Need help with COVID-19-data module

[edit]

Hi @Tol we are experiencing an error on the COVID-19 data Module on our wiki. af:Module:Koronaviruspandemie_van_2019-2020. The error says that on line 149 it is "attempting to concatenate field 'name' (a nil value)"

I see on the enwiki Module someone made changes to the code to fix a similar issue, but then you rolled those changes back. The enwiki module seems fine, but the afwiki module still has issues. If you get some time, please could you have a look? I've udpated the Lua code to be exactly the same as on enwiki, but we still have the same error.

Any help would be appreciated. - Rooiratel (talk) 17:13, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Rooiratel: Thanks for letting me know. Some newly added locations were missing names. I've applied the fix to the data. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 18:40, 3 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from YaBoyLuke (15:28, 18 May 2023)

[edit]

Hello Tol, What is the purpose of editing, and how may it help others? I ask this since I am trying to publish a book. --YaBoyLuke (talk) 15:28, 18 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, @YaBoyLuke, and welcome to Wikipedia! Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia that can be edited by anyone. Editing Wikipedia can help readers through increasing the scope and accuracy of its encyclopedic information. I don't think editing Wikipedia would be particularly relevant to publishing a book — just be aware that there are additional guidelines that you must follow if you write about yourself or your book. Is TolBot-Task8 affected by the replag?

[edit]

Hi Tol, there is a high replication lag for the wiki db servers right now. I just wanted to check if the Bot is affected by this? (My guess is No). The end of the drive is coming up, and if my guess is wrong, we can postpone calculations for the awards till after the replag is brought down to 0 by the WMF engineers. cc @Zippybonzo. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 02:59, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@MPGuy2824, the bot uses the API, not wiki replicas, so it shouldn't be affected by the replication lag. Tol (talk | contribs) @ 19:29, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
