License tagging for File:ISU 1st SSP Brochure 1988.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ISU 1st SSP Brochure 1988.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 13:05, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources for Wikipedia articles

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article International Space University, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.

Hi there. You have added a very large amount of material to the article International Space University, much of it unsourced. You should take the time to immediately get your head around WP:V, WP:RS and WP:CS in order to cite all that stuff right away. Else, I think it has a pretty high probability that an editor will come along and remove all or most of it. If you would like help writing a quality "first citation", I'll be glad to help you. You find the info needed for the source, and ping me on my Talk page; I'll help write a good citation to show you how. Cheers. One more thing. I notice from your username that you may be affiliated somehow with the Space University. I'm not much up on the Wikipedia policy on conflicts of interest myself, but Wikipedia has some very strict policy about such conflicts, and what information those with conflicts of interest should, and should not, do. As well, there is some policy I've seen, but am not familiar with off the top of my head, about what information you should, therefore, formally release about yourself on your Talk page. I'm saying this to help you, as I'm sure you don't want to lose a lot of work you've put in recently if you can help it. I'm unlikely to be the editor that pursues it with you, but I know many editors who will. (I'm more likely to get after removing a lot of the recently added new material in the International Space University article if you don't get it sourced, with non-primary sources.) Cheers. Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company, organization, or clients. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.
