Development of religion
[edit]Development of religion – (page view stats • edit • talk • history)
Absolutely vital article on a deeply fascinating concept. Currently a stub.--Coin945 (talk) 06:40, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

- Oppose - There is already a well-developed article History of religions. At the top of that article there is a link to another well-developed article, Religious studies. Throughout this article there are links to other articles, including, for example, Sociology of religion, which is well developed but has a tag at the top saying that more citations are needed. Perhaps this stub should be deleted. – Corinne (talk) 20:10, 5 February 2017 (UTC)
- This article has a different scope. It's about how a religion gets developed and evolves over time, rather than an overview of the history of all religions. At least that's my understanding.--Coin945 (talk) 05:07, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- You may be right. I don't know. But I found several other articles that might cover this topic: Evolutionary origin of religions, Evolutionary psychology of religion, Cognitive science of religion, in which the first line reads: "Cognitive science of religion is the study of religious thought and behavior from the perspective of the cognitive and evolutionary sciences", Theories about religions, Sociology of religion, and Anthropology of religion. – Corinne (talk) 15:05, 10 February 2017 (UTC)

Support I think this would be an excellent short-term project for us, kind of like the editing blitzes at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Blitzes. It would also show that we are committed to making Wikipedia a little less Euro- and US-centric and more globally balanced. – Corinne (talk) 16:05, 14 February 2017 (UTC)

Reader Rabbit
[edit]Reader Rabbit – (page view stats • edit • talk • history) - 101 daily hits
One of the most popular an successful edutainment video game series of all time. It sold over 6 million copies and won almost 200 awards. The article is really terrible at the moment. See Madeline (video game series) for an example of what this article could look like (baring in mind that Madleine is comparitively less popular/successful than Reader Rabbit).--Coin945 (talk) 02:57, 18 January 2017 (UTC)

- Comment - BabbaQ, I know nothing about this area, but I looked at the Madeline (video game series) article and thought, aren't some sections in that article rather long? Then I looked at the Reader Rabbit article and thought, the layout is similar, but it is much shorter. To me, it doesn't look terrible, but if you think more could be added to the article, I believe you. I just think the Madeline article may illustrate the idea that the longer the article, the better it is. What do you think is "terrible" about the Reader Rabbit article? – Corinne (talk) 15:19, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
- In my personal opinion the article could need some prose improvements. And there are definitely some potential for expansion, and adding of better sources. I think you should make your own mind up, but now you know my stance. Regards.--BabbaQ (talk) 22:51, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
Comment @Corinne:, I recently did a massive overhaul of the Reader Rabbit article so now it is in a much much better place. It used to look like this at the time of my nomination. After my expansion there is less of a need for this article to be chosen for TAFI.--Coin945 (talk) 05:57, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- Comment Coin945 I see the work you did, mostly on 6 February. If you still think the article could, and should, be expanded significantly, and better sources could be added, then it makes sense to leave it here as a nominee. If you think it is mainly the prose that needs work, you could withdraw it as a nominee here and put in a request for a copy-edit at GOCE. What do you think is best, or what would you like to see happen? – Corinne (talk) 15:51, 14 February 2017 (UTC)
- I think there's still more work to be done which justifies its inclusion in this list.--Coin945 (talk) 04:47, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

Comic timing
[edit]Comic timing – (page view stats • edit • talk • history)
- This seems like a core topic to Comedy. I found actually very few sources to expand upon this article on the internet (just searching for "Comic timing" it seems to get invoked quite a bit, with a hard definition and history is hard to find). Examples are abound across the Internet of notable comedians that make use of this, but the article right now could use a lot of work to have it be more than just a list of examples. Shaded0 (talk) 16:27, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
- Support – I'd actually say that this article should also be renamed to "Comedic timing". A Google search returns ~500k results for "Comic timing" and ~1.7m for "Comedic timing" – gwendy (talk) 15:14, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
