Notice of edit warring noticeboard discussion

[edit]

Information icon Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Thank you. Teishin (talk) 22:21, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve been giving a reliable sources like Brittanica in case of porphyry it clearly says that he’s Syrian knowing that I didn’t delete the term Phoenician Yes he is, I’ve just added the term Syrian, same goes with Zeno of citium, teishin is very biased, and I think he has personal problems with Syria Tariq afflaq (talk) 22:29, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Britannica is a reliable source per https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:RS but https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Teishin

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 48 hours for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Per a complaint at the edit warring noticeboard. Disputes about the nationality of famous people are surprisingly common on Wikipedia. (Everyone likes to boost their own favorite country). This makes it even more important for you to wait for agreement on the talk page before making these changes. EdJohnston (talk) 18:16, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Block on your account is now extended to indefinite since you were evading it with an IP. EdJohnston (talk) 22:10, 3 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Tariq afflaq, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
