Apparent reference to Jonathan Gruber (economist). ‑‑Mandruss  02:29, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bahá'í calendar

[edit]

In this edit someone suggested manually updating the birth of Bahá'u'lláh to the Gregorian calendar. Would any script guru care to try creating a script that will do it automatically? --Guy Macon (talk) 08:01, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure why that edit was deemed useful, since the same date is in the preceding table. The edit added a 2014 date to a table headed "Holy Days after March 20, 2015", so it would seem out of place. But what, exactly, are you suggesting? A script to calculate the dates of the eleven holy days in the preceding table, once a year, to save the trouble of looking them up somewhere? ‑‑Mandruss  08:17, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong information

Portslade by Sea

Portslade is in East Sussex not West Sussex as described on its page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.2.68.55 (talkcontribs)

The only Wikipedia article that refers to Portslade-by-Sea is Portslade. That article states, "Portslade is the boundary town with West Sussex and the dividing line is a footpath extending from the seafront up on to the South Downs." I don't read that as saying Portslade is in West Sussex. Meanwhile there are four references to East Sussex (all of them in the infobox at the right). Can you be more specific about the text in error? ‑‑Mandruss  15:19, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

cote de Pablo

[edit]

hi was look at the Cote de Pablo page and notice it didn't mention that see make a film called bandidas with Selma hayek — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.19.122.7 (talk) 15:23, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

For suggestions about improvements to an article, please use the article's talk page. To access the talk page, go to the article and click the Talk tab, near the top, toward the left side. According to IMDb, Cote de Pablo is not in that film. Perhaps you were thinking of Penelope Cruz. ‑‑Mandruss  15:31, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Quarry a bout Editing

[edit]

Dear sir ,

I am designing a website about visiting places in AP, India. It may be help full for the wiki users ,I can add this weblink for Appropriate places.

Please don't - The rules on adding external links to websites are covered at WP:EL, but unless your website only contains "verifiable research" it will fail WP:ELNO whilst adding any website to numerous pages is usually considered to be spamming - Arjayay (talk) 18:19, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A user reported a hack on my talk page

[edit]

Hello, on August 20, 2014 User:WikiImprovment78 created my user talk page and asked me for sources for an edit. On October 14, 2014 I answered, gave some sources and used the Template:reply to to inform him that I have replied. Today, on November 15, User:WikiImprovment78 said that he wanted to report a hack and that he didn't create nor write the text on my user talk. What do I have to do? --Metrophil44 (talk) 18:52, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Metrophil44, thank you for calling this to attention. I have contacted them on their talk page. Sincerely, Taketa (talk) 19:32, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help creating article

[edit]

Hi maybe it's just me but I find it near impossible navigating Wikipedia for the purposes of creating an article and creating articles. It's not see friendly at all. I recently used Article Wizard to draft an article and receive help. Now I can't find the article or the reply that was given. Can someone please tell me where I can find the article so I can work on it again.

Many thanks.

Moulash (talk)

Take a look at Special:Contributions/Moulash to see everything you've edited. Scarce2 (talk) 19:30, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Moulash: You can click "Contributions" at the top right of any page to see Special:Contributions/Moulash. Your October 26 question to this help desk has been archived at Wikipedia:Help desk/Archives/2014 October 26#Help with article. In this edit you partially removed {{Userspace draft|source=ArticleWizard|date=October 2014}} from your draft at User:Moulash/Clear View (house). That meant you lost a helpful box at the top. A similar box with more help has been added in this edit in response to your post here. I recommend you don't remove any of that code. If you eventually submit the draft for review and it's accepted then the reviewer will handle it. PrimeHunter (talk) 21:25, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Question for administrator

<Your Question>

--69.112.220.0 (talk) 22:17, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@69.112.220.0: I'm not an Admin, but it's best to post your question first, it helps editors determine if they can help or better to point you in a more correct direction. Cheers, Mlpearc (open channel) 22:26, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There is a question on the IP's talk page asking how to get information that was placed in his biography article as part of a political attack deleted. The IP also posted a question to the BLP noticeboard, which is the correct place, but did not specify the name of the article in question. Robert McClenon (talk) 01:36, 16 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Biased overwatch

[edit]

Hello,

I have been attempting to update a number of your pages, specifically:

  • - Tactical Assault Group
  • - Commando Selection Training Course, and
  • - 2nd Commando Regiment

I work on contract direct to the department of defence including recruiting and have worked within this areas for the past 5 years.

I have included a number of updates and edits from first hand information I have, which is often hard to reference with a news article and the like, but I have also included updates with accurate references. In doing this, my edits have been continuously undone by user: Anotherclown Most of his responses and selected un-editing have indicated personal bias to ensure that these pages are not accurately informed and in contrast, seek to degrade these organizations / topics.

I have the ability to seek direct input from current serving and organizational level authorities within and overseeing these respective organizations and can seek unclassified information to be included. However I am currently unable to do so given the aforementioned issue.

Regards,

Accuracychaser (talk) 22:56, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The articles in question are Tactical assault group and Commando Selection Training Course. Do you have a conflict of interest by working for the organizations in question? If so, Wikipedia would prefer that you not edit the articles, but instead discuss content changes on the article talk pages. More generally, if you are making edits and the edits are being reverted, you should follow the advice in the dispute resolution policy. If, as you say, the issue has to do with one other editor, it would be appropriate to request a third opinion, a relatively lightweight procedure for dispute resolution. Robert McClenon (talk) 23:03, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
IMHO there is a de facto conflict of interest here.--ukexpat (talk) 15:32, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
In looking at the two articles, I see that the second article has been nominated for deletion, and that, at this point, it is likely to be deleted. As to the first article, there is discussion on the talk page, and the original poster and the other editor have been edit-warring, but fortunately are not at WP:3RR, and another editor has also reverted the original poster's edits. Because three editors are involved, a third opinion is not available. Two choices for dispute resolution are a Request for Comments or moderated dispute resolution. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Robert McClenon (talkcontribs) 01:47, 16 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
