Automatic-unsupervised, Automatic-supervised, or Manual: Automatic supervised
Programming language(s): AWB (nl)
Source code available: AWB (nl)
Function overview: Using AWB's pre-parse function.
Edit period(s): Continuous
Estimated number of pages affected: Zero
Exclusion compliant (Y/N): N
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y
Function details: Using AWB's pre-parse function, which checks if the article exists on a certain wiki, to check for interwiki between nl/en wiki's. I will not make any edits on en-wiki, it's purely to gain access to the preparse mode and adding interwiki on the Dutch page.
Discussion
[edit]- Hey. Were you aware that you don't need bot access to use AWB's pre-parse feature, nor do you need bot access for the "read" task here on en.wp? (I can't speak for nl with regards to the "write" task.) Thus there is no need to seek approval for this bot request, just go ahead and do it (assuming you've not hacked AWB to request 400 pages at once or something stupid like that). - Obviously, I've tried that, but it keeps saying I don't have the rights to do this. It keeps linking me here, so I guess I, in fact, do need access.. Grashoofd (talk) 15:30, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
- Oh, I'm with you, you want general AWB permission for your bot. Fair enough. Read-only access approved (please return for permission to edit if you so require in the future.) Approved. - Jarry1250 [Deliberation needed] 17:26, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
