Godfrey Blow
[edit]Hi, great work on Godfrey Blow and Stuckism in Australia. I'm doing a bit of tweaking, but I don't want to tread on your toes here. You seem to be fairly new to Wiki and mastering the complexities of it all - well done. I thought there might be a few options you hadn't discovered yet. Things can always be changed back. I'm working on contemporary art and artists, particulary the Young British Artists and the Stuckists. Any input is welcome.
As you've got an interest in the Australians, any more information on those artists would be great - more biog data etc.
Oh, to reply, click on my name (below), then "discussion" tab at top of my page and "edit" and put new posts at the bottom of the page.

New to Wiki
[edit]You can start any new article you want. Either click on a link, or do a search. Both will bring up a page for you to start the article. Here is a tip:
- Some of the coding on Wiki is difficult, or other things like categories might not be easy to discover. Find another article similar to the one you're working on, click the edit button, then copy the relevant code, categories, stub notice or whatever, and paste it into your own article, changing the text where relevant. You can do this with uploading pictures as well.
However, bear in mind that subjects of individual articles should have some notability about them. This can be shown by shows they have had, newspaper mentions and so on. Otherwise the article is open to challenge and sometimes can get deleted (there is a discussion/vote on this - see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion).
However, don't worry about making mistakes, as everything is kept in the history and someone else can tidy up after you. I will keep an eye out, or you can let me know if there's anything new you've put up, or anything you want specific help about. You're doing a good job though.
Peter Fuller would certainly merit an article. Some of the other Stuckists may. It depends how much they've achieved. Regan Tamanui seems to be noteworthy as starting an international movement, and Godfrey Blow has enough shows and awards, as well as being exhibited in a national museum in the UK, so I certainly consider that makes him a noteworthy artist. I don't know Graham Wilson, but if you consider he merits an article, the best thing is to start one. Otherwise you might consider puttting more info on some individual artists into the main Stuckism in Australia article, as it's capable of a lot more expansion.
The more references you can put in an article the better. Check here User:Tyrenius#Useful_Wiki_pages for some useful pages of advice.
Wiki advice is "be bold" in you editing. You can also do edits to existing articles if you want.
If you put 4 tildes ~ after your message on a talk page, it signs your name and date automatically.

Naive John
[edit]After our previous communications, I've been keeping an eye on your edits for you. I pruned Naive John a bit under Wikipedia:Neutral point of view (NPOV) and also Wikipedia:NOR. Basically, one of the Wiki rules is that everything has to come from verifiable secondary sources that can be referenced, so personal interpretation isn't allowed. I hope you don't feel I'm treading on your toes, but someone else would do the same thing sooner or later. You're doing a great job and don't worry about "getting it wrong", as other editors will sort things out. Wiki is weak on art, compared with things like science and computing articles, so your input is valued. Thanks. Tyrenius 07:22, 19 April 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Michmayhew.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Michmayhew.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:04, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
Is the artist the same as the comic book illustrator? See "What links here". If not, we will need to disambiguate, which I will do. If so, then it needs to be made clear, which it is not at the moment. Tyrenius 14:19, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
Resurrection
[edit]Hi, please note you (accidentally) uploaded a new image onto an image page which already had the name Resurrection (for a Greek icon) and overwrote it - making Spencer's image appear on the pages which linked to the name. I've sorted it out, and renamed the Spencer image as Resurrection(Spencer). Tyrenius 15:10, 26 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, sorry about that. A message came up saying that there was an image of the same name and I wasn't sure what to do! Thanks for the assistance. VeraHutchinson 00:53, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
Rename your image before you upload it, or if in doubt, cancel and start over. Tyrenius 01:34, 27 April 2006 (UTC)
This link you added goes to a page where the images don't work. I haven't deleted it in case you have a way of fixing it. I think the external links are starting to get excessive, especially for the size of the article. External links should be kept in moderation, as article content is always preferred. Check out External links. Glad to see you back in the fray. Tyrenius 07:14, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Nomination for admin
[edit]Well, that was a bolt out of the blue! Thanks very much for offering to nominate me as an admin. I put myself forward on 31 March, and, as recommended during that RfA, decided to give myself at least 3 months before I considered it again. Well, that will be up in a week's time, so the timing is right. However, I hope you don't mind if I think about this for a day or two, before giving you a definite answer, just to let it sink in. Tyrenius 03:08, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Sorry for the delay in getting back, but I wanted to let the prospect settle down. I would be very pleased to accept your offer. A recent discussion on AfD backlog has confirmed this. I've been closing (near) unanimous keeps, but bypassing others which only admins can close, so that would certainly be something to start on straightaway. Three months have passed since my previous RfA. I feel I've taken on board the comments made there and put them into practice, and have gained a proper understanding of consensus working, which I must admit was very alien to work I've undertaken in my other life. I had 1331 edits then, and I've over 4,500 now, so a lot more experience in wiki. I thought it might be of interest, just in case you hadn't seen the Xeni Jardin debate I got involved with through an RfC, it's here: [1][2].Tyrenius 04:31, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for nom. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked as it's opened up my previous nom. It needs to result in a page Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Tyrenius 2, so instead of nominating Tyrenius, you have to nominate Tyrenius 2, by the look of it. Thanks. Tyrenius 15:57, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
RfA now in progress
[edit]Thanks again. It's sorted now. You can follow its progress on this page. Tyrenius 04:36, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
OK, I've merged the other article into this one. The other article now redirects to this one. You might like to check the new version. Tyrenius 10:58, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for that, its good to have the one version. VeraHutchinson 13:01, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
Rfa successful
[edit]Since you last logged on, my Rfa has concluded successfully with a very strong 60/1/1 result. Thanks again for setting it in motion. If you need assistance, you know where I am! Tyrenius 20:13, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Comingout.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Comingout.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Shell babelfish 20:02, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:Selfportraitwithbeard.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Selfportraitwithbeard.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:58, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:407guydenning.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:407guydenning.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. βcommand 22:25, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Kenunsworth.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Kenunsworth.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:55, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ARCHIBALD.jpg}
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:ARCHIBALD.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Non-free rationale for File:TheBlueManBig.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:TheBlueManBig.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
