episodes of pulang araw

why do have no continue of the episodes of pulang araw and why all tba???????? 222.127.94.236 (talk) 02:33, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

The titles at Pulang Araw#Episodes were removed a few days ago with the explanation "episode titles not mentioned in the references".[1] I don't know the language. One of the meanings at wikt:TBA is "to be added" so I suppose it isn't completely wrong to say TBA although "to be announced" is probably a more common interpretation. How to reply for bulk producing articles

A newly joined wikipedia keeps on making bulks of new articles which are legit article names that should and could be made, but the thing is he just type a sentence in each article and keep on creatng new ones either with few words or totally nonsese (some pages he made only contain a reference tag). How should i reply in his talk page? What should i point out VihirLak007hmu!/duh. 07:35, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

@VihirLak007 It is very difficult to help you without having an example. Please specify the name of the other editor and a link to one of the articles which you think are "nonsese" [sic]. All new articles are reviewed by the new pages patrol so true nonsense should be rejected by them eventually. Mike Turnbull (talk) 14:07, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
This might be a request for help on another wiki project. If so, @VihirLak007 will have to approach the admins on that project for help, not here. – robertsky (talk) 14:49, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
All @VihirLak007's contributions since this post have been on Sinhala Wikipedia. ColinFine (talk) 12:40, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
yes thanks. Got all sorted out VihirLak007hmu!/duh. 13:41, 25 October 2024 (UTC)

I am not able to recover my account

I had made an account. But I am not able to log in nor am I able to receive a forgot email link. 183.82.100.151 (talk) 08:59, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

If that's the case, you will need to create a new account and identify it as a successor to your old account("I am User5678, I was User1234 but lost access"). 331dot (talk) 09:07, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
See H:LOGIN. You might be able to do it if you found a browser on which you were currently logged in, but generally speaking, if you do not have the password or an active email address, the account cannot be recovered.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 11:10, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

new contribution

I'd like to post a translation of my German contribution. Where do I find the place to input the text? ZAYBXC (talk) 11:22, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Please use the Article Wizard. Note that the German Wikipedia has different policies, its up to you to make sure the subject you wrote about meets our policies, like notability. 331dot (talk) 11:26, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Please read Translation. Unless it is very clear that most of the citations in the De version are reliable, independent, and contain significant coverage of the subject, and that together they establish that the subject meets En Wikipedia's criteria for notability, I would advise treating this as a new article and following YFA, rather than trying to translate what you have. how can I update the page without sounding like for a promotional purpose?

Hi, I am trying to update my page but keep getting rejected by someone. How can I update the page without sounding like for a promotional purpose? Dan H Barouch (talk) 12:53, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

The Wikipedia article about you(not "your page" that you own and control) should not read like a resume of your professional accomplishments and qualifications. A Wikipedia article summarizes what independent reliable sources choose to say about the topic, not what it says about itself. Please see the autobiography policy. Please use the edit request wizard to propose edits to the article. I would highly suggest that you propose small, incremental changes one or two at a time, and not a wholesale rewrite, to increase the chances a volunteer will want to invest the time in reviewing your requests. 331dot (talk) 12:57, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
This has clear problems with WP:NOT. A Wikipedia article is not the place to post CVs, resumes etc, so this idea should be abandoned.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 13:01, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia has little interest in what the subject of an article says or wants to say about themselves, or what their associates say about them. Wikipedia is almost entirely interested in what people who have no connection with the subject, and who have not been prompted or fed information on behalf of the subject, have chosen to publish about the subject in reliable sources. If enough material is cited from independent sources to establish notability, a limited amount of uncontroversial factual information may be added from non-independent sources.
What you know, think, or believe, even about yourself, has no place in any Wikipedia article unless it is backed up by a reliable published source. If you write what you want to say, rather than what people wholly unconnected with you have chosen to say about you, it is likely to sound promotional. ColinFine (talk) 20:58, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Translation doesn't publish

Hi I translated a page from German to English, but I can only publish it as a draft. What do I need to do to actually publish it?

User:Animexamera/Tibor_Zenker Animexamera (talk) 13:08, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Animexamera I fixed your link so it doesn't open up the edit window; the whole url is unnecessary. I added the appropriate information to your draft so you can submit it for a review. 331dot (talk) 13:10, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Thank you!!! Animexamera (talk) 13:12, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Your post above was your 10th edit- that will allow you to move it to the encyclopedia yourself, if you wish(that's what was preventing it, that you lacked 10 edits) but I advise you to submit it for a review so any problems can be addressed first. 331dot (talk) 13:12, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
@Animexamera I took a quick look at your draft. here on en:Wikipedia we have a policy for biographies of living people which is very strict about inline citations. Your last sentence about the family is uncited and if you can't back that up you should remove it. It won't affect whether the subject is considered wikinotable, which is the main issue for now. Mike Turnbull (talk) 14:00, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Applied! Animexamera (talk) 14:04, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

The Tempest

I just added a citation for Orgel where "citation needed" had previously appeared. I have a couple more to go there, too, but first I need to know whether I should worry about the red notes in subsequent Orgel footnotes from the same year. I tried to learn about the errors from various Wiki pages but couldn't figure it out. I also tried to see the previous version of the whole article after I published to see the previous Orgel reference - but couldn't figure that out either. CopyCustodian (talk) 14:24, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

The root cause seem to be that "Orgel, Stephen (1987) The Tempest" is listed under both "References" and "Sources" of the "Notes and references" section, so the algorithm has difficulty determining which entry the citation should direct to. Removing one of the Orgel entry and direct its citations to the other remaining entry should solve the problem. Tutwakhamoe (talk) 14:50, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
@CopyCustodian Your edit added a duplicate of the book already in the list of sources. That article is using the {{sfn}} method of doing sources and is a "good" article, so you should stick to that method of doing things. I suggest you self-revert you addition and learn about using that method of citing before you add more citations. Mike Turnbull (talk) 15:00, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll try to do that. CopyCustodian (talk) 15:17, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Handling undisclosed paid editing

First, by WP:OUTING, we can look out the window and but can not directly name what we see outside the window no matter how obvious it is for anyone who can do the most basic searching. When there's clear and convincing evidence of UPE, but the accused plays hardball and denies everything and admits nothing, can we still leave the UPE hatnote in place on articles while noticeboard and talk discussion are taking place? The talk pages related to these policy seems to not have much activity these days, so I am asking here. The email response time from functionary is weeks out, if they respond at all. Graywalls (talk) 22:18, 24 October 2024 (UTC)

Yes, you can leave that UPE/COI notice on the article, especially if you've sent evidence by email according to WP:AVOIDOUTING. Depending on the situation, admins can act even on non-public info (but obviously can't have a full discussion about the evidence on-wiki) and could mention that "non-public evidence filed..." even without stating the evidence itself.
