Welcome

[edit]

Hi there,

Thank you for getting in touch. Firstly, I didn't remove Hughes' transfer fee from his page - I just reworded it from "£3,000,000" to "£3million" (which is standard Wikipedia style). Second, I don't really see the point of a separate list of Arsenal transfers since 2000; general Wikipedia consensus has been to list those in the "Transfers" section in articles such as 2006-07 in English football. You'd be better off adding the Arsenal-related transfers on a season-by-season basis.

Your recent edits expanding player biographies have been welcome, however a few extra pointers to take on board:

Hope that helps. Thanks again for getting in touch and welcome to Wikipedia! Qwghlm 16:22, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Www.thumbbandits.com

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Www.thumbbandits.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. BencherliteTalk 23:48, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Now that you have expanded the article a bit, I've removed the speedy delete tag as there's probably a sufficient assertion of notability for the article to pass the speedy deletion criteria. However, I suspect that the article is still vulnerable to deletion by another method unless it's improved further. As it's not really my field, I probably won't be able to help but you will probably be able to find editors who know something and who can help. Sorry, but I still think the article doesn't assert that this website is notable per WP:WEB. It doesn't cite any sources to show that the website is notable. And the Alexa ranking is below 260,000. Unless you can find some independent sources showing notability, this one is going to stay deleted. NawlinWiki 00:17, 28 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict with NawlinWiki}Ah well, the article has gone. If you can write an improved version of the article, it would have a better chance of surviving scrutiny. In addition to NawlinWiki's comments, I suggest that you look at Wikipedia:Notability (web) for guidance, and that you consider writing the article in a personal sandbox {e.g. User:The German Flower Pot/sandbox before moving the contents to the main article space.
