Again, welcome! --ZappaZ 02:15, 26 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, TBH, the reason for the Atwater Kent image's large size was for additional information. Only at that size can the relevant ad text be read. Pepso 14:56, 10 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

Thank you for putting a message on my talk page. The dog you have is cute (I looked at the article picture). I hope this doesn't anger you but I'm not an athiest. By the way, what's you favorite historic period. Mine's the Vietnam War.--HistoricalPisces 17:08, 26 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Summaries

[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:40, 29 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you uploaded Image:Pink mouth.jpg and have tagged it as {{CopyrightedFreeUse}}. However there is no source for the image or assertion that this is the correct copyright status for the image. Evil MonkeyHello 05:47, 30 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

David Cross

[edit]

Hi Phil. I like to respond to people on their own talk pages as well as mine. I didn't realize that the atheist list was divided into notable and not-so-notable atheists and I had added him to the notable list. I just removed him from that list, but he's still listed on the other list. I think that list needs to be re-structured. Mycota 17:33, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Xenosaga mini-articles

[edit]

All of these articles, outside of the main characters, were merged into huge lists (Side Characters, Other, Star Ships, Organizations, and Planets. I was wondering if those mini articles could be deleted. The last thing we need is people editing those pages and linking to those pages, when they are merged into convienent lists. I have already begun going through each page and making sure all links to Xenosaga things link to those lists, or to one of the main characters, etc. Deckiller 12:20, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

They're already merged, so I'll start those redirects asap ^_^ Deckiller 13:23, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

-=nods=- That's why I didn't create a list for the main characters last month when I was merging. Redirects really saves on the work. Deckiller 14:22, 10 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, the redirects are done ^_^ Deckiller 02:02, 13 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Clean up

[edit]

It took me awhile, but I finally got around to overhauling all of the DOA character pages, as well as creating new ones. I noticed that you had done an article on Zack and Brad Wong, and I fixed those up. If possible, tke a look at the character pages and tell me what you think of my efforts.-MegamanZero 11:24 25, November 2005

I have to say, the stub label on the Elliot (DOA) article is somewhat irrelevant and unnescessary seeing as how that is all the information available on the character. I will not remove thr stub for a few days in order to hear a response on this, thanks. --OniOokamiAlfador 07:35, 3 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What's up with the notice on Bass's character page..? I'm getting ready to overhall it, so I'm going to remove it.-MegamanZero 12:56 3,December 2005 (UTC)

Featured article for December 25th

[edit]

I noticed that you have listed yourself as an atheist Wikipedian. You will probably be interested to know that Brian0918 has nominated Omnipotence paradox as the front page article for December 25th. You can vote on this matter here. The other suggestion being supported by others for that date is Christmas, although Raul654 has historically been against featuring articles on the same day as their anniversary/holiday. May I inquire why Nicole is inserted into the main characters classification of the DOA template..? Her involvement in the story is minimal at best, and storywise, she is almost non-notable. I just found that odd, is all. -MegamanZero|Talk 14:45, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Toledo radio stations

[edit]

Thanks for your great work in putting up some Toledo radio station articles last weekend. I made some modification to the sorting of the Toledo radio stations category. Since all of the articles start with the letter W, it might be preferable to sort by the second letter. This is what is done in other similar radio station categories where, otherwise, all of the articles would start with the same letter because they are all radio station call signs. Also, if the articles are put in the Toledo radio stations category, they should not also be in the Ohio radio stations category, since the Toledo one is a subcategory of the Ohio one. This is a Wiki guideline that I violated in the past and that was brought to my attention later. Again, thanks. --Hillrhpc 17:12, 20 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Catholic schoolgirl.gif. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. • You nominated this for speedy deletion. Under WP:CSD, it isn't patent nonsense which requires the article to be unintelligible. I have removed the tag accordingly. Given that there was no consensus when this matter was put up for Afd, you may wish to list this again at Articles for Deletion. Capitalistroadster 06:23, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

List of shock sites nominated for deletion for a fourth time

[edit]

The article List of shock sites has been nominatied for deletion again. I noticed that during its past nominations for deletion you voted to have the article deleted. If you have time, please support me in my attempt to have this article deleted by casting your vote in favour of deletion. Thank you. - Conrad Devonshire 07:25, 15 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there! Regarding Image:Sunshine nee.jpg... you can't claim fair use to pictures that are not freely available. Photos from a member section are to be paid for, and as such posting them on Wikipedia violates fair use clauses and the copyright holder's own Terms of Use. Unless the image is released into the public domain or copyleft license, it can't be posted on Wikipedia. Given this, I have nominated it for deletion of Images for Deletion. If you have uploaded any other images, I would suggest making sure that they qualify as fair use and IFDing the ones that do not meet the image use policy criteria. If you have any questions, please let me know, I am willing to assist you. -- Joe Beaudoin Jr. Think out loud 18:42, 21 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Simone (porn star), by 151.203.18.206, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Simone (porn star) fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

How does this person remotely satisfy the criteria laid out in WP:BIO?

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Simone (porn star), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Simone (porn star) itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 23:15, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Gulphog.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Gulphog.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit]

I have tagged Image:Albedo_Piazzola.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. MER-C 12:03, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Viper M1.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Notability of Cumfiesta

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Cumfiesta, by Valrith (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Cumfiesta seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Cumfiesta, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 21:57, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Lionel.JPG

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Lionel.JPG. I noticed the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 03:48, 23 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Rural SA.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Rural SA.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Pagrashtak 05:08, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Pastor peters.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Pastor peters.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:29, 8 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mary and shelly.PNG

[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Mary and shelly.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. I have nominated Simone (pornographic actress), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Simone (pornographic actress). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
