Wikipedia:I don't agree with that

This page in a nutshell: A handy link to use when improperly accused of WP:IDHT (I didn't hear that) during talk page disputes. |
Quite often, in a talk page dispute, it will come down to one person thinking that if they repeat their argument enough, they'll win. If that doesn't work, they'll invariably whip out the ole' WP:IDHT link, thinking that citing a wiki-policy will suddenly give them that decisive advantage. The best way to respond to that is to politely say; "I did hear, I just don't agree with that."
- Example;
- Bertram: "It tastes great!"
- Ernesto: "It's less filling!"
- Bertram: "It tastes great!"
- Ernesto: "It's less filling!"
- Bertram: "It tastes great!"
- Ernesto: "It's less filling!"
- Bertram: "It tastes great!"
- Ernesto: "It's less filling!"
- Bertram: "It tastes great!"
- Ernesto: "It's less filling!"
- Bertram: "It tastes great!"
- Ernesto: "It's less filling!"
- Bertram: "The problem here is you have a bad case of WP:IDHT"
- Ernesto: "No, I heard you, I just don't agree with that."
Now you can add your own link for good measure. (Just don't pay any attention to the fact that the discussions take place visually and there is no audio component.) This new process is estimated to cut down on content disputes by up to 50%.[citation needed]
