 21:58, 10 September 2024 (UTC)

Preserved locomotive you might be interested in writing about
[edit]Hello,
I realized today that we don't have an article yet on Everett Railroad 11 [8]. It's a 2-6-0 that was originally built in 1920 by Alco intended for shipment to Cuba, but ended up with the Narragansett Pier Railroad in 1923. It later went to the Bath and Hammondsport Railroad, was retired in 1949 and went to a planned rail museum in New York, returned to the Narragansett Pier Railroad again in 1977 and was partially restored, went to the Middletown and New Jersey Railroad and was stored indoors, was bought by the Everett Railroad in 2006, went to Western Maryland Scenic Railroad's shops for a full restoration, and in 2015 finally started pulling trains for the Everett Railroad. It was converted to an oil burner in 2022. I figured you were the ideal editor to write an article on the locomotive. There's a few sources already in the Narragansett Pier Railroad which could help you get started. I'd be happy to collaborate on the article with you if you'd like. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 20:55, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
- @Trainsandotherthings: Oh, I absolutely can! I’ll have to look through Newspapers.com and Trains magazine’s archives for a hunt for additional sources, but I figure I can pull off a page for No. 11. I’ve always planned on making a page for that locomotive, albeit as a low priority.
- Right now, though, I’m still trying to flesh out the history section of the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway page. Research on that company has been such a rabbit hole, but I have gotten a lot of the history section completed by this point. All what’s left now is the Delaware Otsego section. If you want to, you can look at what I’ve done with that page so far. Someone who likes train writing (talk) 21:03, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
