Function Summary: A Status bot that updates the user's status when they request on IRC

Function Details: IRC users message the bot when they want the bot to set their status to online or offline. The most basic command being "!status" which will use the user's irc nick to update the status and update it too the opposite of their current status. I will post the source once I've finished it.
Discussion

Could this be used not only with manual commands but automatic updating with users joining channels and leaving them? also have you thought about a flag for when users change nicks so that when a user sets their nick to user|away it automaticly updates on wiki? βcommand 2 19:27, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

The status being in sub-pages of the bot's own userspace, such as User:StatusBot/Status/someuser/somepageorother, if I'm extrapolating correctly from the bot's recent edits? If it's only making edits to such pages, it's essentially speediable. Alai (talk) 00:28, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- Ordinarily, yes, but, we're possibly talking about a lot of edits, and, a bot that makes edits for other users via off-wiki requests. That being said, I don't see a problem with giving it a short trial, and moving along quickly with this one. Approved for trial (3 days).
