My Userboxes are saying bye-bye

LAX

[edit]

I noticed you nominated two-lacrosse related stubs for COTW. Due to lacrosse's not-as-popular-as-baseball status, many Wikipedians chose not to support it. However, as I play lacrosse myself, I feel that there should be more lax-related articles. Do you want to work together to create these articles? --Osbus 01:45, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That sounds great! I love lacrosse and wish for it to have more exposure in the United States. You mean spicifically STX and/or Brine right? Yarnalgo 03:14, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, Brine and STX, but also other lacrosse-related topics. The problem with the Wikiproject, though, is I don't think enough people will join. I'd definitely love to start it though. --Osbus 19:16, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I created a subpage at User:Yarnalgo/Lacrosse for any thing that needs dicussing regarding the articles. I agree with you on the wikiproject, it was just an idea. --Yarnalgo 21:08, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tilde v. talk page

TfD nomination of Template:Talk sign

[edit]

Template:Talk sign has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. — WCityMike (talk • contribs) 20:58, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I saw you nominated Lacrosse for WP:AID. I know nothing about this subject, but I agree the article could use some work, and it would be very useful for people like me. Did you consider putting it up on WP:JI? It seems unlikely that it will get chosen as AID, but you could probably get some people to help you with Join In. Good luck! Pruneau 23:51, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea! I'm not as familier with WP:JI so I will look in to it. Thanks for the tip! --Yarnalgo 02:22, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I followed your request to translate some sections of the German Lacrosse article on my user_talk page. Just take whatever you need. It may not be perfect as I am not really into sports ;-) --Olaf Fritz 15:35, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yo

[edit]

Hi, just letting you know that i am listing wife.ogg that you uploaded for deletion. It's nothing personal, but i feel that it does not belong here. Check it out at Wikipedia:Images_and_media_for_deletion/2006_June_9

Cheers, THE KING 13:04, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you ever check back here, It's no problem that was just sort of a test for me. --Yarnalgo 16:11, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for being so understanding about it - and no offence intended with the illiterate 13yo boy comment. Actually that comment was probably inappropriate, its just that i thought it pretty accurately summed up the quality of the recording, through no fault of your own. In future maybe you might consider using a screen, or maybe buying a better microphone? THE KING 07:27, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for the advise, and again, don't worry about the comment. --Yarnalgo 18:08, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Minor point of ettiquette

[edit]

Hi. This is more of a minor annoyance than a real problem, but why did you replace my bullet point on the reference desk with a colon? I specifically chose a bullet point to make the separation between the question and my answer clearer, and I can't see any reason why it shouldn't have remained there. Can you please explain your reasons? Thank you. :) Road Wizard 18:25, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

At Help:Talk_page#Formatting it says a user should use a colon to seperate the different comments. I'm sorry if I caused any problems, I didn't mean to upset you. Sorry about it. :) --Yarnalgo 18:33, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You didn't upset me, and as I said there was no real problem. However, the help page you linked to appears to be more of a guideline of suggested formatting rather than a policy that must be strictly adhered to. I suggest that you may wish to avoid altering the style of somebody else's posts in the future, unless there is a specific problem, as this will sidestep any unnecessary agravation. Anyway, don't worry about me, I'm just a grumpy old man. Happy editing. :) Road Wizard 18:52, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, no problem. Happy editing to you too! --Yarnalgo 18:54, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, and thanks

[edit]

I came here in reply to the message you left on my userpage (about "Do not correct other user's comments"): I'm sorry about that. Even without reading the guidelines page, it was somewhat clear to me that editing others' comments on talk pages was awkward, but I thought that as the question was about English, it would be better to subject the other user to mild aggravation than to teach the person wrong English. I notice that you've also done the same :) Also, thanks for answering my question on the reference desk; it confirms my suspicions. --Shreevatsa 16:12, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Lost BigGun.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Lost BigGun.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

MLL Team infobox

[edit]

I saw that you removed the division stuff from the MLL infobox. I don't follow the MLL, but it looks like it used to be organized into divisions, and then it was recently changed to conferences. I had the division stuff in the infobox so that the box would contain years in which the team was a division champion. I'm fine with your change, but I thought I'd let you know why it was there in the first place. --MrBoo (talk, contribs) 02:47, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, sounds good. If you want to put it back thats fine, but its not really the right place to put it; you could put the "division" titles in the conference titles spot and then mabye make a note that they were in the american(/national) division at that time, or we could do something like the MLB infobox (here), where it sort of says how long the team has been in their conference/league. --Yarnalgo 02:54, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template:NLL

[edit]

I saw that you added this cool Tnavbar thing, but that gives links to the Tnavbar pages. Wouldn't it make more sense to have {{Tnavbar|NLL|plain=1|nodiv=1}} instead of {{Tnavbar|Tnavbar|plain=1|nodiv=1}}, which gives links to the NLL template page and talk page? Or am I misunderstanding the purpose? --MrBoo (talk, contribs) 01:15, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OOPS!! Yes, it is supposed to have "NLL" and i fixed it. Sorry about that.--Yarnalgo 02:29, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
