Details re 1 October hiking adventures
[edit]We are meeting at Newcastle train station very early in the morning - at 8am!!!! We have decided that we are going to be spontaneous and open spacey, so we'll collectively decide on the exact route on the day. Suggested destinations so far are:
- The Bogey Hole
- the old coal railway that used to run along the coast
- the Newcastle Breakwall.
Let us know if you have any other suggestion of an area that is close to Newcastle and we can cover in one day.Juttavd (talk) 06:27, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Workshop session description
[edit]The Art of Wikis is an interactive visual workshop about Wikis. In this all day workshop, global and local Wikipedia activity will be streamed onto the screen and workshop participants will join in the creation and editing processes. Wikipedia editors will provide insiders knowledge of the Wikimedia community, the mechanics of crowd sourcing and Creative Commons licensing.
Bring along your photographs and stories to participate in a masterclass of creation and editing of Wikipedia content.
Or come along to one of the two specialist sessions.
11-12am. Leigh Blackall will demonstrate how public wikis are being used in tertiary education and research.
3-4pm. John Vandenberg will showcase cultural institutions sharing and collaborating with Wikimedia projects.

Evening meetup
[edit]It's a very long time since there was a Newcastle Meetup. Maybe Monday would be a good day for it as people are around for TINA during the day. Does anyone have a suggested location we could meet for dinner and drinks? Angela. 11:31, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
- Great idea! At this point, I am not sure if I'll make it to an evening meetup. Depends if I am taking Tuesday off work or not. Juttavd (talk) 06:33, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
- I'll be at an evening meetup on Monday, but I would prefer an evening meetup on Sunday if that is possible. John Vandenberg (chat) 23:51, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
- Everyone is going home. John Vandenberg (chat) 06:12, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
