Welcome!

Hello, Steve0999, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!  Just zis Guy you know? 18:36, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article you created at Stephen pope was listed for deletion as An article about a real person that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject, criterion 7 in the criteria for speedy deletion, Articles section. Since it appears to be about you I've moved it to your user space instead, which was probably what you intended in the first place (a common mistake among newcomers!).

If you really did mean to create an article about yourself please be aware that this is often considered a bad idea, even if you do meet the guidelines for inclusion of biographies.

I know Wikipedia can be confusing for new editors, so you are welcome to ask for help at the help desk or on my talk page. Just zis Guy you know? 18:36, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:BJTcover.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:BJTcover.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 17:06, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

3 revert rule violation

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Article. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:25, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FYI, I have reported your 3RR violation here: WP:AN/3RR. -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:15, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 12 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating the three-revert rule at Joseph J. Romm. Please be more careful to discuss controversial changes or seek dispute resolution rather than engaging in an edit war. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|your reason here}} below. Kbthompson (talk) 23:15, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I've blocked you for 12 hours for reverts. There is some discussion on the talk page - and when the block is over, please do expand that dialogue. You may even be right in relation to sources, but that's a decision that needs to be reached by consensus, not edit warring with the other participants. Should that discussion be problematic, you may wish to bring the matter up at WP:RSN. Kbthompson (talk) 23:28, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Visiting Wikipedia is like traveling to an alternate universe. No wonder it's the butt of so many jokes. Steve0999
I'm glad you retain your sense of humour, but rules are rules; and on this occasion you broke them. Kbthompson (talk) 16:18, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Two quick notes

[edit]

Hi Steve0999, two quick notes about these removals. When removing reliably sourced content, please make sure to leave an edit summary explaining why you think the change is necessary; the problem may not be obvious to other editors (as in this case; I have restored the material as I'm not sure what's wrong with it.) Also, please take care only to mark an edit "minor" if it requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute (so, typos, italicizing a book title if someone forgot, etc.) If your edit changes the entry's meaning in any way, generally it shouldn't be marked as minor. This is important because many editors use a filter on their watchlists and don't see any marked as minor/uncontroversial, so adhering to the policy on what it means is an important point of community trust. Thanks much. Innisfree987 (talk) 22:00, 4 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Business Jet Traveler

[edit]

Hello, Steve0999

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username TheLongTone and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Business Jet Traveler, should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Business Jet Traveler.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|TheLongTone}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

(Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)
