[edit]Inline link to Simple WP?
[edit]Is it possible to have an inline link to a Simple Wikipedia article? E.g.: constituent country, for which en.Wikipedia doesn't have an article, but Simple WP does:[1]. 2606:A000:4C0C:E200:409E:D8B8:A84:FC61 (talk) 03:22, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- @2606:A000:4C0C:E200:409E:D8B8:A84:FC61: Yes! So, you just put the language code (in this case "simple") before the page when linking. But first, you after to put a colon. Basically, it's this: "[[:language:page]]". So, for example, constituent country is this: "[[:simple:Constituent country]]". RileyBugzYell at me | Edits 03:35, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks!
- A better way, which preserves the useful features of a local red link, is through {{illm}}: constituent country . – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 14:19, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

Download Featured Articles
[edit]How can I download all of this month's featured articles at once? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:647:CD00:FA79:FD93:D072:AAF5:E87F (talk) 04:57, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- Hello, while you can see all the featured articles of this month at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/March 2017 (and so for past and future months) and download the same, you can also get every day's featured article directly emailed to you each day if you subscribe to our mailing list, as enumerated on this page. Hope this helps you. Lourdes 12:35, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
Phabricator
[edit]Hello! Would somebody like to help me submit a proposal to Phabricator? What I would like to suggest is adding the option "upright" to the editor surface function "embedded file" (for all Wikipedia versions, of course!). I'd be grateful for any help since I'm not familiar to how Phabricator actually works (I already signed up, but admittedly, I got confused by the totally different structure compared to the Wikis...) However, I do think that the community could in fact benefit from my idea. Would somebody like to help me post the idea?--Hubon (talk) 14:16, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
Need census help
[edit]So I'm trying to figure out the population of Shorter, Alabama--it's a terrible article with data and populations all over the place. Going to the horse's mouth, Census.gov, doesn't help me either--I cannot seem to navigate the place. It tells me that the estimated population for 2014 is 435, but gives no source, and I have no idea where to find it on the supplied link--I've been through the datasets and stuff. #thanksobama! Can I get, from one of you, a census-verified population with a real source (not a search result on census.gov)? I don't care if it's 2010, 2014, 2016--I just need something solid with a solid reference. Thanks! Dr Aaij (talk) 16:00, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- The estimated population as of 1 July 2015 was 429, with a 1 July 2014 estimate of 436 (not 435), according to [surveys/popest/datasets/2010-2015/cities/totals/sub-est2015_1.csv]. Estimates for populated places nationwide can be found by going to [2] and picking the state you're interested in finding; they're seemingly all in the .csv format. - Nyttend, thank you so much. This is so much more complicated than it needs to be; one almost thinks the government is hiding something, like they had that death panel in the pizza restaurant. Dr Aaij (talk) 17:40, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- It's asking me to log in? Dr Aaij (talk) 17:42, 20 March 2017 (UTC)
- Dr Aaij, I have no idea. Using the latest edition of Internet Explorer, I clicked Alabama and got a typical IE message:
When I click open, I get an ordinary security warning, and when I allow it, the file opens. Nothing else happens. If you still can't get access, let me know and I'll send it to the email address. Nyttend (talk) 19:54, 20 March 2017 (UTC)What do you want to do with sub-est2015_1.csv?

Talk page archiving stopped working?
[edit]Hello. I have lowercase sigmabot III set up to archive my talk page every week, but it doesn't run every week like it is supposed to. Can a more experienced editor look at my talk page and tell me what is wrong with the archive settings? XboxGamer22408talk to me 20:19, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- @XboxGamer22408: You didn't complete the setup. The bot needed more of the parameters filled out to know what to do and when. I filled the rest out for you but feel free to tweak it to suit your needs. --Majora (talk) 20:25, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- OK great! Thanks for helping me with this! XboxGamer22408talk to me 20:27, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
Wikipedia.org search box pictures
[edit]From wikipedia.org main page search box, how do I edit what picture appears in the list of found topics? I noticed one that erroneously has the picture of a famous actress with the same name; want to correct it. Looked in Wikidata, but could not find it. --Hobbes Goodyear (talk) 21:28, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- It's chosen automatically and should be in the linked article but you didn't name it so I cannot check it. See mw:Extension:PageImages#Image choice. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:16, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks, anyway, doesn't look fixable, absent code rewrite. --Hobbes Goodyear (talk) 23:30, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Is the 2017-18 NHL Season By team template ready I hope so. 68.102.39.189 (talk) 22:48, 18 March 2017 (UTC)

RE section titled "Michael Francis Middleton". A recent editor has changed the word "dynasty" to "dynast". Plus - shouldn't there be quotation marks to end this quote after the word dynast(y)?
