Talk:Christianity by country

[edit]

Greetings

I see you commented on the Talk:Christianity by country page some time ago. There is currently a request for comment out on this page. I would like to invite you to comment. There seems to be some opposition to using the Eurobaromter 2005 figures for the number of Christians, instead of the inflated non-sourced estimates of the CIA Factbook.

LINC-8

[edit]

While randomly browsing Wikipedia, I discovered that there is a project at Uppsala Univ. to emulate the LINC-8. I was privileged to learn most of what I know about computing by sitting down with a LINC-8, the Small Computer Handbook, and the LINC-8 programming manual. I wrote drivers, analysis programs and just about anything else that was needed to support a medical research team.

I still have an original copy of the LINC-8 Programming Manual from DEC. My copy is from the 5th printing in 1970. If this would be of any value to your team, I would be happy to make you a copy. I also still have the 1967 and 1972 versions of DEC's Small Computer Handbook. Please let me know if you are interested.

Thank you, Veloman (talk) 01:42, 19 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Veloman! I'm sorry it took me a while to reply. The fellow who is working on the LINC-8 emulator has been busy recently and has not been able to discuss the usefulness of these manuals. I know we have a PDP-12 manual, and also various Small Computer Handbooks (the 1968 and 1970 versions are on the shelf right next to me), but I am unsure of the LINC-8 manual.
I will try to get some more attention from the programmer in question, or contact the department housing the LINC-8 to see whether they have the manuals available. If any of your manuals are useful to us I will be sure to let you know. Thank you very much for your offer, and I am also happy to hear of your interest in the project!
