Operator: Mikaey
Automatic or Manually Assisted: Automatic, unsupervised
Programming Language(s): C#
Function Overview: Amended version of ListasBot 1/ListasBot 4 to include searching for {{Persondata}}.NAME in article
Edit period(s): continuous
Already has a bot flag (Y/N): Y
Function Details: Function overview pretty much sums it up -- this would amend ListasBot 1 and ListasBot 4. If all other methods of finding something to use for the listas parameter in {{WPBiography}} fail, this would enable the bot to search the code of the article page for a {{Persondata}} template, and pulling the value of the NAME parameter (if it exists). This particular parameter, according to its documentation, is formatted the same way as DEFAULTSORT and listas are supposed to be formatted.
Discussion
[edit]- Looks like a fairly minor change to me. – Quadell (talk) 20:13, 20 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Let's throw {{Lifetime}} in there along with it. New sources for listas just keep popping up. Matt (talk) 08:06, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Approved for trial (50 edits). Please provide a link to the relevant contributions and/or diffs when the trial is complete. Let's see her go. Hopefully you'll be able to separate out the edits made according to this task from all ListasBot's other functions. – Quadell (talk) 13:47, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I started running the trial, but I made a minor screwup (I set up a flag to indicate whether or not the bot made an edit related to the trial, but I forgot to have it reset the flag after each article). I'm also off to go on a weekend vacation, so I'm respectfully requesting a reset to my 50 edits. I've rolled back all the edits the bot made during the trial, except for one where someone edited after the bot did. Sorry for the screwup, and I'll have an update hopefully Saturday night or Sunday. - No problem. – Quadell (talk) 22:08, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Does the bot have a logic to convert special characters in DEFAULTSORT as well? -- Magioladitis (talk) 20:41, 22 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Yup, it's been there since ListasBot 1. Matt (talk) 04:57, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Trial complete. Only change I made mid-run is to update the edit summary it made. Other than that, things ran pretty smoothly. The bot's last 50 edits are the trial run edits (the titles start with Talk:B, and the edit summary has "ListasBot 6 trial run" in it). Matt (talk) 06:09, 24 May 2009 (UTC) Approved. Looks great. – Quadell (talk) 14:31, 24 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
