Operator: Basilicofresco (msg)
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic supervised
Programming Language(s): pywikipedia
Function Overview: .yu top-level domain transition (regex)
Edit period(s): one time run
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): No (on it.wiki +90k edits)
Function Details: I performed this correction on italian wikipedia creating a manually-checked list of about 250 domain transitions. This list includes almost all linked websites on it.wiki with a non-.yu working mirror. I checked all deep linked pages on it-wiki, but I did not check for every internal page of every website. For this reason I'm going to replace home page links only.
Discussion
[edit]Have you spoken with the owner of MerlLinkBot? He seems to be approaching a very similar task to your own - you might look to join forces, or cover different sections or whatever. - Jarry1250 (t, c) 10:23, 22 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- What's the status of this bot request? ST47 (talk) 03:45, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As Jarry1250 suggested, I asked Merlissimo if he was interested in my list. Few days ago he answered me (on his own discussion page so I didn't read it immediately) to post it on mail:wikibots-l. I just posted it on the mailing list, in this way it will be useful also on other WPs. I also saw MerlLinkBot uses a different (non-regex) approach. At this point I ask the permission to start with some test edits. -- Basilicofresco (msg) 09:14, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Approved for trial (50 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Yes, I did the that post to wikibots-l. This seems to be well thought out, so please go ahead and make a few test edits. ST47 (talk) 16:00, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Done. I performed additional checks upon the list and now it should be pretty safe. -- Basilicofresco (msg) 19:44, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Trial complete.
- I can't see any problems with those. I trust the operator was happy with the results? - Jarry1250 (t, c) 19:03, 12 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Approved. Didn't see any comments on the users talk page wrt this bot task, nor on BON, edits seem fine Q T C 22:52, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
