[edit]I need to make some changes under the sportsman boxer Manny Pacquiao, there are several errors on his page that are very misinformed. there is a semi protection on it, how do I go about editing his page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kagus Con (talk • contribs) 00:05, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- If you hit edit or view source, in blue at the top it should say "submit an edit". Click that and follow instructions. CTF83! 00:11, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

American Rhodes scholars
[edit]Please add...... Anne Elizabeth Kafoure..... year 2000.....to the list of American Rhodes Scholars
sincerely, Dr. Alan S. Altman, Ed.D Nova Southeastern University — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.74.182.170 (talk) 04:07, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- If you mean the article List of Rhodes Scholars, you will see that at the top it says it is "A partial list of Rhodes Scholars covering notable people who are also Rhodes Scholarship recipients". In Wikipedia terms, that "notable" means that it is a list of people who have an article about them. If Ms Kafoure ever gets her own article, backed up by references to reliable independent sources, then that article can be added to the list. I hope that helps. Morgan Williams - Rugby Player
[edit]Morgan Williams (ex professional rugby player) is still part of the Rugby Canada organization and works as a skills coach for both the National Canadian Women's team and Men's team. He is currently (as of March 21st,2014) in Japan for a tournament working as the assistant coach for the Canadian Men's 7's Team. He does this as well as works as a full time firefighter in Victoria, BC. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.180.28.24 (talk) 06:00, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- thank you for your post. this is the Wikipedia Help desk where we try to answer questions about how to use and edit Wikipedia. Do you have such a question? -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 14:13, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- It's apparently about Morgan Williams (rugby union). The article says he "was fired from his position as the head coach of the Canadian national men's sevens team by Rugby Canada". If he still does other work for Rugby Canada then the article sounds misleading. Anything with "fired" gives the impression you no longer work there unless otherwise stated. - Given that it was entirely unsourced, I've removed it per WP:BLP policy. AndyTheGrump (talk) 15:02, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

- François Jouffroy (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)
- I think it was complaining about
accessdate = 18 March
in one of the references, which was causing a red error message at the foot of the article. I have changed this toaccessdate = 18 March 2014

Edit page MALFUNCTIONED!
[edit]I was attempting to edit a section of the Wikipedia page, Agnes Martin. In the section entitled "Legacy", I saw much text pertinent to that section, and wanted to add the following: "On March 22, 2014, which would have been her 102nd birthday, Agnes Martin was honored by the internet search engine Google with a special doodle on its homepage, capturing the unique style of Martin's artwork.", or something to that effect. When I clicked "Edit", I was expecting to see the same text I saw on that page. However, when the editing page loaded, I was HORRIFIED to see that MOST of the text MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEARED! I SWEAR I did NOT "do anything wrong", I only wanted to contribute, but I did NOT expect THIS to happen to me! My question is, what could have possibly gone WRONG? This "incident" occurred at approximately 7:00 AM, EDT this morning. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I hope I'm NOT in trouble, but please note this post as part of any possible investigation as to what may have gone wrong this morning, here on Wikipedia. THANK YOU VERY MUCH! :-)108.69.98.56 (talk) 12:00, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- The section was removed in this edit. It has been added back again by a user. Thanks for reporting, --Glaisher [talk] 12:01, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
Problem with Operations management article
[edit]Someone keeps trying to add a text written by a certain Naresh Anantharaj (http://sg.linkedin.com/pub/naresh-anantharaj/7a/312/a90), which besides being written in a first person point-of-view, is being added to the wrong section of the article and with very bad text formatting. I've opened a discussion on the talk page, but it seems to no avail. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Lbertolotti (talk • contribs) 14:54, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
Copying
[edit]I am currently assembling a history of my 88 years. Starting at my birth in 1926. I would like to copy your info about the conflicts in Kore, Viet Nam and Iraq. Do I have a right to do this, or will you give your permission? I want to do this now, and have the book published for sale to the public while I am still able. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.32.137.116 (talk) 15:16, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- please see Wikipedia:Reusing Wikipedia content- Essentially all of Wikipedia's text has been created under a license that will allow anyone to use it with proper attribution. Many of the images used are also available under the same license, but in English Wikipedia there are also a lot of images that are under the FAIR use doctrine and would require appropriate review and licensing on your part and may not be usable. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 16:15, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
Birch Beer
[edit]Hi,
I noticed that Avery's Soda in New Britain wasn't listed under Birch Beer. This beverage company was founded in 1904 in New Britain and has been making birch beer longer than most companies listed under 'birch beer'.
Appreciate any updates to that effect.
Thank you, Kathy — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.62.152.116 (talk) 20:53, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- The Birch beer article includes a list of brands for which Wikipedia has an article. If you would like to create an article for Avery's Soda (Avery's Beverages) then please let us know, and we'd be glad to provide assistance.
- For example, you can "Play The Wikipedia Adventure to learn how to edit in about an hour". —71.20.250.51 (talk) 00:03, 23 March 2014 (UTC)
Reference for personal knowledge
[edit]I was reading an entry about my great-uncle (deceased) and realized one fact was wrong. I do not have an article to cite. I have this information from my great-uncle's sister, who is my grandmother, and it was often repeated in the family, especially by my mother, because this missing fact caused a breach. My grandmother never talked to her brother during my lifetime because of this fact. I did not put in any disputed facts, just a neutral description of the action that caused the breach. I am missing a reference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Olivia Schulberg (talk • contribs) 21:37, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
- If there are certain errors in an article, or if there are problems with the sources it happens to cite, editors are allowed to exercise editorial discretion. But I don't think we're allowed to add factoids that can't possibly be backed up with reliable sources. Maybe you could leave a brief note on the article's talkpage. It could lead to someone finding a suitable source someday down the road. Good luck.--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 22:17, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
