List of Canadian UFC fighters and Brad Katona - independent, reliable sources

[edit]

Hi Tsims23, Greetings. As I have stated in my talk page regarding List of Canadian UFC fighters, the ref from tapology or sherdog (in Wikipedia we use Sherdog.com for MMA fighter - as per WP:MMA guidelines, should be use for the "fight record". You have the column for "Notes" and " Notable Wis" then it should have a second ref for the claimed. I have added 2 ref columns you but you remove on of them. Pls note Sherdog/Tapology/UFC/Official web site/ home page/ page that associated with the subject/ User generated site (Twitter/Instragram/etc) are considered not independent/reliable (Sherdog article is independent and reliable but not the fight record). For such it can not used to support the content claimed strictly. I have improved the ref for you on Brad Katona and you have to do that on List of Canadian UFC fighters. Pls see List of current UFC fighters for example. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:17, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello CASSIOPEIA , thank you for doing that i saw u at onetime tried to make him a page. i also contacted Brad Katona via twitter for his rankings in bbj and karate and his current residence. i understand what u mean ive started it update List of Canadian UFC fighters with refs from news outlets i have done alot. and i know im sorry for removing 1st ref column it just looked bad plus no other articles have 2 like that(much rather just write it in without a column, if i can actually have them in second one), and i understand if i cant use Sherdog/Taplogy what sites should i use for reference? most of the new refs ive entered do state there records and achievements on news sites especially the retirement ones(as they summarize whole career)Tsims23 (talk) 05:43, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tsims23, Good day.
(1) you NEED to "ping" WP:PING the editor you send a message on "ALL" talk page except their talk page to so they will receive a notification of you message. For example, if you write a message to me on "my" talk page then you dont need to ping me since it is my talk page. However, if you write to me on "your talk page" or any other talk page, then you need to ping me. For IP editor, besides pinging them, you need to got to their talk page and let them know you send a message to them and provide the link for IP editors could not receive a notification as they are not registered in Wikipedia.
(2) Brad Katona - Pls "STOP" contacting any subjects who you edit their pages or you intent/have created their page for you are have a conflict of interest (pls read WP:COI. Wikipedia strongly discourage editor has COI to edit/create the affected page. You need to do two things since you have a COI on Brad Katona page. (1) disclosed your COI on your user page and (2) disclosure you COI on Brad Katona talk page - instruction can be found on WP:COI. (This is important and make sure you do that asap).
(3) List of Canadian UFC fighters - add a ref column after the mma record and you and put Sherdog.com fighter source there. The far right ref column is for "Note" or "Notable Win" Info. Since many of the subjects have pages/articles in Wikipedia, you might able to find the source there.
(pls remember to do the (2) asap. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 06:35, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA Hey. i read the article and i dont understand how to do it and i cant find any youtube videos on how to do it. so im screwed. you can just delete my stuff i feel like giving up. Theres just hurtels(too complicated) at every turn and im not good enough to make the cut thats how i feel atleastTsims23 (talk) 06:55, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA sorry I'm just having a rough day. I will try my best but I really dont understand half of the stuff that I gotta do to disclose CEO. Im not try to be bias when writing it I just wanted to get the info I could just claim I got it from ufc fight he had they say there disaplines before the fight starts(didnt think of that at the time tho)I cant give up I've already wasted to much time(should say dont want it to be a waste)Tsims23 (talk) 07:13, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for pinging me. Appreciate it. Dont give up. I am here to help. When I started editing in Wikipedia, I have no help (don "t know where and who to turned to). I just spend hours reading guidelines, links after links for months to familiar myself with all the info I need to know. Even today, I still have tons of things I am learning every weeks. To edit Wikipedia is a complicated process and steep learning curve. Once you have a hang of it, then it is not difficult after all. When you read the links (Wikipedia page - the title started with WP:xxxxxxxxx / Wikipedia:xxxxxxx), you might need to read a few times, slowly and follow the instructions (You really need to take your time to read). To disclose your COI, go to WP:DISCLOSE. Click on "show" on "Connected contributor template" and "UserboxCOI template" and the templates will appear. User "Connected contributor template" on article talk page (Brad Katona talk page) and "UserboxCOI template" on your user page - which is HERE. Let me know if you need further assistance. You can write me here (your talk page - pls ping me) or pop to my talk page. Btw pls add additional ":" from the previous message before start writing (: = one space indentation to the right. - this is a protocol of Wikipedia talk page communication). Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:24, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA I do appreciate your help. Wouldn't really have understood anything if u hadn't explained it. Usually I just dont have the to read all that stuff so I use videos but if there isn't a video on how to do It I'm in trouble. And I looked at the template thing and the only thing I understand is were to put my name i dont know what u1 declared means and i dont have any links for it. I dont think I'll be able to do it. It to confusing I'm trying to use ur instructions. But I'm just retarded. I says place
where do I put that article already has a notice saying its messed up. I'm just to frustrated. Like I need to see it happen or I'm clueless it's all just words Tsims23 (talk) 07:45, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA im probably gunna have to end up finding someone to do it cuz I dont think I can. Atleast not rate now too late I would have to go over that stuff for days before I could fix the brad katona thing. Maybe I should just stop. It's so much trouble. I've already messed up too much 1 of my articles is getting deleted and the other one I cant fix. Too stressed out tried going to see an example to see were to or how to write it I went to example and it didnt help me at all steve jobs one it literally just tells about his aids and fake news ext. Anyway I posted a template in there dont think I did it right. I'm just trying to even find where brad katona talk page is Tsims23 (talk) 07:50, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tsims23, Pls DO NOT PAID anyone to edit for you - pls see WP:PAID and that would be a WP:COI as well. You can find help in many places. (1) for editing go to WP:Teahouse. (2) for Technical - go go Wikipedia:Village pump (technical), you can place {{helpme}} on your talk page and admin will write to you on your talk page and help you or you can go to my talk page and seek help. I am a regular MMA related articles contributor in Wikipedia, you can ask me anything about MMA questions. See below and you can copy and paste accordingly (dont need to put anything on U1 for time being)

Hello, you need to read the message carefully! You place the userboxCOI on your "talk page" instead of your "userpage". Pls remove the uerboxCOI from your talk page and place it on your user page HERE (yes click on the red "HERE" link and it will take you to your user page. In addition, do forget to add additional ":' from the previous message before starting your message. (I have added for you on your previous message) CASSIOPEIA(talk) 08:40, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIAIs it maybe possible to keep it on here until he does fight 2 more times in UFC(i took a look and i apologize i didnt see that it had changed to list of all mma organizations i thought deep FC was part of what was allowed)is there a way t just like keep it kinda idol until he fights couple more times the u guys approve it. cuz i worked hard and he was super pleased with it. and i did what you asked sorry bout that. im very tired just trying to fix stuff before bedTsims23 (talk) 08:53, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Tsims23, If the page is deleted, it can be recreate when the subject (Tristan Connelly) meets the notability requirement which will take about 9 months to one year as UFC fighters normally fight one or twice a year if he is healthy, assuming Connelly has no injury and opponents do not pulled out due to whatever reasons and etc) it . What you can do copy the content into "NOTE" software (not Microsoft Word) so you dont need to recreate the content when the subject is notable but just to add few more fight info with sources. I have copy the Connelly content into Note on my computer. If you need the info when you need to recreate the page then let me know. Go to bed if you are tired. I am always here, maybe not able to answer you questions immediately if I am at work but will do when I am free. Remember i am here to help. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:15, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIAVery well do I have to delete it? I'll do it tomorrow. And yes he can maybe do it in less if he doesnt get injured usually its 3-4 fights a year and 2 fights a year for champions as it usually takes more prep and recovery time. So we will have to see. I also have it saved on a note pad so we should be good I appreciate u also getting it tho. Thank you again for the help!Tsims23 (talk) 09:26, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If you are Donald Cerrone, then you will have 4 or 4+ fights a year. If you look at the Canadian UFC fighter such as Sheldon Westcott, Chad Laprise, Jordan Mein, Misha Cirkunov, Elias Theodorou, John Makdessi, Olivier Aubin-Mercier, Hakeem Dawodu, Gavin Tucker, Mitch Gagnon and Sarah Moras (all are not champions in their weight divisions) had only on average 2 fights a year, that is same with any other fighters from other countries. Fighters have 3+ fights a year in UFC is far and few in between. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:12, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIA the average in the UFC is 3. Some have 1 some have 4 im talking about the UFC's average as whole usually 3. Will see how it goes:) https://www.tapology.com/forum/threads/11270 Tsims23 (talk) 10:17, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The link you gave is the is a forum not a reliable source. What I stated above is from fighters' fight history. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:11, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the TUF is a UFC event and not a country vs country event like FIFA, so pls remove "representing Canada" which you have put in in again after it is removed. - see [1]. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:14, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA I can send 5 links they all say 3 or more either way I could just flat out do the math I just gotta find out how many fight have been on this year. https:www.bloodyelbow.com/platform/amp/2014/1/3/5267220/2013-ufc-fights-in-numbers-stats-infographic (UFC stats for 2014)
There was 39 events in 2018 with an average of 12 fights per card making there around 456-473 bouts in a year(average) last year the ufc. With 185 fighters(on average) in the promotion competing in those 473 fights(not all fighter fight every year) that's gives an average of 2.62 fights per year. So I think we should just agree to disagree on that one I could do even more insane math but that annoying. And I will edit it but he did represent canada(he said it on the show) I will take it out the I put it in there to clean up sentences and also the word division was slept devision. Had to fix that no matter whatTsims23 (talk) 18:24, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to count, then count each and every fight fights 2018 or 2019 and see how many fights they have in a year. I counted on current Canadian fighters leverage 2 fights a year. In 2018 there are about 500+ UFC fighters in the roster and a small group did not fight (suspension/injury/etc) and majority fought. So far all fighters failed to meet MMABIO requirements of 3 fights under tier one did not survive Article for deletion (AfD) as I know. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 00:17, 12 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA Sorry for late reply had a busy weekend then the internet was out in my area for couple days. Let's just agree to disagree. About that tristan connelly page do I have to delete it ? Or does wikipedia

Hi Tsims, Good day. No worries, understand you have a busy life. Tristan Connelly has been deleted based on the Article for discussion result. When he has fought 3 fights in UFC, then you can create the article. If you want to create a Canada MMA fighter page, you can write about Kyle Nelson see HERE as he passed the mma notability guidelines. If you want me to review it once you have finished it, then ping me. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:26, 19 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA Hello. yes i saw that ill re-upload when he fits guidelines and i just may do that, ill probably finish editing the "list of Canadian UFC fighters" first, because im probably gunna need some help from the teahouse t get it all connected and on google once im done editing.
Tsims, for the list of Canada UFC fighters, you could find some of the sources from the fighter articles in Wikipedia. If you need help, you can pop by my talk page. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:24, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA I think ive finihed it. all second refs i either got from news sites or from the ref section of there wikipedia as you suggested. i made it so there is 1 legit ref for all fighter(accept ones with only couple fights in promotion, or notes that are only from looking at record) mind taking a look at it again? :) i also aske this other gentleman who reviewed my other page to also review it. i also ended up making the Kyle Nelson (fighter) page i still have to add more but it looks pree good so far. thanks againTsims23 (talk) 04:08, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIA Hello thank you for linking that stuff up :) did you take a look at page it says u reviewed it. also the other guy says he will have to go over the refs more thoroughly tomorrow but also said that it might not meet WP:LISTN standards i think it does 1.i believe my list fulfills recognized informational aspect of it. and 2 i have put way too much into this page and im not taking it down.:) im determinedTsims23 (talk) 04:37, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tsims, including @Lord Bolingbroke: here. I have reviewed Kyle Nelson (fighter) page and added ref, and wiki links on the associated pages in Wikipedia. I also reviewed List of Canadian UFC fighters and thank you for providing additional sources. However, pls note Wikipedia can NOT be the source - see WP:CIRCULAR (Wikipedia content is supported by sources from other publications) and pls removed them from the page. What I meant you can "find" sources from the fighter's Wikipedia page. Example XXX fighter have a win over yyy fighter - you might able to find the source about "xxx fighter win over yyy fighter" in either xxx or yyy fighter page in Wikipedia. For example for Olivier Aubin-Mercier "*TUF Nations Finalist(lost in the finals to Chad Laprise)", you can locate the source about this claimed on Aubin Mercier page - source #9 - HERE. Hope this clarifies. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:46, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIAnot a problem. sweet thank you very much for added those links. No worries and I will go through and do that rate now I will find the info on something else. Thanks again I'll let u know when I'm doneTsims23 (talk)
You are always welcome. I am here to help. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:04, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA Much appreciated. I have finished taking out all the wikipedia links and I have replaced them with external sources. Let me know if I missed any plz and thank you.

Tsim23, Links to Wikipedia pages are internal and not external. We put external link in "External link" section which usually one 1 or 2 in a page. I have done 2 correction on Arjan Bhullar HW section. Pls remove the URL. Remove the underscore "-". Place a pipe "|" after the article name. Place the name you want after that - see HERE. That is how a link is set up within Wikipedia page. I have sent you the page about Wikipedia markup text Help:Wikitext. Pls read as it will save you a lot of time to rework on an article. - see "3 Links and URLs" of Help:Wikitext and Wikipedia:Indentation. Pls rework on List of UFC Canada links. thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 05:58, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA ok I will try to use what u did as example and will do my best to get ur done can you by chance upload or help me upload a photo for kyle nelson it's hard haha thanks againTsims23 (talk) 00:47, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tsim23, pls see HERE (for 1 space to the right indentation by adding one extra ":" from the previous message before starting your message. - see Wikipedia:Indentation. I am helping you but you need to follow instructions careful and read the link I provide instead I am keeping provide the info and no action from you. As for the Wikipedia:Uploading images in Wikipedia, (1) editor who uploads the image need to hold the [Wikipedia:Copyrights]] of the image (the editor "is" the person who take the photo/create the image and not someone take the photo for them) and (2) the editor need to irrevocably agree to release your copyright of the images/photos you upload under the CC BY-SA 3.0 License (anyone can download the image and use it in anyway they want). I dont have Kyle Nelson photo that I have taken myself, for such I cant help you. To upload a photo/image, pls go to HERE. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:37, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome and happy editing. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 08:51, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIA hey long time :) I got another quick favor to ask I finally input the list records section. But for some reason I've entered the data in right areas. But its bumped down a level on the Finished draft. I'm so confused plus I can fix last ones boxes until I can get on my computer atleast. On my phone rate now. Thx again Tsims23 (talk) 03:14, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tsims23, Could you pls provide hist diff pls, so I may know which edit you were referring to? Pls see Wikipedia:Simple diff and link guide for info and instructions. Chers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:26, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA sorry about that I will read that asap it's just in the List of Canadian UFC fighters at the bottom. I'm just making some dinner rate now or I'd read

Wikipedia:Simple diff and link guide rate now

CASSIOPEIA I read the link but I'm kinda confused what do you want me to apply that too i do need help figuring out why its putting the information below the place I entered it. Sorry if I dont understand fully.Tsims23 (talk) 06:01, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tsims23, PLEASE add additional ":" from the previous message before you start you message, which I have mentioned to you several times. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 06:14, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA sorry about that. I get tired sometimes and miss things that's why I took a little break for a bit. Either way could you let me know if u can see what I did wrong on list record section(list of Canadian ufc fighters). I tried everything to fix it except deleting the submission title moves it into place but then I'd have to do that with whole thing which I dont mind but I don't wanna fo that if i dont have too. Thx for any helpTsims23 (talk) 06:22, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tsims23, Thank you for adding additional " : " prior reply. I dont understand your request above, and I need to see the "hist diff" (history different from 2 edits). See example here - if you want to show the hist diff of the edit made on "Rob Font vs Ricky Simon at UFC on ESPN 7" which I have made on October 30, 2019 or October 29, 2019 (My time zone is different from yours so, it might be October 29, 2019 for you) on List of current UFC fighters History page,
(Step 1) you go to List of current UFC fighters and click "view history" on top of the page and that will lead me to the "article history page".
(Step 2) Find the (i) "Rob Font vs Ricky Simon at UFC on ESPN 7" edit and (ii) Vince Murdock - brain surgery and and click the two grey dots (turn the 2 grey dots into black dots)
(Step 3) Click the "Compared Selected Revision on the top of the page (housed in a light grey box), it will lead you to another page.
(Step 4) Copy the URL - [2] and remember to nest the URL in "single" bracket. That is your hist diff.
Pls try the above and provide hist diff. thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 06:36, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA ok I think this will work it said I could just enter it as a link https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/923973898 Tsims23 (talk) 06:45, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA on the List of Canadian UFC fighters page at the bottom I added the section I linked. I enter the code in right spots but the knock out chart is under submission title and then all the rest do the same but when you go to edit the knockout section it says it's there. I'm just gunna post it here. ==List Records==

Tsims23, I added pipe+curly bracket at the end of the tables - see This hist diff. If this is not the issue then let me know. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:15, 1 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to..

[edit]

Hi Tsim 23, Since you are new to Wikipedia, I do suggest you to take up WP:Wikipedia Adventure for you to familiar with basic info and what is needed when creating a page and editing. It will take you a an hour or more to read and do the exercise, but it would serve you well in the future. I did that when I started editing in Wikipedia and it saved me from many mistakes I would have done if I had not do the exercises since I didn't have any other editors help (i didn't know where to seek help). Secondly - pls check out Help:Wikitext, there are some basic wiki markup language which you use when editing. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:26, 19 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Remove of talk page info - Archive

[edit]

Hi Tsim23, I do suggest you not to remove the messages on your talk page instead achieve them for when you apply for "certain userright in the future, admin would questions why the messages are removed (maybe you try to hide something). All edits can be seen/search from history page. See Help:Archiving a talk page and get it set up to archive automatically as per set parameter. Cheers CASSIOPEIA(talk) 06:44, 11 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Marc-Andre Barriault moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Marc-Andre Barriault, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:03, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

AfC notification: Draft:Marc-Andre Barriault has a new comment

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:Marc-Andre Barriault. Thanks! CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:05, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tsims23. Greetings. Subject has yet to fought 3 fights under top tier promotion to pass WP:MMABIO. Will move to mainspace once has has done so this weekend. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 03:07, 19 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA hello yeah I know i should have waited and I'm gunna take this chance to upload it é on the name like its supposed to be I'll do it tomorrow after fight has ended.
Hi Tsims23, You can move it to mainspace once the fight (Marc Andre Barriault vs Jun Yong Park fight) started. I will be out in a sport bar watching this event, so if you have not done so, I will do it for you when I get home and get it review for you. Enjoy the fights. Best. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:43, 20 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA sounds good I'm not to sure how to do that but I will figure it out cant be to hard. And nice you enjoy them aswell!

Moving pages, Marc-André Barriault

[edit]

Hi Tsims23, regarding moving a draft to the mainspace all you have to do is click the "more" button in the upper right-hand corner near the search bar, and after you click it "Move" should appear underneath. I moved Marc-Andre Barriault to the mainspace, but after I realised that the old article was missing the é in the title I changed it to a redirect to Marc-André Barriault. Hope that helps Inter&anthro (talk) 17:08, 21 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tsims23, Good day and I have reverted your edit on the above page. Content written needs to adhere to Wikipedia neutral point of view policy which cannot be superseded by other policies or guidelines, nor by editor consensus. Instead of (example) " "Despite a good first performance and moments of success throughout the fight, he lost the fight via unanimous decision." We simply put "He lost the fight via unanimous decision" for such we do not persuade, lead, adding any emotional connotation, add any favour, bias or etc. Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 00:30, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIA hello I do understand what u mean but what if it says it in the referenced article. Take the bias out he did have have a good first performance on short notice, it says that in the article that's not bias it's just fact. If he had a moments of success he had moment of success why should we tell the reader about that. If I do a fight report in detail I using describe what both fighters are landing and doing. Either way I agree with you on most of it except for a couple edits that take out the full situation for the viewer."Jordain was hurt early and would recover" that's not and was not ment to be bais it's just conveying the full situation to the reader. He almost lost the fight early ppl should know that. Talking about someone's accolades with honesty is different than showing bias towards them I just want the edits to convey the full situation of information. There were a little bit of errors too. Either way ppl will disagree. Stay safeTsims23 (talk) 17:06, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I have removed two words "wild" and "violent" as they are adjective which would consider WP:PEACOCK / WP:PUFFERY instead just stated "see more exchanges between the two fighters" to adhere to WP:NPOV and do note once again WP:NPOV is not only a guidlines but it is "one of the Wikipedia polices" it is not subject to editor negotiation on agreement if the content could be swayed from it. Also pls read WP:PROVEIT / WP:BURDEN - another Wikipedia policy - "All content must be verifiable. The burden to demonstrate verifiability lies with the editor who adds or restores material, and it is satisfied by providing an inline citation to a reliable source that directly supports the contribution." Since you remove the "citation needed" tag which meant you dont have intention to search for the sources, I have removed the text from achievement section. You can add the info in when you could add the sources. I welcome all editors contribution and would help any one who need a hand but as a Wikipedian to always advise and adhere to Wikipedia policies. Stay safe and cheers. Cassiopeia(talk) 22:20, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If that's the case and your calling me a liar with the hours of research I did, with the refs I did provide that u deleted I'll be removing all the content I added there is no need for it it's all "bias" and the stuff I did add to early career and other portions use the exact same links from tapology that you deleted so it all needs to be removed.and also just because I cant find an article about him winning a title in an amateur promotion that gets no news coverage(no article that arent on sherdog or tapology) it still happended regardless it on there official fight records on those site. You should have to prove how it didnt happen... id gladly challenge that with non bias of course and you reverted the the spelling errors I fixed that you made double spaces and improper wording is also to be fixed but you put it back. I'm so frustrated with s*** going on in my own life rate now this is just too much of pain in the a** so I'm removing the stuff I added I did the research and nothing is "valid" anyway. Tsims23 (talk) 22:34, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Tsim23, Please calm down. I didnt call you any name, let alone a liar. What I have informed you from day one is how to write article in Wikipedia as per Wikipedia guidelines and policies after all, this is Wikipedia. Wikipedia has many many guideline and some core policies. One of most important policies is verification especially in bibliography of a lignin person. content added need to be supported by WP:Secondary (such as newspapers/reputable sites]] (note Tapology and Sherdog databases is not a secondary source) which have no association to the subject in any form. Without verification, how does one know the info is from and does it actually happen? You and I and all other editors in Wikipedia are anonymous editors, and if I state Robert Whitaker won the Commonwealth game wresting without a citation/source which means I failed to WP:PROVEIT and the content I added does not meet WP:V. Wikipedia is all about verification. We/I dont trust Wikipedia content but the sources of the content and the sources need to be reputable and independent. Btw, please do not removed the sourced content as it is a vandalism act and you will receive warnings and if continue a block will be activated. I understand your frustration, Tsim23, as to learn the basic Wikipedia guidelines and policies and how to apply them are difficult and feel like a herculean task. I was once a new editor and have no idea where to seek help and not even know where to find the guidelines. I was fortunate to receive a welcome message and I just click the links and started reading every night for weeks. You have help here and advise from me, it is so much easier which I wish I have had back then. Take a break and enjoy the event today. (I have check many times and yet to see Draft:Tanner Boser page which I will review and place it on the main space for you as mentioned). Do always remember, I am here to help. Stay safe Tsim23 and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 23:06, 27 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIA sorry that I've taken so long to reply my internet was down for a bit last week I will do my best to follow the guidelines I was just very frustrated because I couldn't find any articles about it but I have videos should we use YouTube as a reference I didn't think so, so I didn't try either way it doesn't matter too much to me. I apologize for before. Hope you have been wellTsims23 (talk) 21:30, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tsim23, Good day. Understand the time lag due to internet problem. No worries. If the video is from a secondary news nexwork such as CNN, Fox then it can be used as the sources. Enjoy UFC 251 tmr. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 04:54, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA yeah my internet was down for about 3 days I had to get it fixed. Either way. That's good to know for future reference. I hope you enjoy the fights aswell.. Fight Island!!!Tsims23 (talk) 08:07, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

HI Tsims23, Good day. Pls do not add any bout that is targeted, rumors, verbally agreed or in works but only officially announced bouts. Thank you. Cassiopeia(talk) 01:02, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi Tsims23, Greetings. Since you have edited a number of pages of MMA related articles in Wikipedia, pls see the below info so you may understand how things work here.

  1. Pls visit Wikipedia:WikiProject Mixed martial arts and read through the MMA Wikipedia guidelines.
  2. When a bout is announced which stating "finalizing, in work, rumors, verbally agreed,  in the press, this means the bout is not official yet. Wait until it official before place it under the "Announced bouts" section of the event page.
  3. When a bout is announced in the press, editors put the match up in the  "Announced bouts" section (inline citation is needed)
  4. When UFC.com / its local web site (pls check the reference beneath the fight card table in the Wikipedia page), the editors would remove the bout in the "Announced bouts" and place it in the "fight card" section.
  5. When a fighter pulls from a fight (due to injury/or by UFC/ visa issues and etc), we placed the info in the "Background section" (inline citation needed) and remove the injured fighter name and put "TBD".
  6. When a injured fighter has been replaced, editor put the info in the background section (with inline citation). If the new match up has not been shown in the UFC.com fight card, then we will removed the match up from the fight card and place it back to "Announced section". If the match up already shown in the UFC.com then jut put the replacement fighter in the fight card section.
  7. When the event named has been announced (such as UFC Fight Night: dos Santos vs. Tuivasa) then we place the info in the background section (with inline citation). If UFC.com has shown the event names (Fight Night events or UFC on ESPN) such as UFC Fight Night: Cowboy vs. Medeiros or UFC on ESPN: Reyes vs. Weidman, then editor would move the article and article talk page name accordingly accept the flagship event such as UFC 187, UFC 242 and etc.
  8. No colour box in the fighter's page infobox at event fight card page. No title eliminator in the fight card or body text in fighter page or event page. No (c) - champion on the event fight card unless the fighter is the current champion of the weight division.
  9. "method" in the fight table is as per Sherdog.com as per WP:MMA guideline and please do not interpret the method yourself even if the method is incorrect as Wikipedia is all about WP:verification and not the true.
  10. Info box as per Sherdog. No other nick names or else we would have many nicknames pop up every time there is a internet meme.
  11. Reach as per UFC.com as Sherdog dont have the info. Pls provide inline citation.
  12. Stand - need to provide inline citation. IF you can find source to support it, leave it blank
  13. Style - "The style parameter should only be used in MMA fighters that have participated professionally or in international competitions in other combat sports (i.e. boxing or kickboxing) and who are notable in said sports and deserve an article for their merits in these other sports (i.e. Antônio Rogério Nogueira, Alistair Overeem). It is suggested to MMA editors that they actively remove the style parameter in infoboxes of MMA fighters that do not meet these criteria." Leave style for modern mma fighter as they have to train several combat disciplines.
  14. No Flag icon on info box or fight table.
  15. Info could be obtain from Sherdog on Info box - need to support by sources such as teachers, belts, notable relatives, university, occupation outside fighting career and etc.

Let me know if anything else I could help. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 03:53, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Tristan Connelly

[edit]

Hello, Tsims23. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Tristan Connelly".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 02:33, 19 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I apologize I didn't know that I was supposed to do anything else I thought we figured it all out, I'm not too sure what you're asking me to do with deleting that stuff I have no problem with the article being deleted until it fits wikipedia qualifications however I am not too well-versed on here and deleting stuff I only really know how to edit Tsims23 (talk) 19:42, 24 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Tsims23, Pls note that the flag ( Lupita Godinez ) is as per Sherdog.com - see here. Cassiopeia(talk) 05:21, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIA I just checked it out you are correct. I apologize about that I am messaging sherdog right now to correct their oversight. That's what I've been doing recently I update topology and sherdog with incomplete records. Sorry about that I will edit it when the correction has been made. And also I was able to reach out and get a list of active Canadian UFC fighters someone keeps removing active fighters off of the list even though they're still in the promotion but it is what it is. People can't really provide references of their release either Tsims23 (talk) 05:24, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tsims23, No worries I do make mistakes myself as well. If I reverted or corrected the more than once, I would have my reasons to do so. Sherdog has made mistakes as well for I have sported a few time but UFC has made very regular mistakes on the fight cards. If you are referring to UFC Canadian fighters removing from the List of current UFC fighters, that is because either, they have are no longer fight for UFC/retired/not announced by the media that are no longer competing. The list keep fighters who are current and would remov figher who are longer fighting for more than 2 years unless there are under USADA suspension (more than 2 years suspension). If the fighters for whatever reasons come back and fight again, we will just place them back to the list to keep the list "current" and fit the large file size limit. Btw, would you pls kindly revert your edit on List of current UFC fighters as it would not be nice for me to do that since we have an understanding here. When Sherdog change the flag, we will change it accordingly. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 05:38, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA We all make mistakes we are only human :). And no my list is okay people usually don't add much to it or do anything they just check my spelling errors and stuff like that which is nice. And I get what you're saying I know for a fact that they are still on the act of roster which is fine I think we have 22 active fighters right now or 23. It doesn't bother me too much but it is what it is. I understand the file space for sure and yes I will revert my edit again sorry for the confusionTsims23 (talk) 05:55, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
PS. It is more or less about some of the fighters that are active on the list specifically at lightweight we have three fighters active at lightweight. John Makdessi, Tristan Connelly and jessi Ronson who announced a return to Lightweight right after his return fight against Nicholas dalby(literally only fought at welterweight because he took the fight on short notice). Anyway I tried explaining that to the gentleman who also edits the list and he just wouldn't accept it that is my only discrepancy. I'm not even worried about the Sheldon Westscott and Chad Laprise situation I received confirmation that they are both still under contract although neither have fought and a long period of time so I don't really have an issue with their exclusionTsims23 (talk) 06:03, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
thank you for the revert. John Makdessi is on the LW and Tristan Connelly and jessi Ronson is on the WW List of current UFC fighters (We place the fighters on their last fight weight class divisions). (Sheldon Westscott last fight was in 2016 and Chad Laprise last fight in Dec 2018 - see here-2 and here-3. If they happen to return to UFC, then we will add them in. Btw, I have changed my user name from all caps to sentence case for more than a year :). Have a good day Tsims23 and stay safe. Cassiopeia(talk) 06:13, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
For your info, Chad Laprise was released from UFC in March 2020 - see here. Cassiopeia(talk) 07:54, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA sorry for the late reply work has been crazy. That is actually unfortunate to hear I don't know how I missed that. I did do some research it was not widely publicized nor has he being open about his fans with it. I apologize for that misunderstanding and everything makes sense. I don't know if Sheldon will ever be back to fight hopefully. And I apologize about the other guys on the list that I added I simply put them in the weight class in which they have spent most of their time in the promotion if there are retired but if they are active then I just move them to the weight class that they are fighting in so it makes sense I apologize for the confusionTsims23 (talk) 21:06, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No worries Tsims23. All is good. Summer is coming soon, even thought work is busy but sun is coming ;). Cassiopeia(talk) 00:07, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA thank you and indeed summer is coming soon! Finally time for some warm weather. Sherdog just updated Lupita Godinez's profile so I'm going to change your flag back to MexicoTsims23 (talk) 13:49, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I saw and thank you Tsim23. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 23:07, 20 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA of course and don't get me wrong I'd much rather her represent Canada but it is what it is. You stay safe as well and God blessTsims23 (talk) 19:09, 23 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
:) enjoy UFC 261 on Sat. Cassiopeia(talk) 00:44, 24 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA Thanks :) and it was a really good event! Hope you enjoyed it too!Tsims23 (talk) 02:16, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIA I come here to ask for advice seemed easier to just type it here. There is a current Wikipedia page that has caught my attention it does have some reference links but none of them work it just seems to be a fake website that's not justified by references in a way https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_MMA_Digest

Although it is a real mixed martial arts YouTube channel they don't have the references to keep any of the material that they have on there. I just assumed I report it or deal with it if the rules apply to people like you and I wish and didn't apply to them. Please let me know what you thinkTsims23 (talk) 17:25, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Upon even further inspection I'm just going to nominate the page for deletion if I can it doesn't really have any validity being there anyway as other MMA media organization don't usually get Wikipedia pages not a single thing is properly referenced and nothing is real all of the websites are fake they take you to either pages that you can't reach or they transfer you to pages that have nothing to do with the original link. Again please let me know what you think.Tsims23 (talk) 17:42, 29 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tsim23, I create this conversation in a new message so it is easy to sort and find the info.
I had a quick check (did a WP:BEFORE - see here and I could not find any independent, reliable sources talk about the subject in lenght and in details and not merely passing mentioned for verificatin to pass notablity guidlines especially under SNN WP:NCORP criteria. My take is that the article fails the notabilty guidlines and can nomated for WP:AfD. When AfD, do support and justify your nomination based on Wikipedia guidlines. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 06:29, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA Hello thank you for getting back to me I figured as much the page just seemed odd. What steps do we take from here? I'm not too sure myself.Tsims23 (talk) 16:17, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tsim23, You can nominate the page for WP:AfD.
(1) Use Twinkle on the top right menu of the page and click "XFD".
(2) On the "Choose what category this nomination belongs in" dropdown list, chose "corporation, organization or product"
(3) On "Choose deletion sorting categories" click (i) Tropical/Business -companies (ii) Tropical/Business-Business (iii) Canada
(4) On "Reason" " Subject is a company. A WP:BEFORE is done, subject fail WP:GNG and WP:NCORP for no WP:SIGCOV independent, reliable sources could be found."
Cassiopeia(talk) 16:32, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, You could read WP:GNG and its related pages. However, this page would summaries what are need to create a notable page - Wikipedia:The answer to life, the universe, and everything. (note: subject need to be notable, content need to be supported by 5-7 independent , reliable source (official web site, social media, interview, site related to the subject and etc. are all considered not independent or reliable) and the source talk directed about the subject and not passing mentioned. Write in you on words and no violation of copyright. - Example of mma gym article - Sanford MMA, Serra-Longo Fight Team and Jackson Wink MMA Academy. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia(talk) 09:17, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA hello thank you for getting back to me I read over the gng page. I do believe I could find the amount of references you stated from external sources talking about the gym as well as a official website, Facebook page and Instagram page. I will make sure to take the proper steps when I do create it to make sure that it is properly referenced and devoid of copyright. However when it comes to getting an image of the logo should I just ask the business's permission to use it on the Wikipedia page as I do not own an image but I could walk down the road and take a picture of the logo if asking them is not acceptable. Please let me know Thank you again stay safe and enjoy the fights this weekend!Tsims23 (talk) 19:39, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIA Hello again i have created a new topic section and moved our messages about the subject over. i would like your advice on what to do with logo picture as mentioned above however i now fin myself needing a bit of help with the pages starting template when i preview it in sandbox its not all boxed in i tried to code it myself so i may have messed something up would you mind taking a look for me its not done i still have alot to fix and refrences to addTsims23 (talk) 06:58, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Tsims23, Pls re-read my message above. To pass GNG we need intendent, reliable source and FB, official website, press release any sources related to the subject are considered NOT reliable or not reliable. For such we can use the info from no independent sources sparingly and they CAN NOT be used to to pass GNG. You missed a second closed bracket "]" after London, Ontario. See below. CASSIOPEIA hello thank you so much for helping me out I didn't even notice the missing stuff I appreciate it and I apologize if I wasn't suppose to you those I read over some stuff that led me to believe that official links were allowed I will reference them here it is also because one of them contains a video of him teaching for the Brazilian jiu jitsu teacher however I am not done with the references and have many independent sources to add from newspapers and MMA websites

Common issues: Wikipedia is not a directory of any subject's complete web presence, and links to social networking sites (other than official links) are discouraged (ELNO#10).

As an external link: ☒ Generally. Regular websites are strongly preferred, but exceptions are made for official links when the subject of the article has no other Web presence. I do apologize if I wasn't supposed to use those but it did say "other than official links" I could probably try to find another reference for the BJJ trainer but I thought it would be much easier to just show a video that they upload on their official website as a reference to him being the BJJ trainer otherwise as I said I have a lot of external sources to add. Thanks again :)Tsims23 (talk) 02:57, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I also left official page links. An article you recently created, Adrenaline MMA Training & Fitness, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) In addition, there is a question regarding WP:UPE or WP:COI, as well as the article reading simply as a promotional piece for the business. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, as well as the advertising nature of the piece, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Onel5969 hello and I hope I tagged you properly I have 28 references on there and have already tried a great degree to edit it to what people have asked me to like taking out the phrase "would go on to win the TKO championship" and making it "he won the TKO championship"I have stated in there has a reference as I said are 28 references the earlier parts about the life of the gym's precursor can all basically be found in the single reference as it is a massive article about the man's life. However when it comes to the guidelines I will admit I seem to struggle could I ask you to maybe edit apart for me to what you would be considering acceptable cuz I don't feel that I am advertising I have just stated facts I have given information on the Gym's history and what they have done in the sport, have to show that it is notable. And I understand the part where I was talking about the new training facility but that is in the reference. (Someone else asked me to edit it too but they did not even mention that part). Anyway I am fairly confused as different editors seem to have different standards. Any Assistance you can offer me would be appreciatedTsims23 (talk) 18:30, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIA hello and sorry about late reply I understand that some of those articles might be in the interview format. I have never seen a rule on Wikipedia that states that interviews are not references, because I'm going to have to move most of the crime and police based pages to draft because they all use news and interview style references unfortunately. Either way all six core articles I have at least three of them are not interview format still qualifying for three referenced articles they are still legitimate references regardless they have been produced by a third party site

3:Morris Dalla Costa (2014-05-31). "Adrenaline open to all fitness levels". lfpress.com. Retrieved 2021-06-06.(for these 2 reference there's definitely some quotes but that is not really the material I'm after I already have enough references to prove that Sean Tompkins was crucial to adrenaline I don't need that article to do that I just need it to show that it is a gym) and if that is the case I will admit I will go on a crusade to get rid of all other articles that are doing the same thing cuz I know for a fact there is a lot so I will definitely make sure that they suffer the same fate as me haha jk. Lol I am mostly saying that as a joke but come on now guys I just feel like you guys just don't want this article on here which makes sense I'm pretty sure someone else who made gym article is the one who reported me in the first place. Either way could I ask you to help me with the final steps because I've tried it about five times now and it's starting to get a bit frustrating I'm going to need someone else who has a better understanding of what is right and wrong to make sure the article is ready to go. Plz let me know if I am not able to receive help then I will reluctantly delete my work however I am getting weary of editing on Wikipedia because of these reasons so other than my main page and some of the ones I made I don't know how much new content I will be making as the standards for each editor are much different. With all respect to the individual also but for instance the other two that put my article in draft did not even acknowledge the stuff you were talking about you are seeing something completely different than they were. The guy who initially put it as a draft didn't have an issue with the references at all he said it was written like an article so I changed it and then other editors started having issues that previous ones didn't, so again it's just inconsistencies with how people see the rules on here which is unfortunate. Either way I hope that there's a way we can get this article published as it is reputable gym that has produced UFC title challengers and they deserve a chance to be recognized just like all those other gyms also I request that the list of MMA training facilities be reviewed as many of the gyms on there use the exact same type of references if this gym is not allowed to have a page then neither are they. Equal treatment is equal treatment :) Tsims23 (talk) 01:47, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIA Ps thanks again and I apologize about my frustration I am not frustrated with you just at the situation it is a very busy day and I don't have time to edit that stuff right now I'm also trying to find a way to make it work because I put a lot of energy into researching it all. if there is anything you can do to help me make it legitimate I would appreciate it Tsims23 (talk) 02:00, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I read a lot of the notability guidelines and I did not see anything anywhere about interview format not being legitimate as a matter of fact it clearly states that all forms are accepted

"Reliable" means that sources need editorial integrity to allow verifiable evaluation of notability, per the reliable source guideline. Sources may encompass published works IN ALL FORMS and media, and in any language. Availability of secondary sources covering the subject is a good test for notability. I have a million secondary sources to back it up to

A topic is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list when it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject,

"Significant coverage" addresses the topic directly and in detail, so that no original research is needed to extract the content. Significant coverage is more than a trivial mention, but it does not need to be the main topic of the source material. The book-length history of IBM by Robert Sobel is plainly non-trivial coverage of IBM. Martin Walker's statement, in a newspaper article about Bill Clinton,[1] that "In high school, he was part of a jazz band called Three Blind Mice" is plainly a trivial mention of that band. "Reliable" means that sources need editorial integrity to allow verifiable evaluation of notability, per the reliable source guideline. Sources may encompass published works in all forms and media, and in any language. Availability of secondary sources covering the subject is a good test for notability. "Sources"[2] should be secondary sources, as those provide the most objective evidence of notability. There is no fixed number of sources required since sources vary in quality and depth of coverage, but multiple sources are generally expected.[3] Sources do not have to be available online or written in English. Multiple publications from the same author or organization are usually regarded as a single source for the purposes of establishing notability. "Independent of the subject" excludes works produced by the article's subject or someone affiliated with it. For example, advertising, press releases, autobiographies, and the subject's website are not considered independent.[4] "Presumed" means that significant coverage in reliable sources creates an assumption, not a guarantee, that a subject merits its own article. A more in-depth discussion might conclude that the topic actually should not have a stand-alone article—perhaps because it violates what Wikipedia is not, particularly the rule that Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information.[5] If a topic does not meet these criteria but still has some verifiable facts, it might be useful to discuss it within another article. Anyways I went over a lot of the page and did not find anything about interview format being not allowed as a matter of fact I didn't even see the word and review in the reliable section either way, I just want to find a way to make the article work out so that all my work isn't for nothing as I said above these guys are the most reputable gym in my country besides TriStar and are well-known in the MMA community they deserve to have a page just like everyone else there is a lot of of gym pages on here that are less notableTsims23 (talk) 07:11, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

CASSIOPEIARequesting responds :)Tsims23 (talk) 07:11, 29 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Tsims, please stop badgering User:Cassiopeia. If they didn't respond, it's probably for a reason. I tried to figure out what you are asking, but it's hard--and if you can't provide paragraphs, and if you can't make clear what material is cited from somewhere and what is your own contribution, then no reader is going to want to go over this. Is this about interviews? Interviews might give an indication of notability but they are no proof of notability. Where is this written down? It's common sense. I've looked at the sources of that draft--I don't see anything in there that counts as a proper secondary source. The only possibly acceptable source is that Bleacher Report article, but it's pretty obvious that the only statement you can verify from that is "Adrenaline Training Center is in London, Ontario, and Alex Gasson is the manager"--it's rare to see a sportsball article that is so uninformative. You need sources, that's it, not comparisons with other articles. Drmies (talk) 14:06, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Drmies and Tsims23:
Hi Drmies, I have responded to Tsims23 on my talk page as he has place the same questions on his and my talk page - see here (Message title: "Discussion on my talk page").
Hi Tsims23, Drmies, 3 reviewers (one moved the page from mainspace to draft space) and I have shared the same reasons which concluded the article has yet to meet the notability guidelines and I have explained to you a few times of why interviews are considered non independent sources as the info of the interview articles are from the subject. As mentioned to meet the notability guidelines requires significant coverage of independent, realizable sources where by the sources talk about the subject in length and in depth and not merely passing mentioned. When you could find about 5 of such sources (sources can be any languages), then pls ping me and I will review the article and if the article meet the said requirement, I will place the article in main space. Stay safe Tsims23 and take care. Cassiopeia talk 23:26, 12 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
CASSIOPEIAHello I am sorry I typed a reply about 3 days ago but for some reason it did not upload. I went on to say that that is unfortunate in terms of the article I could leave it in there for 6 months but I will reluctantly have to consent to its deletion due to the fact that I have exhausted all of my resources and I doubt that any notable references will come out during that time. I put a chunk of time into it but it is what it is the unfortunate part is that even if someone won a championship from there they still wouldn't write an article about the gym, it would be about the champion so I don't know how many of these other gym pages have the legit references. thank you for all your help and stay safe.Tsims23 (talk) 05:09, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

List of outlaw motorcycle club conflicts - collaboration

[edit]

Hi there!

Many thanks for the kind message that you had sent on the 22nd, I'm always glad to help expand Wikipedia and I have really enjoyed reading all the contributions you have made. I had actually meant to message you to see if you would like to collaborate on some of the topics you have been writing about (specifically, outlaw motorcycle clubs).

I have a college degree in the study of criminal justice and currently am working a position (newly hired) for the United States federal government under the Department of Homeland Security. My current hours are quite unconventional, but I will try my best to make the time to still contribute to our shared topic(s) of interest on Wikipedia.

It has been really nice hearing from you. Feel free to send me a message anytime and I'll make my best effort to get back with you as soon as possible. Likewise, you can send me an email at 131604a@gmail.com and from there I can provide you with my phone number if you would like.

Also, I wanted to direct you to a page on Instagram which I found not too long ago which has provided me with a tremendous amount of information on the outlaw motorcycle scene in Quebec. It is run by an individual by the name of Dan who posts about Quebec Moto History between the 1950s up until the 1980s. He's extremely well-acquainted with the regional subculture of the province and my favorite thing about his posts is that he includes these really rare and obscure images/photographs. The account can be found here: https://www.instagram.com/rebuiltone/ (@rebuiltone)

Happy holidays, my friend! I look forward to hearing from you and keeping in-touch!

Wonderland ave Hello sir thank you for getting back to me. And I must say thank you very much for your professionalism and respect sir, I am 100% understanding of your busy schedule there is no rush just helping wherever you can does alot to help.

I will email you if you ever need anything but I do not have international texting so I will probably be communicating on here most of the time, my hope is that one day we will get a group of editors. One to focus on each continent or something like that, that way the research can be divided. Thank you very much for sharing that information I find it quite hard to get some old info about the Canadian biker scene I will definitely check him out.

Happy holidays to you as well comrade and much respect for your kind words.CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 06:32, 26 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Ontario Biker War

[edit]

Hello, CanadianHistorian(MMA & History),

Thank you for creating Ontario Biker War.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Hi. If you click on this link, you'll see how a portion of this still borrows too much phrasing from the magazine article. I know paraphrasing is difficult sometimes, but imho there are sections which are still too closely worded. Other than that, very nice article.

Sources for Organized crime in London, Ontario

[edit]

I see you've been adding a lot of information on the Organized crime in London, Ontario article. I hope you're keeping notes on where you got the information from. It would help if you added the source reference as you add the material. Even if it's just (I know some will balk at this) putting "<ref>London Scene magazine, "Too Much Fighting on the Dance Floor", Robert Noccious, April 1, 2019</ref>" or "<ref>LFP, June 8, 2014</ref>". It's at least something that later editors can dress up in formal wear. Otherwise, anything without a source can be challenged and ultimately deleted, without much recourse to retaining it. signed, Willondon (talk) 22:56, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Willondon Well of course I'm adding a lot on it I'm the one who created the page. Extremely underreported on subject here in London. And yes I have been keeping notes I actually have references I just need to figure out how to add a local newspaper as a reference, I'm sure you can tell based on the specifics of a lot of the information on there there is no possible way I could just be making this stuff up I definitely need to improve some of the references that's why the page is covered in note:work in progress, I do appreciate your help though. CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 02:05, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's why I suggested using "<ref> .... </ref>" as you go, no matter what ... you put in there. Some would balk and say it's lazy, and the editor should do the work of proper referencing; but I say as long as there's something in there, it's a start. I appreciate the work you're doing, as I have memories of London (I met "Robert Noccious" back in the day), but if you don't put anything in as a reference, it's so easy to wipe out huge chunks of the article, if not the whole article as unsourced. And let's be honest, will you get around to adding the references later? When will that be? How long will others wait? I strongly recommend, as you go, just putting something in "<ref> ... </ref>" tags to document where you got it from. That way, other editors can build on it later, and it won't easily get wiped away as unsourced. Sincerely, signed, Willondon (talk) 02:34, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Re "I just need to figure out how to add a local newspaper as a reference", that's why I mentioned at least putting in something like "<ref>LFP, June 8, 2014</ref>" as you go. On Wikipedia, it's real easy to kick things out if they're completely unsourced. It's a bit harder if it's just that the reference isn't fancy enough. signed, Willondon (talk) 06:02, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Willondon well I shall try that then and I will add the references in the method which you have suggested above. I will probably be doing it tonight to be honest. Thanks again and please feel free to add anything to the page I could actually use some help haha 🤣.

Infobox images

[edit]

Hi, CanadianHistorian(MMA & History), I noticed that you have added thumbnail images to several infoboxes, and just wanted to give you a heads up that thumbnail images don't belong there. I've gone through them and I think I fixed them all, so there should be nothing left for you to fix, but I wanted to let you know in case you seen my edits and wondered why I was removing them. If you want, you can see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE, where a short paragraph explains this. Regardless, it's not a big deal, and only took a few minutes to fix. Cmr08 (talk) 08:31, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Patch of the Original Red Devils MC.png

[edit]

Hi CanadianHistorian(MMA & History). Although you've uploaded File:Patch of the Original Red Devils MC.png as non-free use, it is technically a WP:Derivative work which means that there are two copyrights that need to be taken into account: one for the logo appearing on the back of the jacket and one for the actual photo itself. The source you provided for this file doesn't show the photo you uploaded. Did you take this photo yourself? The provenance for this photo needs to be clarified for this file to possibly avoid being deleted per Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. If you didn't take this photo yourself, then it would be quite helpful if you can clarify where it came from in the description on the file's page. Relevant policy requires that there be some way of verifying that the photo has been previously published for it to meet WP:NFC#Meeting the previous publication criterion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:54, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

Marchjuly hello and I am sorry I'm still trying to get the hang of dealing with uploading photos. It used to be posted on this website https://www.onepercenterbikers.com/original-red-devils-mc-motorcycle-club/amp/ which I did put is the source because that's where I personally got it but it seems the original picture can be found on flickr. Com https://www.flickr.com/photos/metro_images/3627412804 the reason I believe that to be the original is that the one I downloaded was obviously altered. Again I do apologize for my lack of experience I am still learning anything you can do to help me would be much appreciated.CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 09:03, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
As you can see from the Flickr page you linked to above, that photo is copyrighted as "All rights reserved" which makes things a bit more complicated. Technically, the person who uploaded the photo to Flickr only owns the copyright on the photo itself (assuming they're the photographer who took it) and not the logo on the back of the jacket (the copyright of which would be owned by the club). For corporate or organization logos like this, it's best to find something as close to an official website as possible and get the logo from there because that way there's no question that copyright holder of the logo is doing the publication. I see you've gone ahead and replaced the photo in the infobox with a logo file, and that might be OK though an official website of the club (if such exists) would be better to use as the source. Unfortunately, this means the photo of the logo is now redundant and should be deleted. Probably the best way to have that done is for you to request that it be deleted per speedy deletion criterion G7. All you need to do go to File:Patch of the Original Red Devils MC.png, click edit and then add the syntax for template {{db-g7}} to the top of page. Click on "Show preview" to make sure the template is displaying properly and then click "Publish changes" if it is. When you do this, just leave an edit summary explaining why you want the photo to be deleted. The other option would be to simply remove the file from the article and it will end up being deleted after five days per speedy deletion criterion F5. When you remove the file, just leave an edit summary explaining why. -- Marchjuly (talk) 09:30, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Marchjuly thank you for taking a look at it and yes I know I'm starting to figure out it's pretty. I personally don't think it should be deleted as the reason it is uploaded is to show the "cut" (Jacket) itself, number one because it is as significant part of Canadian history as it is the first motorcycle club to ever be established in the country and also because there is a second motorcycle club that is also quite popular called the Red Devils Motorcycle Club that is often mistaken for the original Red Devils thus I believe displaying the patch is quite important to differentiate between the two clubs.CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 09:44, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don’t think the photo’s current non-free use can be justified per WP:NFCC#3a and WP:NFCC#8 since basically any article content about it would also be applicable to the logo itself (which can be seen in the infobox) and not this particular photo itself. The file can be discussed at WP:FFD, however, if you disagree with this assessment and you can try to establish a WP:CONSENSUS if favor of its use. Just for reference, though, non-free content use is quite restrictive and the relevant policy requires us to limit its use as much as possible, and I think that’s likely going to be the case here. If, however, you’re able to find sourced critical commentary in reliable sources about this logo or which would justify its use in addition to the logo file being in used in the main infobox and add that to the article with supporting citations, then it might be easier to establish a consensus in favor of this particular use. — Marchjuly (talk) 10:41, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Bacchus & Devils Patch.png

[edit]

Pretty much what I posted above can also be said about the non-free use of File:Bacchus & Devils Patch.png. If you can find any type sourced critical commentary in reliable sources about the patch that can be added to the article, then the argument in favor of non-free use might be strengthened. Stating something like "Verbal description of the object can only do so much for the reader" in the file's non-free use rationale is almost always not going to be considered sufficient to justify non-free use per WP:NFC#CS, WP:DECORATIVE and WP:THOUSANDWORDS. Again if you disagree with this assessment, the file can be discussed at WP:FFD where you can seek a consensus in favor of its use. You can also seek more informal feedback at WT:NFC if you like. -- Marchjuly (talk) 22:04, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Marchjuly Sorry for the late reply, today has been busy I am going to see what I can do about fixing things tomorrow, I agree with you about the first image I definitely will see if I can get it removed if it hasn't been already, but I think this image is quite important and I will see what I can do about strengthening it CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 04:01, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Emblem of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club.png

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Emblem of the Iron Order Motorcycle Club.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:30, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi CanadianHistorian(MMA & History). You seem to be misunderstanding what the above template means. Removing the speedy deletion template from the file's page won't stop it from being deleted per WP:F5 if it remains orphaned non-free use. All non-free content is required to be used in at least one article per WP:NFCC#7 and that which is not is eventually going to be speedily deleted. Telling a WP:BOT to read a file's page is not going to resolve anything and it would be better for you seek assistance at WP:MCQ in cases where a bot's edit to a file's page is unclear. The file has a non-free use rationale for Iron Order Motorcycle Club, but the file doesn't appear to have ever been added to that article by you or anyone else. There was another file being used in the infobox of that article, but that was a different file uploaded to Commons that was subsequently deleted as a copyright violation. Maybe you though that you could just add a non-free rationale for the one uploaded to Commons? If so that's OK, but it's not really how things work. Anyway, if the file you uploaded is intended for use in the main infobox of the "Iron Order article", then add it and then file will no longer be orphaned. You can then remove the template per its instructions; just leave an edit summary explaining why. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:04, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone ahead and added the file to the main infobox of the article since I'm assuming this is where you intended it to be used based on the non-free use rationale you provided. For future reference, it generally a really good idea to add a non-free file you upload to the article you intend to use it in asap because the bots looking for orphaned non-free files tend to move quickly and will tag the file for speedy deletion if the file remains orphaned. Moreover, it's pretty much never a good idea to upload a non-free file unless you clearly intend to use it in at least one article. Others might not think the use satisfies relevant policy in some way, but that's completely different from being orphaned non-free use. If you get any more notifications from bots about files you uploaded being orphaned non-free use, it's best to check the article where the file was being used or was intended to be used, just to make sure it wasn't removed by another user. Sometimes such removals are done by mistake, but other times a specific reason was given for it. Either way, that information would be in the page history of the article where the file was being used; so, that's where you need to look. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:22, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Marchjuly Hello I am sorry I did take a look at it but I got so frustrated it wasn't working as messing up the template, I couldn't move anything the instructions on Wikipedia are extremely vague unless there is a video on YouTube for me to look up to display to me how to do more complex things it's quite hard. I don't know how to change any of that all I can do is leave a comment saying I don't know what I'm doing I'm sorry. Literally have no clue how I'm supposed to take the steps to go about fixing it, first of all I don't know what an orphaned article is and I don't know how to unorphin it, and I uploaded all the other pictures in the exact same method why would they fit the criteria yet this one doesn't it was literally the exact same method anyways I'm going to let you fix this one because I can't do it it's out of my league, I would probably end up causing more damage to the article than good.CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 17:11, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The above notification was for an orphaned non-free file not an orphaned article. In a non-free file context, "orphaned" means the file isn't being used in any articles; in an article context, it means that the article doesn't have any incoming links from other Wikipedia articles (i.e. there are no Wikilinks to it found in other articles). Since the file you uploaded wasn't being used in any articles, it didn't satisfy non-free content use criterion #7 and was, therefore, tagged for speedy deletion by a bot per speedy deletion criterion F5. In order resolve an F5 issue, all you need to do is add the file in question to at least one article (it has to be an article per non-free content use criterion #9). Orphaned articles aren't ideal as explained here, but they very rarely are considered a reason for deletion. Orphaned non-free files, on the other hand, are always going to be deleted unless a use can be found for them. That use might not be acceptable for some other reason, but a non-free file being used in any article should never end up deleted per F5. A bot can't tell why a non-free file isn't being used; it only can tell that it's not being used. So, when you see a notification like the one the bot added above about orphaned non-free use, you will need to figure out in which article the file was being used, why it was removed and how removed it. There are human file reviewers who go around checking on orphaned non-free files to try and figure out they've been tagged for deletion by bots, and administrators will also generally check things before actually deleting a file, but files are mistakenly deletion sometimes. When that happens, you can usually get the file restored by requesting assistance at WP:REFUND. Sometimes people just randomly remove files just to cause mischief, but other times there's a reason given for doing so. In the former case, simply re-adding the file is usually all that needs to be done; in the latter case, you might have to discuss things with the other user to figure out why the file was removed and what if anything can be done to restore it to the article.
To be honest, I'm not totally sure what happened at Iron Order Motorcycle Club. It appears you uploaded the file for use in that article, but never got around to adding it to the article. There was actually already another file of the logo uploaded by a different editor being used in the main infobox before you uploaded your file, and maybe you saw that after the fact and just decided to leave things as is. That's fine and no big deal, but it did mean that the file you uploaded was orphaned. Anyway, the other file that was being used was deleted from Commons as a copyright violation; so, I just added yours to the article as a replacement. Long story short, the file you uploaded is no longer orphaned and won't be deleted for F5 reasons now. Moreover, you didn't do anything wrong here (except maybe forgetting to add the file to an article). For future reference, if you receive another one of these notifications, then it most likely means that a non-free file you uploaded and added to an article has been removed or replaced by another editor. If that happens, just check the page history of the article where the file was being used (usually this article is indicated somewhere on the file's page) to try and figure out why. If you're not sure, you can always ask for help at WP:MCQ. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:53, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Marchjuly I am not sure either when I went to upload it the picture was already there so I didn't bother I assume that it must have just been uploaded automatically when I loaded it to the site is it fixed now or is there something I need to do to make sure it's all good and also did you see my message in the conversation at the bottom? Thanks again for your helpCanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 02:52, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The file you uploaded is no longer orphaned free use, so there's nothing more you need to do with respect to that. It's possible that someone may remove it or replace it for some reason and thus re-orphan the file at some point in the future. You should receive another bot notification if that happens and then you've have to figure out what to do. Orphaned non-free files aren't deleted until five days have passed which gives you some time to understand why the file was orphaned and what (if anything) can be done about it. Files end up orphaned all of the time; sometimes for a good reason and other times for a not so good reason (i.e. WP:DE). You just have to wait until it happens to try and sort things out.
I saw your message at the bottom and already have responded to it. -- Marchjuly (talk) 03:07, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Johnny Plescio, is not suitable as written to remain published. Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Johnny Plescio. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Liz Read! Hello, CanadianHistorian(MMA & History),
If you disagree with a page move to Draft space, PLEASE move the article back to main space rather than cut-and-pasting a new version of the article back in main space. Now, there are two versions of the article with 2 different page histories. It is perfectly fine to contest a page move to Draft space and revert it if you disagree but please, no more cut-and-paste edits. Thank you! Liz Read! Talk! 01:25, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
LizI really do apologize, as you saw I didn't agree with the decision made by the other editor, I would have just moved it out of the draft space but I don't know how to do that to be honest. I apologize tho truly as you saw though it was justified other people reviewed the article and it was accepted it was just that one editor being sillyCanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 03:38, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from one or more pages into Rock Machine MC criminal allegations and incidents. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. (t · c) buidhe 06:23, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Buidhe Hello how exactly do I provide proper attributation I wrote a lot of the other stuff and it is my own words and work but how do I properly do it is there a template I can use for the whole article as I moved it to reduce the size of an article that was getting to large. And would I have to put {{copied}} to every one of them ?CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 06:31, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Canadian historian, thanks for your contributions to the wiki. The minimum requirement is an edit summary like this one when you paste content from another article. The recommended wording is copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. Adding a copied template is good practice but not necessary in every case. (t · c) buidhe 06:48, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Buidhe thank you very much for the advice I did an edit summary as you suggested I hope I did it right! Thanks againCanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 07:53, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Notice

The file File:Rock Machine Motorcycle Club colours.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-free use in Rock Machine MC criminal allegations and incidents fails WP:NFCC#1, WP:NFCC#3a and WP:NFCC#8. Since the non-free logo File:Rock machine mc.jpg is already being used for primary identification purposes in the main infobox of Rock Machine Motorcycle Club, there's really no need or way to justify uploading a photograph of the essentially the same logo to use in essentially the same way in another related article. Moreover, this article is pretty much a "child" of the parent article about the club itself, which makes the non-free use of any non-free logo for the club in this article not really justifiable per items 6 and 17 of WP:NFC#UUI. A link to the main article about the club can be found in the lead of "allegations and incidents" article and a WP:HATNOTE (e.g. {{Main}} of {{Further}}) could be added to top of article to further direct the reader to the main article about the club where the logo can be seen per WP:FREER. Lastly, there's no sourced critical commentary about the club's patch/colors anywhere in "Allegation and incidents" article which makes the file's non-free use more WP:DECORATIVE than not per WP:NFC#CS, and any such content would be more suitable for the main article about the club if found and added.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:06, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free content is required to be use in at least one article per WP:NFCC#7, but non-free content may be used in multiple articles if each use can be shown to satisfy all ten of the WP:NFCCP. So, there's really no justification to upload this photo and use because it's essentially the same as File:Rock machine mc.jpg and you're trying to use it in basically the same way. The non-free use of same logo used in Rock Machine Motorcycle Club can either also be justified in Rock Machine MC criminal allegations and incidents or it can't. For non-free logos such as this, it's generally OK to use them for primary identification purposes in the main article (i.e. parent article) about what the logo is supposed to represent, but the one use is already considered an exception to WP:COPY#Guidelines for images and other media files. Additional uses of the same file, either in the same article or in other related articles (i.e. child articles), are typically considered to be "more" exceptional cases and thus require a more stronger justification than the first primary use of the file. In this case, I don't think extra use is justifiable per relevant policy as I explained in my reason for proposing that file be deleted. You may, of course, not agree with my assessment and you can deprod the file if you want if you believe the file's non-free use is justified. In that case, the file can be further discussed at WP:FFD and you can seek to establish a consensus in favor of its non-free use in "allegations and incidents" article. -- Marchjuly (talk) 08:20, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Marchjuly Hello and I do apologize I get where you're coming from and I am still trying to figure out the whole photo thing. I simply did it following the model of Hell's Angels allegations page where they had a picture back of one of their members jackets to help people identify it while on a person. I assumed this file was uploaded in the same matter but upon looking at it it seems that it was uploaded using Wikimedia commons and shared attribution 4.0 or something. Either way I will have to upload it in that manner, even if I have to go find a member of The Rock Machine and take a picture of them myself, thanks again for your help and also is there any possible way I can upload the Red Devils and Backus patch using Wikimedia Commons? Because I know it does pass the non free use as u said.CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 17:06, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Commons doesn't accept non-free content (i.e. fair use content) of any type as explained here; so, the only way for you to be able to upload such a file to Commons would be to demonstrate that it's 100% free. Try to think of it like as follows: if you walk outside your front door and take a photo of the sky, then you own the copyright of the photo and can upload it to Commons if you want; however, if you find a photo of the sky taken by someone else online or somewhere else, then can't upload the photo to Commons without the photographer's c:COM:CONSENT. In this case, the sky itself is not eligible for copyright protection in its own right; so, all you need to worry about is the copyright of the photo itself. Things get much more complicated, however, when the photo is of a copyrighted work because the photo is then considered a derivative work in which there are two copyrights that need to be considered. For example, you design a patch for a motorcycle club and then photograph it on some jacket. As the creator of the patch, you are likely going to be considered to own the copyright on the patch; moreover, as the photographer who takes the photo of the patch, you're going to be considered the own the copyright on he photo. So, as the copyright holder of both, you can upload the file to Commons if you want since you can give your consent for both the patch and the photo. On the other hand, if you don't own the copyright on both, then you can't upload the file without the consent of the other person. Things tend to be more complicated than that, but that's essentially the basic idea. Now, if you don't know actually know who designed the patch, then you might think that it just can't be under copyright protection; however, the copyright laws of many countries often make allowances for works for which the creator is unknown and such works are generally considered protected for some period of time which makes them unacceptable for Commons.
FWIW, files are constanly being deleted from Commons and Wikipedia for problems related to their licensing, but there are still more files being uploaded daily than their are people trying to sort them out and make sure they're OK. Most of the time, the person uploading the file is doing so with the best of intentions, but is just not very familiar with things like WP:COPY#Guidelines for images and other media files and c:COM:L. These people see something being used on other websites and automatically assume that such work must also be OK for Wikipedia or Commons. Sometimes they mistake something that can be freely downloaded from some website as being free from copyright protection, but unfortunately things are generally never that simple.
Neither Wikipedia nor Commons can control what other websites do. Websites hosting photos or other images may be operating under different licensing requirements, they might be using the content under fair use, or they just might not care about copyright matters. Wikipedia and Commons does, however, worry about such things, but all Wikipedia and Commons users are WP:VOLUNTEERs. So, a file with licensing issues may fly under the radar for quite sometime until someone, for whatever reason, notices it. Try to keep things like WP:NOBODYCOMPLAINED and WP:OTHERIMAGE in mind if you find any files you uploaded being tagged or flagged for some issue in the future. The same can also be said about any articles you edit or create per WP:LONGTIME, WP:CONTENTAGE, WP:OTHERCONTENT and WP:OSE. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:38, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Marchjuly thank you for replying back to me and based on your reply I can see that it will probably be much harder to upload it then normal photos due to the images copyright. I do wonder what qaulifies alot of the Hells Angels imagines on Wikimedia commons,
These for example
did the club give them permission?? Would I have to seek consent like that? Or is there some other loophole that is used, and yes I understand what you're talking about thank you very much for giving a detailed amount of information in your reply I am pretty clearly understanding of the rules now.CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 03:53, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Just like when you edit textual content on Wikipedia, there's pretty much no pre-vetting of the uploading of images. It's going to be assumed that persons uploading images know what they're doing to some degree and understand relevant policies related to image licensing. There's some guidance provided when uploading a file and some basic questions are asked by the upload Wizard, but there's no way to check answers until pretty much after the file has been uploaded. Most people uploading files probably mean well, but just aren't very familiar with image copyright matters; so, good-faith mistakes are often made and these are corrected (if possible) when they're found. In some cases, there may be no alternative to deletion, but many Commons file reviewers will try to save a file if possible. There are people, however, who know enough about copyright to understand they are uploading a file they shouldn't or have repeated the same mistake over and over again despite being advised not to; these are the people who typically end up having serious problems that might even lead to being blocked from Commons or Wikipedia for image related stuff.
Copyright stuff is quite complex and copyright laws can vary quite a bit from country to country. Even copyright lawyers or otherwise experts may not always agree on things, and courts in one country may view things differently thas courts in another country do. Because Commons hosts images that can be used easily in all Wikimedia Foundation Projects, it is a global project (English Wikipedia images are local in that they can only be used on English Wikipedia) whose policies try to take all of these things into account and ensure that the images it hosts are as free as they possibly can be for everyone to use. For this reason, files will be deleted (sometimes even without discussion or warning) whenever there's a reasonable doubt about their licensing as a precaution. Administrators and file licensing reviewers are, however, just are as much of a volunteer as any other user. Although many of them are quite knowlegable about things copyright, mistakes are even sometimes made by them as well. For this reason, both Wikipedia and Commons have processes in place where the deletion of a file can be reviewed.
As for the files you're finding already uploaded to Commons, my guess is that many of them were probably uploaded in good faith and not as an attempt to pull a fast one hoping that nobody would notice. Maybe someone told them it would be OK to do so or maybe they just assumed it would be OK to do so. In some cases, the consent of the club or the person who took the photo might've have been obtained and verified, or it was subsequently verified that the file had been previously released under a free-license that Commons accepts. In yet other cases, the copyrighted content shown in the photo may be so minimal or incidental that it could be argued to be de minimis; so, all that matters is the copyright of the photo. If you've got a questions about a specific Commons file or what to know whether it's OK to upload a certain file to Commons, you can always ask for help at c:COM:VPC. Most of the people who help at VPC are pretty familiar with all things Commons and should be able to help you sort things out. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:36, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Out of the three files you linked to above, the first one is licensed as public domain claiming that it was taken by an employee of the US federal government as part of their official duties as explained in WP:PD#US government works. Whether this is 100% the case might be debatable because not all content found on US federal government websites was created by a government employee; US government websites do sometimes host content provided by third-parties. Then there's also the question of the logo patch itself since the US government most certainly didn't create that. So, it could be argued that this particular photo is a derivative work and therefore might not be OK for Commons.
The second photo is actually a crop of a much larger photo File:Waghäusel_81.jpg. The logo imagery in the larger photo could almost certainly be argued as being a case of de minimis. Things aren't so clear with respect to the crop though and it might depend on how you look at the photo. If you see it primarily as a photo of the clubhouse's entrance which just happens to show the logo, then you could argue de minimis or incidental since you it would be hard to really photograph the door without some of the surrounding wall. On the other hand, if you see the primary element of the photo as showing the wall logo/patch and just incidentally showing the door, then that could be a problem. The photo was also taken in Germany and German copyright law may allow publicly displayed artwork or architectural works to be freely photographed.
The third file is also a cropped photo that is almost certainly a case of de minimis in that the focus of the photo is the individual and not any one particular copyrightable element. There might be personality rights involved here, but that's not really a concern of Commons. As long as the copyright of the photo can be verified (it can per this), the file is OK for Commons. -- Marchjuly (talk) 06:53, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain namespaces ((Article) and Draft) for copyright violations.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Moneytrees🏝️Talk 11:45, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

All text you add to wikipedia must be written in your own words. You've been previously warned 1 2 3 4 times for copying text from sources and unattributed in-wiki copies. Today I noticed an edit you made to Quebec Biker War which added a paragraph with very similar in wording to http://www.oocities.org/wiseguywally/MarcelDemers.html; I've quoted what you added with the similarities bolded below:

On November 14, 1996, a masked man, fired at least five bullets at Demers as he was exiting his car outside a corner store in a Quebec City suburb. The attacker escaped in a car, he was hit several times in his back and left arm as they drove by his car, this all occurred on a street in the Quebec City suburb of Beauport, close to the Rock Machine's Beauport chapter clubhouse. Despite his injuries, he managed to drive himself to Enfant Jesus Hospital and walked himself into the emergency room. Hells Angels "Hang-arounds" Jean Fradette and Yan Laplante were arrested for the shooting.

Although that oocities page isn't cited as a source, I have to come to the conclusion you copied from it since you cite other oocities pages in the article and the phrasing in your edit just seems too coincidental. I also notice other cases of you copying from or closely phrasing from your sources in other recent edits; compare Renaud Jomphe to this source, this edit to the cited source, Paul Porter (biker) to these cited sources, and this edit to this source. Given the amount of copying that is happening and the previous warnings you have received, I have little choice other than blocking you. If you want to be unblocked, you must commit to no longer copying content from sources and to phrase your writings better. I of course am not you and therefore cannot truly understand your writing process, but it seems like some of these copyright issues may be a result of a rush to make edits; slowing down and reading over the source a few times before deciding on your phrasing may help you. Moneytrees🏝️Talk 12:31, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It may be similarly worded but it's not exactly the same there is several things that get in the way of that including entry of information and yes you're right I should have been attributing my copy edits as you're supposed to most of it is my wording anyways and I'm sorry I legitimately did not know that that was not a legit source it looks like it is it contains decent information and I was given no warnings about the site itself on Wikipedia or by users when did it become illegal? CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 17:15, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

My issue isn't that you are using it as a source, it's that you are copying from it, which is a copyright violation. Although I wouldn't recommend using it, as it is a user generated source, which should not be used. Moneytrees🏝️Talk 23:11, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Moneytrees yes I did use it, but initially just as a template for the article because that page contains good biographies for the individuals that I was focusing on but it's and copyright usually isn't an issue for me I make substantial edits in rewording so that it is not copied at all however as I said I was trying to rush things I was up till like 3:30 am and just wanted to finish it, which I apologize for I had so much on go I was just trying to and I definitely should have edited much more and put quotations on things that needed to be there, I also meant to put quotations around certain phrases or sets of information released by police or other parties however I as I said I didn't have time to do this,

yes you're right I should have been attributing my copy edits(some of the things that were copied were my own work so you technically don't need to attribute those edits(talking about Wikipedia only) but I should have been anyways but I was just doing so much that I wanted to get it done as I had many pages to make, the Marcel Demers page I really should have put more effort into like the other ones but I was not feeling the best yesterday so I just tried to rush it) and I'm sorry I legitimately did not know that that was not a legit source it looks like it is it contains decent information and I was given no warnings about the site itself on Wikipedia or by users when did it become illegal to use? Either way I did not receive an electronic notice of the websites exclusion which could have been an issue on my end. In regards to the copying usually I do right the article in my own words and have written many articles properly I am still new to editing on Wikipedia I'm not going to act like an idiot but I'm also not a genius either.CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 23:43, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen this message. If you want to be unblocked, please use the template in the block notice. While what you say here helps me understand the circumstances in which you were copying from sources, it doesn't really say what you will do differently if you are unblocked. If you want to be unblocked, you will have to be clearer about what you will do differently. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 23:51, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's all good I was just explaining the reasoning and apologizing, I'm not looking to be unblocked, it is the punishment I have received and I will accept it, plus I don't I would never be unblocked anyway, it seems very complicated the template and like a lot more trouble than it's worth.

Moneytrees however I do wish to report that an editor that I've constantly been battling for a while is very destructive to the content relating to motorcycle clubs if you view Shaolin punks edits on Quebec Biker War he has removed tons of reference information including locations and referenced events he's even change the outcome of the conflict and replace the reference I would consider official and replaced it with one of his own choosing the war was a stalemate due to police crackdown and openly says and multiple points that The Rock Machine never gave up they wanted to get stronger and passed over the Bandidos there was no surrender and it openly says in the section called operation amigo. (Personal attack removed) Eitherway I can't stop him now or add back they key content he's deleting and altering, I'm sure some of his edits are in good faith buts it's mostly just destructive, he takes perfectly good pages that are already worked on by many individuals such as a.s brown who spent weeks updating the page he was reading the books and making sure refs checked out... And he's changing it all I might have to request to be unbanned if nothing can be done from ur end.CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 06:31, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Using the template is harder than it looks. Just paste {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} down and replace "your reason hear" with an appeal and save the page. You clearly care about Wikipedia and I think you write about some pretty interesting things subject wise, so unless you really don't want to edit anymore I think you can successfully appeal this block. Calling someone else's edits "retarded" really won't help your case though, I'm removed that as a personal attack, please don't say that again. I'm not really sure of the topic area so I don't think I can really help you there, although I'll note you can still edit talk pages and the like, you just can't edit articles. Moneytrees🏝️(Talk) 20:42, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
MoneytreesOh I thought it was the whole page I looked at that other link and I was like oh my god that's way too much but if it's just that that's not too bad and I know I haven't been politically correct the guy has pissed me off so much, literally lives to destroy people's content that they waste hours I've wasted hours of my life doing this **** he's ripping the Quebec biker war page apart right now like I tried to put it back to a stalemate and listed six references about police crackdowns leading to the end of the conflict he changed it to the Hell's Angels victory without even reading any of them and just said I was the one being a fanboy I'm trying to preserve something that has been there for 20 years I can't even do it this guy's just personal attack. And yes I know I'm going completely off but I don't even know if I want to get my stuff back cuz it's just going to be a constant battle and no one's helping meCanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 22:30, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Anyway I should probably just chill out and see this as a win for the enemy. I do care about Wikipedia but I'm not going to do myself any favors if this guy is just going to be insane plus I don't even know how to block someone that's not the type of person I am I would never want to do that to someone but the guy is out of control he just removes referenced information constantly CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 22:32, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Like he tried to say in a comment that he and as brown had said that it was a Hell's Angels victory when I brought up to as Brown that it was a mistake and that just because one person wrote it in a book who had no clue what was going on doesn't mean that that was the reality of the conflict. I placed significant references at the beginning of the page as well as in the operation Amigo section talking about the end of the conflict and that part is still there however he's put it as a Hells Angels victory so it's kind of contradictory. Either way as brown is a good editor and so am I if you can prove to me that something is not factual and that there's other references I'll give in to that that's why as brown did not change it from a stalemate however he is trying to use that as a way to try and say that another editor is backing him when they're really not so how do I report this guy though I have definitely said stuff to him since, before I read your message above and I have no problem with being banned for life as long as this guy also is it's so bad.. I know it sounds weird you know what's way worse than copywriting material removing information that is referenced seriously way more destructive in my opinionCanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 22:34, 23 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You are treating Wikipedia as a battleground, with talk of "the enemy" and "I know I'm going completely off". If editing in a particular topic area is so contentious for you that you are making copyright violations you may want to consider editing in a less stressful topic area, or at least use dispute resolution to better work through any issues with regards to a topic area. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 07:14, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Moneytrees I am so upset with this guy I don't mind taking a full ban after and never coming back but he cannot be allowed to go around just remove reference information, frankly so much damage has been done already I don't know if I could fix it,
Moneytrees hello could you please submit a block I can't because I'm blocked. Could you please also add the 5 refs back for stalemate if I'm not unblocked. I'd appreciate that I do really apologize for getting worked up earlier I've had alot of stuff going on in personal life, and I just got so made the guy was disregarding fact. I definitely know I stepped out of line with the insults but the reference this guy listed is 1 to my 6 and I would consider the Montreal Gazette article as the main reference, it is clearly stated in the closing paragraph that the raids by police ended the conflict and there was no victory mentioned cuz there was none, the Montreal Gazette extensivly covered the conflict and was the first source of information during it all other newspapers basically copied the stuff that the Montreal Gazette was releasing and some of the references they were talking about who created in the early 2000s before the full scope of the conflict was visible. That's why I would consider them having an official reference because they reported on it officially they had reporters killed reporting on it... It's so frustratingCanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 03:40, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's guys all good and when I said "I know I'm going off" that was in my reference to frustration and my use of language above either way concede and give up on editing for Wikipedia as I don't believe this guy would enter any conflict resolution with me and he would not give an inch so it's all good I will let him win and enemy was just the term I used because he is launching a attacks(removing content and decreasing the quality of the page overall) against pages plain and simple. Don't feel worrying or wasting time anymore. Cheers you guys can delete this user page I won't be accessing it anymore once I get a response telling me that I probably need to delete it myself in which case I'm not too sure how to do that. Request reason:

Hello, I know that I have caused some editors on here grief and for that I apologize. I request a second chance, a chance to contribute to Wikipedia once again. The reason in which I was initially blocked was for copy and pasting. At the time I was trying to rush and make many articles at once, I would copy sections of an article and then rewrite it, I got sloppy and put some through which where checked by a administrator who put a ban on me. I 100% understand, especially now the seriousness of copyright laws and how important it is to write something in your own words for legal reasons. I can certainly assure you that if I am allowed to return, that will never be an issue again. The reason in which I was further banned from editing is more of an series of unfortunate circumstances. It all started over the result of the end of the Quebec biker War, an article that I had read stated that the conflict ended due to a police stalemate. I didn't know that there was many sources stating that it was a Hell's Angels victory, I would have been open to discussion but it just kept getting deleted. When I had been already blocked for the copy pasting stuff, I saw that someone had changed the result and removed what I thought to be a legitimate reference. I did not even know what sock puppetry was at the time and I walked right into it unfortunately. I edited when I was banned. Everything just spiraled out of control from there, I was not in a very good place in my personal life and I relied on editing on Wikipedia to escape from those issues. So being blocked I just became increasingly frustrated and got myself into a hole that I might not be able to get out of. If I have been in a better place at the time I probably would have just talked it out and everything would have been fine. I have made some edits that can be considered destructive, especially when I was frustrated when this all happened. But these were reverted by the editor that I had issues with. And for that I do apologize I know it is not constructive. In the past since I owned many books relating to these subjects I had read them before. Points during editing I had become lazy and was entering knowledge without properly referencing it. This led to issues with this other editor. However they don't actually check the information to see if they can find a reference they just removed it which is fine. But I am capable of finding the references now and fixing any of my mistakes. I ask for that chance. 2605:8D80:6E1:59E2:11A5:6D35:63C1:54CF (talk) 07:56, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have a substantial number of untagged sockpuppet accounts. Because I'm feeling lazy and generous today, I'll give you one single opportunity to list the other accounts you've used and not have this held against you. This only counts for your very next edit. A complete list of all accounts you've used. Any that you fail to disclose in your very next edit will be held against you and will make it virtually impossible to get your block lifted. --Yamla (talk) 21:11, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yamla yes, I won't lie, I am looking be honest and get things back on the right path. I initially got caught right after my first ban for copy and paste. The account was something along the lines of IcemanChuckLidell. That was the first account that I was caught with. It was banned and I received further penalties for sock puppetry though I will admit I did not fully understand it at the time, I was just trying to fix what I thought was wrong. Anyways since then I thought I would just have to do it the wrong way so I created accounts Crimetimereader, Mc1813, Hotwhistle14 and LinkRot67. Again I do apologize for these actions, I thought the only way I could do it was the wrong way. It was not right but I was using them to positively contribute to Wikipedia. They were mostly just for small edits but over the last little bit I have begun to contribute a lot more because the unblock guide stated "You are strongly encouraged to make significant and useful contributions to other Wikimedia projects prior to appealing."

Yamla I promise I am not trying to act in bad faith I meant everything I said above. ExNhilo87 is not my account, I do know the owner who is a friend and a fan of MMA, they are not a sock. I told them I would no longer be able to edit MMA content for Canadians or upkeep the list, they are alot more lazy about it then I was, I did my updates during the live events. And those are mine, I legitimately forgot about Sanjinduran, as I never saved it to my device. And I only made one edit off 3agleEye$mith before I decided to try and take the proper route. I also did not save its login info, I just copy and pasted the ones I had. I promise I am not trying to act in bad faith, I wouldn't be putting so much effort into getting unblocked just to mess it up on purpose. Today is quite busy and I have been running around, if I had the time when I responded to sit down and go back and see the names in page edit history I would have responded with the full details then I wouldn't have caused that, I should have just mentioned that I had a couple others and I would get the names.CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 22:19, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You blew your chance. I'll go mark this account as banned, not just blocked, due to your chronic bad behaviour. Zero edits over the next six months, if you wish to avail yourself of WP:SO. I want to make this exceptionally clear, zero edits. Not just zero edits with this account. Zero edits. --Yamla (talk) 22:48, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting second Chance

[edit]
Yamla. Hello, I could tell that you were serious. So I have not made a single edit until now. It has been well over 6 months and I am still committed to trying to return as a productive member of Wikipedia. I don't want to do things the wrong way anymore as I said before. This is my official unblock request. You may notice that some of my words have been repurposed from my prior request. That is because I meant what I said, and I couldn't have worded it better. I am sorry for before.

Hello, I know it is stated that apologies and expressions of remorse are not needed, however I know that I have caused some editors on here grief and for that I do apologize. I can certainly assure you that if I am allowed to return, that will never be an issue from me again. The reason in which I was further banned from editing is for sock puppetry. In all honesty, I did not really understand what it was or the ramifications of doing so initially. I edited when I was banned. Everything just spiraled from there. Once I was banned, I thought that the only way that I could fix the mistakes I had made and finish adding the information I had was continue my actions. I definitely know now how foolish this was as my initial reason for being blocked wasn't even that severe. If I had just taken the proper steps and calmed down at the time I probably wouldn't be in this situation, but unfortunately I dug myself deeper with my choices.

Eventually I consulted another user about my situation. He suggested that if I start making the right choices that I might actually have a chance of being unbanned. The unblocking page suggested that "Banned users seeking a return are well-advised to make significant and useful contributions". So I stopped hiding my activities for the most part and began uploading much larger contributions to pages. Fixing some of the mistakes I had previously made and adding additional properly referenced information to several articles. Six months ago I decided to make the right choice. I requested a unblock and released all the information that I had access to at the time about my sock puppet accounts. I was also open with the moderator about my activities (admitted to commiting sock puppetry). Unfortunately I did not have access to all of the information requested at the time. Regardless all of them were listed by the moderator, even the ones I didn't have the information saved for. To prove my commitment and avail myself of a SO, I was not to edit Wikipedia for 6 months. Well 6 months has passed and I have refrained from any form of editing or sock puppetry and will continue to do so. I am committed to properly contributing and moving forward as a productive member of Wikipedia.

Almost all of my contributions made during the prior period were reverted by you guys, which is fair as I made them when I was a sock puppet. This unfortunately means that several of my errors or mistakes were also brought back on some pages. Errors that need to be corrected regardless. I have over 250,000 characters of contributions saved and properly referenced. This includes a couple pages that were deleted (because I made them as a sock). So I am eager to begin making contributions again properly. Even if I am not allowed to return, this information is still legitimate and I believe not adding it to Wikipedia would be robbing readers of the knowledge. Either way, I do request a fair trial and again I want to professionally apologize for my actions in the past, I don't believe it reflects what I can do for Wikipedia. I have learned my lesson through the stress this whole situation brought me. If I am allowed to return to editing again, I will show good conduct, I will make sure to follow Wikipedias guidelines and do my best to continue learning. I will also do my best to start contributing as a member of the community again. If not I shall address issues I have via talk pages. I will do it the right way with proper discussion and references, I will not insult or argue.

I will do it the right way with proper discussion and references, I will not insult or argue.CanadianHistorian(MMA & History) (talk) 21:12, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No obvious CU technical evidence of ban evasion. That's a good thing. If you wish to be unbanned, follow the process outlined at WP:UNBAN. At a minimum, you'll need to address your prior bad faith acts and will need to list all of your sockpuppet accounts. --Yamla (talk) 10:27, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Some issues

[edit]

You wrote here in this edit [3] that " Stadnick cut off the supply of narcotics to the remaining Loners, this caused a temporary decline forcing the club to seek alternative sources of supply for their narcotics, eventually coming to a deal with the Outlaws motorcycle club", giving your source page 127 of Jerry Langton's Showdown. Langton does not say that. What he actually was "Raco's Woodbridge Loners stayed where they were and before long faded into obscurity". And this edit [4], you wrote "On 1 August 1995, the Toronto clubhouse of Satan's Choice – which was backing the Diablos – was hit by a rocket fired from a military rocket launcher injuring several members and killing one", giving your source as page 118 of Mr. Langton's book. On page 118, Langton: "Early in the morning, the otherwise quiet Toronto neighborhood of Riverdale shook as a huge boom shattered windows and woke everyone up. The heavily fortified front door of the Satan's Choice's clubhouse on Kintyre Avenue had been blown off". He says nothing about anybody being injured or killed. About the same incident, the journalist Yves Lavigne wrote the explosion caused by the rocket "tore a large hole in the door and blew windows out of three neighboring houses, but did not injure the five bikers inside the building", see page 209 of the book Hells Angels At War by Lavinge. Nobody was killed in this attack. You made that this claim that somebody was killed out of thin air. What was the name of the Satan's Choice biker supposedly killed? You are the only editor who made that claim that somebody was killed in the rocket attack on 1 August 1995.

In this edit [5], you wrote " Howard "Pigpen" Berry of the Satan's Choice opened fire on the clubhouse of the Popeyes Motorcycle Club with a sawed-off Lee–Enfield .303 rifle with a ten-round clip, killing one member of the Popeyes motorcycle club and injuring two more", giving your source as page 73 of Peter Edwards's book Hard Road: Bernie Guindon and the Reign of the Satan's Choice Motorcycle Club. The actual source says "Kirby said he was in Montreal when Pigpen opened fire on the Poyeyes's clubhouse with a sawed-off .303 with a ten-round clip. "It was like a cannon going off', Kirby said". It says nothing about anybody being killed or wounded. Mr. Berry is still alive and this is a serious BLP violation on your part to accuse him of committing a murder. It appears you are a fabulist who invents things out of thin air and you try to give your fantasies that have no foundation in reality some basis by crediting them to RS that say nothing of the sort. I am just giving three examples, but there are numerous other examples you making things up and crediting them to RS that did not support your statements. --A.S.
