You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, if your contributions to Wikipedia form all or part of work for which you are, or expect to be, paid, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.
Please also note that you are permitted to use a username that contains the name of a company or organization if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text
{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Will N at Adler and Allan. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Adler and Allan, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 12:48, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- Apologies, this article is out of date and the people who made previous updates have since left the business, so I picked it up. But yes, I do work for Adler and Allan and have now added a paid disclosure notice to my user page. Does this sufficiently meet the requirements for me to edit this page? Will N at Adler and Allan (talk) 13:21, 22 June 2022 (UTC)
- If you feel that there is material within Adler and Allan which is incorrect or not neutral, please point this out on the article's talk page. Likewise, if you have content which you think should be added, please discuss this on the talk page. Using the template {{Request edit}} will help draw attention to your request. The COI guideline very strongly discourages direct article editing. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 15:23, 24 June 2022 (UTC)
