Speedy deletion nomination of Caio Pagano
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Caio Pagano, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Caio Pagano moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Caio Pagano. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources and it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 02:13, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
I removed the speedy deletion tag from your article:
- I did not think it was "unambiguous advertising"
- It did not "need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic."
- I disagree that it “does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant”. Reviews in the New York Times and the Washington Post are significant.
I dream of horses subsequently moved the article to "draft space".
I see a problem, though, that could cause the article to be deleted. Give these guidelines a quick look:
- Wikipedia:Notability
- Wikipedia:Notability (music)
- Wikipedia:Notability (people)
- Wikipedia:Reliable sources
(We have a zillion rules and I still don’t know every little detail after 19 years and 50,000 edits so don’t get too intimidated.)
If you don’t establish that is notable (by Wikipedia’s requirements), then we can’t keep the article. If the reviews provide substantive coverage of Caio Pagano, then add citations to them. Just provide references and you’re good to go.
Thanks for creating this article. —A. B. (talk • contribs • global count) 02:27, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and nominated the article for a BLPPROD. Basically, you have a week to find those references that A. B. is talking about. We simply can't have unsourced articles about living people on Wikipedia, because of the risk and legal liability of defamation. If he's been written about by the New York Times and Washington Post, finding those sources should be pretty easy. Figuring out how to insert them into the article might be an ordeal; that's why referencing for beginners was written. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 03:43, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
The article Caio Pagano has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
