Liwa al-Mujahid Omar al-Mukhtar was a Syrian rebel group active in eastern Syria during the Syrian Civil War. The group was based in the Syrian border town of Abu Kamal in the Deir ez-Zor Governorate. The group had no official ideology other than the goal of overthrowing the Syrian government.
