[edit]If desired, I can implement the exclusion compliance. Please let me know, if this is necessary for a read-only bot. I would need bot status for the English and German part of Wikipedia. Please contact me, if you have any questions regarding my scientific experiment.
- I am feeling like a grant of the bot flag here would not be problematic. We could even block the bot and it would be able to perform API calls. However, we can only grant the flag for the English Wikipedia. The German Wikipedia is independent and has their own processes. MBisanz talk 02:42, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- I just realized, that the bot name should have a capital C, i.e. Collabsearch, instead of collabsearch. Please let me know, if it's necessary to change it and where I can do that modification. Sorry for the hassles. I will also apply for a bot status on the German Wikipedia, thanks for the advice. Ps79 talk 10:36, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Are you running into a limit, or do you just think you might? Rich Farmbrough, 13:26, 6 September 2009 (UTC).[reply]
- I need to retrieve more than 50 search results at a time, as I will be re-ranking those search results. I plan to only fetch the first 250 search results and re-rank them, but it would be beneficial if, I can fetch then in one API call. The search results limit has been changed recently from 500 to 50 for regular users, and if such a change would happen during my experiment, it would be a disaster. Therefore I would like to apply for a bot status flag, to ensure, that I can fetch 500 search results at once, so it's rather a measure of precaution, than a real limit. I hope my answer is sufficient, otherwise please ask. Thanks a lot in advance. Ps79 talk 7:37 PM, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
