[edit]2020 Major League Baseball season article
[edit]What No Article just yet there are 5 references on it should be a article now. 68.103.78.155 (talk) 00:36, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- We are all volunteers and we each do whatever we feel like. Feel free to write the article yourself. See WP:YFA. -Arch dude (talk) 02:27, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- I see you did create Draft:2020 Major League Baseball season and submit it for review a month ago. The box at the bottom says "Review waiting, please be patient. This may take 8 weeks or more". It looks bad to have around 30 empty placeholder sections. The review may have a better chance if they are commented out with

until they get content. PrimeHunter (talk) 08:41, 27 August 2019 (UTC)- 2020 Major League Baseball season has been accepted now even though 4 of the 5 references had dead links. I have fixed them and removed the external links section which only had a dead link. PrimeHunter (talk) 13:46, 27 August 2019 (UTC)

Hidden categories
[edit]How can I remove an article from a hidden category? Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 18:23, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Willbb234: that will depend on the category. In general you can find the category in Category:Hidden categories, click on the category page to see what criteria put an article in the category, then edit the article so it no longer meets the criteria. Obviously if an article is tagged to highlight a problem, then the problem should be solved before removing the tag. TSventon (talk) 18:45, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @TSventon: Thanks for the answer, but what constitutes as 'edit[ing] the article so it no longer meets the criteria'? For example, there are several categories containing articles needing updating, but how does it know that they have actually been updated? My question is asking how an article can be removed manually from one of these hidden categories? Regards, Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 20:57, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Willbb234: There will be a template which has been added manually and dated with the month it was added. The category looks for the template, not the error. They are often at the beginning of the article and can be removed manually when the issue is resolved and that removes the hidden category. In edit mode templates are enclosed in curly brackets. Can you post an example If you can't find a template? TSventon (talk) 21:47, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @TSventon: The template was for a particular section in the article. Stupid me! Thanks for all the help though. Regards, Willbb234Talk (please {{ping}} me in replies) 22:03, 27 August 2019 (UTC)

Permanent Wikidata items and interwiki of deleted WP articles
[edit]Please have a look Talk:UTET. If the web page creashes down like the present discussion topic, may be useful to try this. Hope someone helps. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.38.236.1 (talk) 20:39, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- The discussion has been deleted. It reported that, once a WP article has beeen deleted, the related Wikidata item has to be automatically deleted too. It isn't so. The article w:en:UTET has been deleted, but the Wikidata item still exists and also there is an interwiki link pointing to an empty page from Wikipedia in other languages: look at w:pt:UTET and w:it:UTET. That is not an optimal situation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.38.234.106 (talk) 21:41, 28 August 2019 (UTC)

Is there a template or place to temporary make irrelevant info hidden
[edit]Over at this talk page. Is there a template piece that will contain the messages by others and it will temporary make it hidden. Until when you click on the word; show, etc. Or is there a different place to post this concern at? I haven't been around much to remember if there is or isn't. Unblue box (talk) 23:41, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- @Unblue box: you are looking for Template:Collapse – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 00:29, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
- That was fast and easy to use. Unblue box (talk) 01:07, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
Desktop versus mobile: "Related articles"
[edit]The mobile version of Wikipedia suggests related articles at the bottom of the page. That seems like a valuable feature, so why doesn't the desktop version do the same thing? Steve Wise (talk) 23:54, 27 August 2019 (UTC)
- That used to be a feature on desktop as well, if you had turned it on at your Beta features tab. It was called RelatedArticles. I don't know why it is no longer available for desktop. – Finnusertop (talk ⋅ contribs) 00:27, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
