[edit]Legal concerns email addy
[edit]Currently, at Wikipedia:FAQ/Article subjects there are two email addresses suggested for an article's subject to contact Wikipedia when legal issues are concerned:
- Under The information in your article about me is wrong. How can I get it fixed? It says:
- "For serious legal issues, including libel, please send an E-mail to info-en-q@wikipedia.org."
- Then, under I would like to sue you for lying about me in your article. How do I proceed? It says:
- "If you have a genuine legal concern, tell us about it by emailing info-en-q@wikimedia.org."
My guess is that any difference between the two domains is irrelevant, and emails sent to either one will all end up going to the same place — but I'd like to know for certain. Thanks in advance for any info on this. Regards, Spintendo 09:29, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- If no one here knows, you can try Wikipedia:Village pump (WMF). Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 14:07, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- Much appreciated Gråbergs Gråa Sång. I'll try asking there. Regards, Spintendo 15:45, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
Submitting an article to WikiProjects
[edit]How do I get an article I created to be rated on the content assessment scale and projects importance scale by different WikiProjects? Salutations25 (talk) 12:33, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Salutations25 If you think you understand the criteria, you can do so yourself up to a point per Wikipedia:Content_assessment#Assessing_articles. If you don't want to assess your own articles (I rarely do), you can wait, someone usually comes around sooner or later, or ask somebody, maybe at a wikiproject talkpage. Note that below GA , these assessments are very informal. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 14:15, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
Adding all articles in a cat to my watchlist?
[edit]Is there an easy way to add all articles in a category to my watchlist? If so, is there any way to add all articles in the cat and its subcats?Naraht (talk) 12:46, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not aware of any such method- some categories have hundreds of thousands of members(and more) and would flood your watchlist. 331dot (talk) 12:54, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- Although not adding them to your watchlist, a work around is to bookmark a link to "related changes" for the category (Go to the category page, click "Related changes" under "Tools" then choose how many changes over how many days you want to see, and book-mark it)
This has four advantages: 1) you don't have to add multiple pages, 2) you can see all the relevant changes, not just the most recent, all in one place, 3) if a new page is added to the category it will automatically appear without you having to notice and then add it, and 4) you can ignore/delete the bookmark if you are no longer interested, rather than finding and deleting the pages from your watchlist - Hope that helps - Arjayay (talk) 13:14, 1 November 2023 (UTC)

Declining AfC review question
[edit]I've recently become an AfC reviewer and I had some questions about an article I'm reviewing (Draft:Kachin History (Colonial Period)). The article is encyclopedic and notable. However, it focuses narrowly on part of a topic (History of Kachin State) that doesn't have an article right now. I think it should be normally be merged into that broader article- but that broader article does not exist. Is that a decline or accept? Also not sure if this is supposed to be on the talk page on AfC project administration itself so asking here EmeraldRange (talk/contribs) 16:15, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- @EmeraldRange You'll get more informed help at the specific Helpdesk. Mike Turnbull (talk) 17:55, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, wasn't sure if that was for people who have submitted an Afc or for reviewers as well. EmeraldRange (talk/contribs) 18:02, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
ACTOR'S Page
[edit]
Could you create a page for me or help me do it? I have all the citations and news worthy sites as well as an IMDB page for reference. Thank you Kdwyatt (talk) 20:58, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
Wikipedia is absolutely not about self-promotion. It is not the place to advertise oneself. There are plenty of other places; typically one's one website or blog, or via an employer's website, or in the case of TV/film IMDB. By all means stay here and make objective improvements to other articles, based on reliable sources; they would be most welcome, please. But in general, in your early days, concentrate on areas where you are not too personally invested (i.e. where you will not be personally disappointed if more experienced editors revert what you have written.) Hope that helps. Feline Hymnic (talk) 22:00, 1 November 2023 (UTC)
