commenting out cats on my sandbox
[edit]ref: Comment by TStein on NeoMerlin's Talk Page
Thanks for commenting out the categories on my sandbox. I was in the middle of rewriting something when I went to bed so I just copy-pasted and completely forgot about that. TStein 10:39, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
merge??
[edit]ref: Comment by TStein on Edcolins' talk page
You added merge tags to Lab notebook and Inventor's notebook. However you didn't leave a comment on either discussion page suggesting why you wanted these articles merged. You didn't even leave a comment on either discussion page noting that you had proposed a merge, or date the merge tags. Could you please return to the articles in question and finish your merge proposal? TStein 13:02, 1 January 2007 (UTC)
Person

I appreciate that you read the talk page before editing, but your edit summary said:
"I have thouroghly read throught the discussion and cannot agree that you hgave fixed the page as the word people does not appear in the article no and persons is back to Being exclusive)"
The Person article had been edited since then and someone else had changed all instances of "people" to "persons" misunderstanding the talk page resultion. Had you looked at the edit history, you could have seen my edit as having properly used "persons" and "people", and reverted to that edit. Instead you reverted to an edit which in addition to making no sense in places, because of the "personhood" issue, purposefully had misquotes and incorrect references.
Often when someone makes big changes they fix important things that must be fixed, and they also change things that shouldn't be fixed. I don't believe that was the case with my edit, as you saw a subsequent edit, but had it been, it's important to look at just what is changed so that you can make a partial revert if necessary. This was a really important edit, so I made sure to mention the misquoting in the edit summary and on the talk page in case someone didn't look at the edit difference. Welcome!
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.
Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so, as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and edit articles; however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is 201.78.97.20). Logging in does not require any personal details, and there are many other benefits for logging in.
When you edit pages:
- Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
- Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such content or editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. For now, if you are stuck, you can click the edit this page tab above, type {{helpme}}
in the edit box, and then click Save Page; an experienced Wikipedian will be around shortly to answer any questions you may have. Also feel free to ask a question on my talk page. I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia. TStein 02:02, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
