Welcome!

[edit]
Hello, Wikipidean's Creed! Welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. You may benefit from following some of the links below, which will help you get the most out of Wikipedia. If you have any questions you can ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or by typing four tildes "~~~~"; this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you are already excited about Wikipedia, you might want to consider being "adopted" by a more experienced editor or joining a WikiProject to collaborate with others in creating and improving articles of your interest. Click here for a directory of all the WikiProjects. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field when making edits to pages. Happy editing! Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. Theroadislong (talk) 09:12, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How can I find a article

[edit]

I need help finiding articles to fix or edit wrong typos what is the best way to find one? I'm just asking this because I want to do something useful instead of putting and creating userboxes on my user page. Wikipidean's Creed (talk) 15:31, 19 October 2020 (UTC) @Wikipidean's Creed: -[reply]

Often times I fix issues as I see them. I browse Wikipedia quite a lot, so this happens quite a lot. You can see examples of this in my recent contributions. You can also patrol new edits at Special:RecentChanges. I also do this a lot, mostly reverting vandalism or seemingly unhelpful or unreasonable edits. You can also research a topic of interest and improve articles related to it, perhaps by adding more details or references. Or you could refine articles for formatting, grammar, or style. The English language is the predominant global language, so many readers (and consequently) users of the English Wikipedia are not native English speakers. This results in lots of grammatical and spelling errors, as well as uncomfortable or odd wording. Instances of this are usually concentrated in articles which would not be interesting or relevant to native language English speakers (such as, for example, the internal politics of India, or administrative divisions in Kazakhstan). I hope this helps, and if you have any more questions, please ask. Alternatively, you could try and get in touch with a more experienced editor (I only have about 500 edits here and about 2000 more on the Simple English Wikipedia). Beaneater (talk) 15:36, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I do not mean to be rude, but I also want to inform you that your username misspells the term 'Wikipedian' as 'Wikipidean'. You may wish to request a username change, or alternatively create a new account using the correct spelling before you have established yourself too much on this account. Beaneater (talk) 15:38, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, But I didn't understand much from the username change article may you to change it? Wikipidean's Creed (talk) 15:56, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Wikipidean's Creed: - I am not able to change usernames. You can go here to request that your account be re-named. Beaneater (talk) 18:13, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Or be different! User names are not obligated to be anything other than what the user wants (with exceptions, for example, cannot be a company name). David notMD (talk) 19:04, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have made a userbox abot my username and for some reason I am addicted to them Wikipidean's Creed (talk) 19:05, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And, I see that you are a Class C chess player. David notMD (talk) 19:08, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I can't say that I'm good at the game but yet I enjoy it Wikipidean's Creed (talk) 19:10, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia recommends that each comment have one more : than the comment before it. This creates a progression of indents. My mention of Class C was tongue-in-cheek, as you have added that Userbox three times. Back to the encyclopedia itself: to date, you have made three edits and all three have been reverted. All new editors have a steep learning curve. Checking back on articles you edited to see if your edits were retained is part of the learning process. David notMD (talk) 19:14, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Do you know how can I disable editing for other people on my user page Wikipidean's Creed (talk) 19:12, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

User page or Talk page? Editors rarely edit another editor's User page. Exceptions could include information that should not be posted (addresses, phone numbers...). So far, no one has edited your User page. Talk pages are for communicating with other editors (but not to be treated as chat or forums or essays). You are allowed to delete what other people add to your Talk pages. Some people leave everything, others archive the older stuff, and others delete everything fairly quickly. David notMD (talk) 19:19, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And I did fix it sorry for the problem Wikipidean's Creed (talk) 19:15, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Iblis, you may be blocked from editing. Ok sorry, but I have been told that these images are offensive to muslims that it contains drawings of angles and details. Wikipidean's Creed (talk) 18:17, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't mean by vandalizing in any way Wikipidean's Creed (talk) 18:18, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
WC, Wikipedia doesn't delete images because they might offend someone. You can find more information at Wikipedia:NOTCENSORED. —valereee (talk) 11:31, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A high percentage of your edits have been to your User page, Talk pages and Teahouse. Perhaps it is time to turn to editing articles. There are more than 6,000,000 articles in English Wikipedia, and a HUGE portion of that needs improvement: adding content, removing content, adding and fixing references, etc. David notMD (talk) 12:08, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
