Discussion
[edit]Comments from owner: I've been doing a lot of template work with AWB (Special:Contributions/Stepshep) and hopefully I can do things a bit quicker with AWB running with a bot account. Recently I've substituted or converted over 500 templates. I also have over 5000 Ohio articles to tag. To avoid issues that were had with another bot that was tagging Ohio articles (and other bots that tag for projects) it will only tag articles from a list I have cleaned. I will still watch its every move, but with less clicking. :) §hep • ¡Talk to me! 01:13, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I'm drawing a blank for some reason, but, there's a really good plugin around here somewhere for AWB, that'd help wikiproject tagging the articles. Also, I want to make sure we're clear on what you intend to do:
- Wikiproject talkpage tagging
- Template substitution?
For #2, where specifically would you be substing templates? Are you aware that there are some templates that should not be substed? SQLQuery me! 05:08, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- For number 1, I use the KingBotK Plugin for generic templates. And #2: the only templates that would be substituted can be found here: Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/User talk templates, I'll stick only to those on talk pages. An example of a job would be to substitute Template:Welcome. The job list would be Here. §hep • ¡Talk to me! 17:40, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Just a note, substituting welcome templates is not allowed to be done by a bot according to Wikipedia:BFDB. --SMS Talk 20:09, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- The bot will not be welcoming users. Just substituting templates that were not correctly done so. Another bot that does this is Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/MBisanzBot. §hep • ¡Talk to me! 21:40, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

- 50 edits done. §hep • ¡Talk to me! 23:24, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- I would approve but I only saw substing work and nothing involving Project tagging. Think you could do a short run of that, just for completeness sake?

- Yep, I'll get right on it. §hep • ¡Talk to me! 19:21, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- 21 talk pages tagged. §hep • ¡Talk to me! 19:39, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
- Edits looked good to me, correctly replaced the obsolete WP template and seemed to correctly add the rest, didn't notice any comments on Wikipedia:BON or the bots talk page indicating any upset editors. Approved. Q T C 20:40, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
