Re: Industrialisation of South India
[edit]Hi! About industrialisation, well, I've never given it much thought. (any particular reason you asked?) Anyhow, South India, or India itself for that matter, is being very fast industrialised. The progress and changes in the landscape in the last few years is quite remarkable. On the overall, industrialisation has left us with a more consumerist lifestyle and a better living experience. During the 80s and 90s, the trend in most of South India, and especially the state of Kerala where I live, was for people to go abroad in search of jobs after completing their education here. But industrialisation has brought plenty of jobs, and an end to the brain drain. Also, industrialisation, IMO, is also helping to bridge the great rural-urban divide that exists in India. In short, I totally welcome it, and look forward to the great Indian century.
Btw, I just checked the African American portal. Great job. Keep it up. Happy editing!-- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu Joseph |TALK06:42, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- I know you asked me because I lived there (that was obvious, wasnt it?). I meant to ask if you were doing some sort of study. Anyways, coming back to the topic... I am assuming that by "industrialisation" you also mean "globalisation". Your sources were correct in telling you about the general reluctance of South Indians to let go off their cultural ties. However, in most of the cities (big ones like Bangalore or Hyderabad, and even in smaller ones like mine), there have been sharp changes, showing a strong affinity to western culture. But I dont think Indian culture is going to vanish anytime just like that. People have learnt to keep the good (and easy) things about our culture, and move on embracing modernisation. In short, the cultural ties are still strong, but people have an increasingly broader, and more westernised outlook. -- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu Joseph |TALK13:46, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Haha! Glad I could help. I've never been good at expressing stuff like this. My appologies if things seemed quite obscure and confusing. India is a land of many surprises. Do visit it once. -- thunderboltza.k.a.Deepu Joseph |TALK17:59, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Jainism
[edit]Great job with the whole thing! I have only one complaint. You spelled some of the Tirthankaras' names wrong. Sheetalnath is, for example, the correct spelling, not Shianath. And there actually was an article on Mallinath (correct spelling) all along - but in needs a cleanup. --queso man 02:44, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Northern Wei
[edit]I appreciate your expansion of Northern Wei, but a lot of the text looks awfully like copied from a book. Is it? If it is, it violates GFDL and cannot stand. Please discuss this at Talk:Northern Wei. Thanks. --Nlu (talk) 05:59, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
- I've done fairly major rewrites. However, again, while I appreciate your enthusiasm and contribution, please do look out for this in the future. Please also make sure that your edits comply with the Manual of Style and the specific guidelines on China-related articles. Thanks! --Nlu (talk) 06:31, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
I think you had a good over-view of Philosophy as it was at the time of the Greeks.
- Please continue putting your view.
- I'm getting borred and the single view of "Central Committee" of philosophy.
- The central committe is two people: Dbucker and Ben Nelson.
- Dont't give up too easily, please! You sound like you don't just want to Ego-trip with your personal view - which, unfortunately the two above characters I think want to do.
- They have what I like to call a "MAGIC WORD": it is "ational".
- I'm against it because, for one thing, everybody thinks they are rational.
- Best regards, --Ludvikus 16:52, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Go So Young
[edit]A tag has been placed on Go So Young, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Betaeleven 13:00, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
- I went ahead and removed the tag now that you've added more information. Betaeleven 13:41, 29 March 2007 (UTC)
Recent work in Logic
[edit]You asked about my reference on the Logic talk page to recent work in the foundations of logic. I believe I was referring to the ongoing work at the Institute for Advanced Science and Engineering here in Palo Alto (see http://www.iase.info).

Request Lock on Jin Dynasty (1115-1234) page
[edit]From the last poll regarding the origin of the Jin Dynasty rulers are not koreans have been put to rest. However, nationalist koreans have once again added the section that Jin Dynasty rulers are from Korea. And this have been ongoing for some time now which will end up as an edit war sooner or later.
Reading from your contributions i trust that you are a responsible and capable member of wikipedia. I would be greatful if protection can be initiated on the Jin Dynasty page.
