Vilamar e Corticeiro de Cima is a civil parish in the municipality of Cantanhede, Portugal. It was formed in 2013 by the merger of the former parishes Vilamar and Corticeiro de Cima.[1] The population in 2011 was 1,501,[2] in an area of 11.05 km².[3] The civil parish is composed of four census designated villages, Vilamar being the seat and main town.
Location
[edit]The parish is about 10 kilometers northwest of the city of Cantanhede, and 13 kilometers from the Atlantic coast.
Economy
[edit]Economic activity is largely based on agriculture and jewellery, for which it is known throughout Portugal and beyond since the 19th century.
